To run a 24/7 autumn forest ambience stream on YouTube, send a continuous feed from an encoder using forest footage and audio you own or are licensed to livestream. Create or schedule a stream in YouTube Studio, copy its Live server URL and stream key into the encoder, preview the feed, then monitor it. A 24-hour stream exceeds YouTube’s documented under-12-hour automatic archive window, so plan separately if viewers need a replay.
1. Prepare a loop that is yours to broadcast
Build the scene from footage of autumn woods and falling leaves, plus ambience audio, that you created yourself or have permission to use. Check that any license covers worldwide livestreaming, distribution, archiving, and monetization if you intend to monetize. YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to have necessary rights for the live content on Google services worldwide, including relevant music licensing rights.

“Royalty-free” alone does not settle whether a track can be used in a YouTube livestream. Read the license for the exact use, and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting if required. Make a seamless loop if you want the scene to repeat, and check both the visual transition and audio for gaps, abrupt cuts, or volume jumps.
2. Make sure your channel can go live
YouTube says live streaming requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips for current eligibility guidance.

3. Choose how to send the continuous feed
YouTube accepts encoder software and standalone hardware encoders. Software is a practical starting point if you already have a computer and an encoder that can play a prepared loop; hardware is an optional dedicated route, not a requirement. YouTube’s guidance names Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded-video livestreaming, but that reference does not establish its current terms or pricing.
Choose based on what you already own and can operate. Consider how you will schedule or loop the scene, monitor it, recover after computer, power, or network interruptions, and record a local copy if you need one. The cited YouTube guidance does not establish comparative prices or reliability for software versus hardware, and no particular encoder’s looping feature is assumed here.

4. Create the stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Create > Go live to open the Live Control Room. Create a stream or schedule one for later. Add a clear title and description; if the visuals are prerecorded or looped, describe them accurately.
- In the stream setup, locate the Live server URL and stream key. Copy both into the matching server/URL and key fields in your encoder. YouTube describes the key as the credential that tells the encoder where to send its feed: keep it private, do not publish it, and reset it in YouTube Studio if it is exposed.
- Set the encoder to play your prepared footage and ambience continuously. Use the encoder’s own loop or playlist controls if available; the exact control varies by encoder, and no single application is required by YouTube’s setup instructions.
- Start the encoder and wait for the feed to appear in the Live Control Room preview. Check that the picture is moving, falling-leaf details are visible, and the audio is present and at a steady level before starting the public broadcast.
- When ready, start the stream from the Live Control Room or the encoder workflow shown there. For a scheduled stream, share its watch page in advance; YouTube says viewers can receive reminders.
YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains the connection process and distinguishes software from hardware encoder options: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. The sources consulted for this workflow do not establish a specific recommended resolution, bitrate, or keyframe interval for a prerecorded forest-ambience loop. Use settings appropriate to your source and encoder rather than treating an unverified number as a YouTube requirement.
5. Test and monitor before relying on a long broadcast
Run the complete loop before the scheduled launch. Listen through transitions, check that the image does not freeze at the loop point, and verify that the encoder continues sending the feed. If possible, test the recovery steps you would use after an encoder, computer, power, or network interruption. Testing helps expose problems; it cannot guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 stream.

During the broadcast, check the Live Control Room’s preview and stream status, and make sure someone can respond if the feed stops or YouTube reports a problem. Avoid promising continuous availability simply because the stream has started.
6. Plan for the replay separately
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A 24/7 stream is longer than that documented threshold, so do not assume YouTube will preserve a complete day-long replay. If replay access matters, arrange a separate local recording or publish a suitably sized video separately. YouTube’s encoder instructions describe the archive window: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

7. Prevent rights problems and interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including content appearing in another live broadcast. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using the material; if the content remains, the livestream may be interrupted or terminated. Licensed third-party material can still be interrupted unless the rights holder adds your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams, and use original recordings or confirm the relevant rights and allowlisting arrangements before going live.

Monetization is not automatic, and YouTube does not issue a blanket ruling that all looping ambience is ineligible. Its channel monetization policy applies to livestreams and requires original, authentic content; repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible. YouTube’s notice dated July 15, 2025, renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” to clarify that policy. Reviewers may assess a channel as a whole, including its theme, newest and most-viewed videos, watch-time distribution, metadata, and About section. Permission to use footage or music is a copyright matter; it does not by itself establish that a channel meets monetization’s originality requirements. See YouTube channel monetization policies.
