What Apple can blur
The request applies to your own house in Apple’s Look Around imagery—the street-level panoramic photographs published in Apple Maps. Apple separately says that faces and license plates are automatically blurred before imagery is published, and it accepts requests to blur a user’s own house.

A successful request does not remove every depiction of your property. It does not establish removal from aerial or satellite imagery, photographs hosted by other services, real-estate listings, social-media posts or what someone can see from a public street. If the image you are concerned about is not Apple Look Around imagery, this process is not the appropriate remedy.
Blur your house from Apple Maps on an iPhone or iPad
- Find the property. Open Apple Maps and search for the exact street address.
- Open Look Around. If street-level imagery is available, select the Look Around preview or control and move through the view until your residence is clearly visible.
- Open the reporting control. Use Report an Issue from the imagery or map controls. Apple’s iPhone documentation also places reporting under your profile picture or initials, then Reports, followed by Report a New Issue.
- Choose the privacy or imagery issue. Select the option for obscuring a home, when that option is shown. Explain that the image shows your own house and identify the exact building, entrance or camera angle. Include enough detail for Apple to distinguish your residence from neighboring properties.
- Submit the report. Check the address and description before sending. Menus and labels can vary by iOS version, device and region; Apple documents the reporting entry points, not one permanent label for every release.
If “Report an Issue” is unavailable
Send an email to [email protected]. State plainly that you are requesting your own house be blurred in Apple Maps Look Around imagery. Include:

- Your name and an email address where Apple can contact you.
- The complete postal address of the property.
- A screenshot of the Look Around frame, if possible.
- Useful identifying details, such as which side of the street the house is on, the visible entrance or the direction in which the camera is facing.
Apple says it may request additional information and communicate by email to resolve a report. Do not include unrelated documents or other people’s personal information; provide only what is needed to identify the correct image.
Which reporting method should you use?

Both routes concern Apple’s published Look Around imagery. Neither route controls imagery maintained by another company or removes information that is publicly visible outside Apple Maps.

What information Apple associates with a report
Apple says a home-blur request or other report about a home can be associated with your Apple Account or email address. Depending on the report, contextual information may include the map image shown before filing, zoom level, most recent search term, location, device and operating-system details, and the Look Around viewing direction and angle. Apple also receives information you choose to submit, such as your description or an attached screenshot.
Apple says information associated with an account or email may be stored for up to two years to understand reporting trends. It states that certain copyright-related reports may be retained for up to five years. Those retention periods describe how Apple handles report information; they are not a promise that a blur request will be completed within a particular period.

What to expect after submitting
- No guaranteed timetable: Apple’s cited materials do not publish a service-level response time.
- No guaranteed permanence period: Apple does not promise how long an approved blur will remain or how quickly every version of imagery will update.
- Correct view matters: A precise address and screenshot reduce the chance that Apple reviews a neighboring property or a different camera position.
- Check the result later: If the image remains visible after Apple has had an opportunity to process the request, submit a new, more specific report or follow up by email, referencing the original details.
Common limitations and mistakes
Confusing Look Around with aerial imagery
Look Around is the street-level view opened from a mapped road. A roof or lot seen from above is a different imagery type, so a Look Around blur request should not be described as removal from satellite or aerial photos.
Reporting someone else’s property
Apple’s stated request is for your own house. If you are reporting another person’s home, explain the separate privacy or safety basis rather than claiming ownership.

Giving an imprecise location
“My house” may not be enough on a multi-unit building or corner lot. Identify the unit or structure, the street-facing side and the approximate camera direction without disclosing unnecessary personal details.

Window film, curtains, cameras and alarms can affect what is visible in the future, but they cannot alter an image already hosted by Apple. The reporting route is the relevant action for published Look Around imagery.
The Bottom Line
Open your address in Apple Maps, enter Look Around and submit Report an Issue requesting that your own house be blurred. If that control is unavailable, email [email protected] with the exact address and identifying image details. The request targets Apple Look Around only, and Apple publishes no guaranteed processing time or permanence period.
