How to Stream 24/7 Marathi Bhavgeet on YouTube with FFmpeg

You can loop an authorized Marathi Bhavgeet program into a YouTube Live stream with FFmpeg by using -stream_loop -1, sending the output to YouTube’s RTMPS ingest endpoint with a private stream key, and keeping the computer and network running. That creates continuous playback while the process and connection work; it does not by itself provide automatic recovery from a machine, process, or network failure. This guide covers rights checks, setup, a command pattern, testing, operations, and archive planning.

1. Clear the music and recording rights first

Before encoding anything, confirm that your channel is authorized to broadcast every composition and every particular recording in the program. Permission for a composition does not necessarily grant permission to use a specific sound recording. No rights status is established here for any named Bhavgeet, song, recording, or rights holder, so do not assume that a recording is free to rebroadcast because it is old, widely available, or culturally familiar.

  • Use material you own or have permission to broadcast on YouTube Live.
  • Keep license documents and any platform-specific permissions available to the person operating the channel.
  • Leave any unverified recording out until its rights are confirmed. A successful technical test does not establish that the content is cleared.

2. Prepare the program file

For a simple setup, assemble the Bhavgeet program into a media file such as PROGRAM.mp4. Check that the whole program plays correctly before scheduling the live broadcast: confirm the intended track order, transitions, audio level, and any accompanying image or video. If you use a playlist or multiple files, test how they advance before relying on them for continuous operation.

FFmpeg’s -stream_loop -1 input option repeats a file indefinitely. The -re option reads the input at its native frame rate, which is useful when sending a file as a live-like input rather than pushing it as fast as the machine can process it. See the FFmpeg documentation for option behavior; these flags do not keep a crashed process or disconnected host alive.

3. Enable YouTube Live and get the publishing details

  1. Check access early. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live broadcast and confirm that live streaming is enabled for the channel. YouTube says first-time live activation may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until launch time. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions for the current Studio interface.
  2. Copy the server URL and stream key. Use the server URL and key provided for that broadcast or stream in YouTube Studio as the FFmpeg destination details. YouTube can change interface labels, so rely on the values shown in your Studio session rather than a copied endpoint from someone else’s setup.
  3. Protect the key. A stream key is a publishing credential. Do not post it in screenshots, public scripts, chat, or a public repository. If it is exposed, stop using that credential and follow YouTube Studio’s current controls to replace or reset it; the exact key-rotation procedure is not specified here.

4. Choose output settings for YouTube

YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends RTMPS, H.264 video, constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds), and AAC or MP3 audio. For stereo audio, the same guidance lists 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps as recommended advanced settings. Choose resolution, frame rate, and video bitrate to suit the source and the upload bandwidth available at the streaming location; there is no single bitrate value that is appropriate for every resolution, frame rate, and connection. Review YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions before setting a production stream.

RTMPS is RTMP sent over an SSL connection. Google’s ingestion guide specifies the RTMPS protocol, a valid YouTube RTMPS ingest endpoint and application path, and port 443. Use the endpoint and path supplied for your live stream and consult Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide if configuring a custom connection.

5. Start with this FFmpeg command pattern

ffmpeg -re -stream_loop -1 -i PROGRAM.mp4
  -c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -b:v VIDEO_BITRATE
  -maxrate VIDEO_BITRATE -bufsize VIDEO_BUFFER
  -pix_fmt yuv420p -g KEYFRAME_INTERVAL_FRAMES
  -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100
  -f flv 'rtmps://YOUTUBE_INGEST_ENDPOINT/APP/STREAM_KEY'

This is an illustrative starting pattern, not a tested command or universal preset. Replace PROGRAM.mp4, the bitrate and buffer placeholders, the keyframe interval, and the RTMPS destination with values for your actual file, output format, frame rate, available bandwidth, and YouTube Studio settings. Do not put a real stream key in an article, screenshot, or shared script.

  • -re and -stream_loop -1 are input options, so they appear before -i PROGRAM.mp4.
  • -c:v libx264 selects H.264 encoding where that encoder is available in your FFmpeg build. -preset veryfast is an example encoder-speed setting, not a YouTube requirement.
  • -b:v and -maxrate use a bitrate you choose; -bufsize also needs a deliberate value appropriate to that bitrate. The placeholders are not literal values.
  • -g is the GOP/keyframe interval in frames. For a two-second interval, calculate the frame count from the output frame rate—for example, use twice the number of output frames per second. Confirm the actual output frame rate if it differs from the input.
  • -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100 selects AAC audio and the stereo sample-rate/bitrate recommendations noted above. Confirm that the input has the intended audio stream and that the output is acceptable in YouTube’s preview.
  • -f flv selects the output container used for this RTMP-family publishing pattern; the destination must use the RTMPS endpoint and application path provided by YouTube.

FFmpeg command-line options generally apply to the next input or output, so their placement matters. Keep input options before the input they affect and output options before the output destination, as described in the FFmpeg manual. Validate the final command against the installed FFmpeg build and the current YouTube settings.

6. Test before making the broadcast public

  1. Use an unlisted or otherwise controlled broadcast and the exact media file, encoder settings, machine, storage, and network route intended for the real stream.
  2. Start the FFmpeg command and check YouTube Studio’s incoming stream preview and health indicators. Confirm that the audio is present, levels are sensible, the image does not freeze, and the stream is arriving at the intended quality.
  3. Let the test run long enough to reveal problems with transitions, silence, repeated sections, or local network stability. Music streams with a static image still need representative audio and movement where applicable.
  4. Make corrections, then repeat the test after any material change to the media, output settings, machine, or network.

YouTube explicitly advises creators to test with content similar to the planned event and monitor stream health during the broadcast: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

7. Keep the broadcast running—and plan for failure

The loop continues only while FFmpeg is running, its input remains readable, the host stays on, and the network can deliver the stream. A successful initial connection does not guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast. For a local FFmpeg setup, plan who will watch the stream, how logs and errors will be checked, and how the operator will restart the process and reconnect if the computer, storage, internet connection, or YouTube connection fails. The sources cited here do not prescribe a production-grade failover design.

The YouTube Live API documentation distinguishes the live stream feed from the live broadcast resource and describes a 24/7 broadcast model in which those resources are handled separately. That distinction can matter for API-driven operations, but it is not a ready-made FFmpeg failover implementation; see Understanding Broadcasts and Streams.

8. Decide how you want to handle replays

YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A single 24/7 session is longer than that stated window, so do not assume it will create one complete replay covering an entire day or multiple days. Decide whether continuous listening or replay availability is the priority. If you need replay material, plan separately—for example, by scheduling shorter broadcast segments or making a local recording—and verify current archive behavior in YouTube Studio before relying on it. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.

9. Troubleshoot common problems

Symptom Likely checks and fixes
YouTube does not receive the stream Confirm that live streaming has been activated, the broadcast is ready in Studio, and the command uses the current server URL, application path, and stream key. Check that the machine can reach the RTMPS endpoint over port 443 and that the key has not been mistyped or exposed.
FFmpeg connects but YouTube reports an unhealthy stream Recheck the output codec, CBR mode, keyframe interval, audio encoding, and the selected resolution/bitrate against YouTube’s current encoder guidance. Lower the bitrate or output quality if the available upload connection cannot sustain it, then run another controlled test.
Playback is silent or too loud Check that the input contains the intended audio stream and inspect the audio level in the test preview. Confirm the AAC settings and make sure the actual program mix is not clipped or unexpectedly quiet.
The picture freezes or the stream stops after a while Check FFmpeg output and logs, source-file access, disk availability, host sleep or shutdown behavior, and network stability. The infinite loop flag repeats media; it does not restart FFmpeg after an error or recover a failed host.
The program repeats but the transition is abrupt Review the end and beginning of the source file and prepare a program with the intended transition. The loop option repeats the file; it does not create a crossfade or repair an edit.
The live stream works but a complete replay is unavailable Check the session duration and YouTube Studio’s current archive behavior. The stated automatic archive guidance covers streams under 12 hours, not a guarantee of a complete archive for a longer continuous session.

Or let it run in the cloud

If you do not want a computer and home connection to stay on, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload the authorized recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud loops the uploaded program, so your computer can be off. Each slot streams the video as uploaded up to 4K at 60 fps for one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers; it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card required, one free day per account. Monthly billing is available at $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for YouTube streams of uploaded video, not camera broadcasts. See StreamNeo for details or start the free day.
