1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFirst identify where the silence occurs: between separate tracks, inside a recording, or at the point where one file loops back to its beginning. Each has a different fix. For a gap between Spotify tracks, enable Gapless playback; for silence already in a file, edit the audio. A crossfade can soften a rough join, but it overlaps sound rather than preserving a strict boundary.
Find where the silence comes from
Listen closely to the transition and, if possible, inspect the source recording around it. A pause between two tracks is different from quiet audio at the end of one file. A single repeated recording may also have a pause or abrupt join where its end returns to its start.
- Between tracks: the player may be inserting a pause. Try its gapless playback setting.
- Within one file or at its loop boundary: inspect the audio itself. A player setting cannot remove silence that is part of the recording.
- Unsure: listen to the source file around the transition, not only through the streaming setup. This helps separate a source-file issue from a playback-route issue.
Fix pauses between Spotify tracks
Spotify describes Gapless playback as removing gaps or pauses between tracks. Its support page gives setting paths for mobile/tablet and desktop; the labels or availability may change over time. [Spotify Support: Transitions between tracks]
- Open Spotify’s Playback settings on the device playing the stream.
- Enable Gapless playback.
- Keep Crossfade off or at zero if you want tracks to meet without overlapping. If a blended transition is acceptable, try a modest crossfade and listen for overlap with words or ambience.
- Check the transition again from the same playback route you use for the meditation stream.
Gapless playback and crossfade are not the same remedy. Gapless playback aims to remove a player-added pause; crossfade fades one track out while the next fades in, overlapping them. Spotify says these transition controls cannot be set when using Spotify Connect. If you are using Connect, switch to local playback if practical, then check the setting there. - 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Make sure repeat mode is doing what you expect
Repeat selection controls what repeats, not whether transitions are gapless. Spotify’s Web API distinguishes repeating the current track from repeating the current context, such as a playlist; its repeat-mode endpoint requires Premium. [Spotify for Developers: Set Repeat Mode]
Remove unwanted silence from a recording
If the quiet is in the source, edit the file rather than relying on a playback transition setting. Audacity notes that audio can begin or end with short silence and describes selecting and deleting unwanted leading or trailing silence. [Audacity Manual: Creating a Crossfade]

- Open the recording in an audio editor and inspect the beginning and end of the waveform.
- Listen to the quiet sections before removing them. Do not trim pauses, breathing room, or soft ambience that are intentional parts of the meditation.
- Select only the unwanted silence at the start or end and remove it.
- Listen to the edited beginning and end, then repeat the file to check whether the join sounds natural.
Smooth an abrupt loop join with a crossfade
If the end-to-start join clicks or sounds abrupt, blend the end into the beginning with a crossfade. Audacity describes the purpose of a crossfade as producing a smooth transition between two sections of audio. [Audacity Manual: Creating a Crossfade] Its Crossfade Clips guidance describes blending clips; a crossfade changes the transition by overlapping audio, so it does not preserve a strict no-overlap boundary. [Audacity Manual: Crossfade Clips]
After editing, audition the loop repeatedly. A transition that sounds smooth once may still make a voice, sustained note, or ambience seem to jump when heard continuously.

Choose the remedy that matches the problem
| Method | What it changes | When it may help | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gapless playback | Removes a player-added pause between tracks | The app supports gapless transitions and silence is not embedded in the source | It is not a universal fix across every app, device, casting route, or single-file loop |
| Crossfade | Overlaps audio while fading the outgoing and incoming sections | A blended, gentle transition is acceptable | It changes the boundary and can overlap words or ambience |
| Trim source silence | Removes quiet material at the beginning or end of a file | The pause is present in the recording | It can remove intentional breathing room or atmosphere |
| Crossfade the loop boundary | Blends the file’s end into its beginning | The join is abrupt or clicks | It changes the recording’s timing and texture |
| A-B repeat | Repeats a selected segment | The app’s track-repeat behavior does not suit the passage | It requires another player or local access; seamless playback is not guaranteed |
Use A-B repeat for a chosen passage
VLC for Android documentation version 3.5 describes A-B repeat, which loops audio between selected start and end points. It can be useful when you want to repeat a particular passage instead of relying on track-repeat behavior, but the documentation does not promise that every selected loop will be seamless. [VideoLAN: Audio Player — VLC for Android Documentation 3.5]
Find and trim silence in a batch or technical workflow
FFmpeg documents silencedetect for locating quiet regions and silenceremove for removing qualifying silence from the beginning, middle, or end of audio. These filters depend on chosen thresholds; do not apply them blindly to meditation audio, where quiet may be intentional. Listen to the detected regions and resulting file before using it in a continuous stream. [FFmpeg Filters Documentation]

Troubleshoot if the gap remains
- Gap between Spotify tracks persists: verify Gapless playback in Playback settings, then test with local playback if you were using Spotify Connect. Spotify says its transition controls cannot be set through Connect. [Spotify Support: Transitions between tracks]
- A single repeated file still pauses: inspect the source file’s end and beginning. Gapless track playback addresses pauses between tracks, not silence embedded in a file.
- The pause disappears but the join sounds harsh: use a crossfade only if overlap is acceptable, and audition the transition for doubled words or altered ambience.
- Automatic silence removal cuts the meditation: restore the original and use a less aggressive threshold or trim only the unwanted section manually. Quiet content can be mistaken for silence.
- The transition changes on another device or playback route: recheck there. There is no universal guarantee across apps, devices, speakers, browsers, or casting routes.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you publish a pre-recorded meditation as a continuous YouTube live stream, StreamNeo can loop uploaded videos from the cloud. The audio still needs an appropriate edit: cloud streaming does not remove silence that is part of your source recording.
- Upload your recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so your computer does not have to stay on.
Nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams the upload at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube and plays uploaded videos; it does not go live from a camera. See StreamNeo, or start your free first day.
