A Drive playlist or share link is not, by itself, a verified continuous encoder input: test how your chosen tool accesses each file and handles playlist order and looping before relying on it. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. You must be at least 16 to livestream. Confirm rights to every recording and visual
Having a bhajan file in Drive, or knowing that the underlying devotional composition is traditional, does not establish that you may rebroadcast the particular recording. Check rights for both the composition and sound recording, plus any artwork or video, for the territories and uses involved in the live stream and its archive.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A detected match can interrupt or terminate a broadcast. Even licensed third-party material may be interrupted unless the rights owner has allowlisted your channel. YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams explains this risk; its livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights, including music licensing rights.

How to connect a Google Drive playlist to YouTube Live
1. Make the audio accessible to the encoder
First establish how your encoder will read the playlist’s tracks. Google documents authorized ways to download Drive file contents, including the Drive API’s files.get method with alt=media, subject to permissions. That documentation does not establish that a standard Drive share link can be used as a stable, continuous playlist source. See Google’s Drive download and export documentation.
For a local encoder, a practical route is to download the authorized files to storage the encoder can read, then arrange them in the desired order using a playlist format supported by that encoder. Test every item, including longer tracks, before broadcasting. If you use a hosted encoder, verify that it can authenticate to Drive or accept your uploaded files, preserve track order, loop the playlist, and continue to access the files if their location or sharing permissions change.
2. Create a YouTube Live stream

Open YouTube Studio and go to Create > Go live. Select the encoder or streaming-software workflow and create or select the stream. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions cover the Live Control Room flow.

Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the stream into the corresponding destination settings in your encoder. The key is a credential that authorizes the encoder to send the feed. Keep it private; do not put it in a public playlist, screenshot, or video. If it is exposed, reset it in the stream settings. See YouTube’s stream settings guidance.

Choose the intended stream visibility and complete the stream details in Live Control Room. Do not publish a public broadcast until you have checked rights, audio, and the visual output.
3. Configure and test the encoder
Set the encoder to send the audio and visual content you intend to broadcast, with the YouTube stream URL and key as its destination. Exact playlist import, looping controls, and encoding labels vary by encoder, so use that product’s current instructions rather than assuming Drive itself will handle playback.
Use a reliable wired connection where possible and leave upload-capacity headroom above the stream’s bitrate. YouTube warns that a connection interruption can break a stream; its streaming tips recommend sufficient outbound bandwidth and a reliable network. The appropriate bitrate depends on the output settings and connection, so do not select one that consumes all available upload capacity.

Run a private or unlisted test stream first. In Live Control Room, wait for the incoming feed preview and check that the stream is reachable. Listen for clean audio, confirm the video or still image is present, and verify that the playlist advances and returns to its beginning as intended. YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend previewing the feed and monitoring the broadcast.

4. Start and monitor the broadcast

Start the encoder and confirm that Live Control Room receives the feed before starting the YouTube broadcast.

Check the public watch page from a separate device or browser. Confirm sound, picture, stream status, and that the correct stream is playing.

Keep the encoder, its media source, power, and network running for as long as you want the local stream to continue. Monitor audio and video during operation. If you keep a local archive, check that the recording is being written and growing as expected.

When ending the broadcast, stop the stream in the encoder and confirm the live event has ended in YouTube Studio.

What 24/7 means with a local setup
A locally encoded stream depends on the computer, encoder software, file access, power, and internet connection staying available. A computer sleep setting, software crash, router outage, Drive permission change, or exhausted upload capacity can interrupt playback. YouTube’s general streaming advice helps with preparation and monitoring; it does not guarantee that a home computer, internet service, Drive connection, or encoder will stay online continuously.
Before leaving a local stream unattended, disable sleep for the required period, prevent automatic restarts from disrupting the encoder where practical, test recovery after a brief network interruption, and ensure the playlist files are available locally or through a stable, tested authenticated connection. A home setup may be inexpensive if the equipment and connection are already available, but you remain responsible for keeping and recovering it.

The encoder cannot open a Drive track: confirm you are signed in or otherwise authorized, the file still exists, and the encoder supports the way you are supplying it. Test with an authorized download to local storage; a normal share URL is not proof of direct continuous playback support.

The playlist stops after one pass or skips tracks: check the encoder’s own playlist order and repeat settings, then test a full cycle before going live. Drive stores the files; the encoder or streaming service must provide the playback and looping behavior.

YouTube shows no incoming feed: confirm the encoder is running, the selected stream URL and key correspond to the intended event, and outbound connectivity is available. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the encoder.

The stream disconnects or buffers: check internet stability and available upload capacity against the chosen bitrate, and reduce the output demand if the connection cannot sustain it. A local encoder must reconnect and resume playback; do not assume YouTube will repair every local or network failure.

The audio is silent, distorted, or unexpectedly quiet: inspect the encoder’s selected audio source and levels, then listen to the Live Control Room preview and watch page before making the event public.

YouTube interrupts the live stream for copyright: identify the matched material and resolve the rights issue with the appropriate rights owner. A license does not necessarily prevent live interruption if the owner has not allowlisted the channel.
