To keep prerecorded Malayalam videos playing on a YouTube Live watch page, send YouTube a continuous encoded video feed: run looping-video software on a computer that stays on, or use a cloud service built for continuous streams. A normal YouTube playlist is on-demand playback, not a live broadcast. First make sure your channel is eligible to stream, then prepare rights-cleared videos, configure the stream, test it, and decide how to handle sessions longer than 12 hours.
Before you start: confirm the channel can go live
YouTube’s current live-streaming guidance requires a verified channel, no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and an account holder at least 16 years old. First-time live streaming may take up to 24 hours to activate, so enable it well before the planned broadcast. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming help.

There is no special Malayalam playlist-to-live feature or Malayalam-specific encoding requirement established by YouTube’s encoder guidance. Malayalam is the language of your prerecorded content and the metadata you choose; the technical workflow is the same as for other video.
Choose how to keep the feed running
Run a local encoder
A software encoder on a computer can send a continuous feed made from your prerecorded videos. The computer, encoder, and internet connection must remain available for the stream to continue. YouTube also recognizes standalone hardware encoders, but its general guidance does not specify a particular computer model or minimum system requirement for this playlist use case. Use a cloud service
YouTube’s encoder guide names Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos. That mention does not establish its current pricing, file limits, or terms, so check those directly before choosing it. For any service, verify how it handles looping, stream-key security, monitoring, recovery after a disconnect, and total cost.
Set up the YouTube Live stream
- Prepare the videos and playlist. Choose the Malayalam recordings you have permission to broadcast. Arrange their order and make sure transitions, audio levels, and the end-to-start loop work as intended. The encoder or service—not a regular YouTube playlist—must create the continuous feed.
- Create or schedule a stream. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule an encoder stream. YouTube provides a stream URL and stream key for the encoder.
- Connect the encoder. Enter YouTube’s stream URL and key in the encoder or service’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, share it unnecessarily, or include it in a public screenshot. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Configure output and start a test. Use the settings below as the starting point, then test with representative video and audio before announcing a long broadcast. YouTube’s recommended encoder settings include support for the listed codecs and a two-second keyframe interval.
- Start the encoder and check YouTube. Confirm that the Live Control Room receives a picture and sound, review stream health and any warnings, and check the public watch page before relying on the stream.

Monitor the stream after it starts. A test should include motion and the loudest or most complex audio in the playlist, not just a still opening frame. If health warnings appear, reduce output demands or address the connection or encoder issue before committing to a long session.

Plan 24-hour operation and replay archives
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A single uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast exceeds that stated archive window, so do not assume YouTube will provide one complete automatic replay. If a complete archive matters, consider ending and restarting in shorter sessions, and verify the actual archive behavior in YouTube Studio. Shorter sessions also create deliberate points to check the playlist, stream health, and schedule.

You need the necessary rights to every element in the live feed, including music, images, and video. YouTube says: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A detected match can replace the live picture, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it. Having a licence does not by itself guarantee uninterrupted streaming: YouTube notes that licensed third-party content may still be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Check the applicable YouTube terms and clear each recording and track before scheduling; do not treat a successful test as proof that the rights are cleared.

- Live streaming is unavailable: Verify the channel and check for a restriction within the prior 90 days; confirm the account holder meets YouTube’s minimum age. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube receives no signal: Confirm the encoder is running and that the stream URL and key match the active stream in YouTube Studio. If you replaced the key, update it in the encoder too.
- Health warnings or an unstable feed: Check the upload connection and encoder load, then lower resolution, frame rate, or bitrate demands as needed. Re-test with representative content and watch the Live Control Room’s health messages.
- The picture or sound is interrupted after a rights match: Review the matched content and rights status. Obtain the necessary permissions and, where applicable, ask the rights owner to allowlist the channel through Content ID; a licence alone may not prevent an interruption.
- No complete replay appears after a day-long stream: A 24-hour broadcast is longer than YouTube’s documented automatic-archive guidance for streams under 12 hours. Use shorter sessions if a replay is important and check the resulting archive in Studio.
