If your LG TV keeps showing a store-style product demonstration or promotional message, switch it from Store Mode to Home Mode. If the banner is a recommendation on the Home menu, turn off Content Recommendation instead. The right fix depends on where the banner appears.
Turn off Store Mode for a repeating promotional banner
Store Mode is intended for retail displays and can show related messages or advertisements. LG’s US support guidance recommends Home Mode for ordinary home use. The menu route depends on your webOS generation, and labels may vary by model.
webOS 23 or 24
- Open Settings.
- Select Support.
- Choose Home/Store Mode, then select Home Mode.
webOS 21 or 22
- Open All Settings.
- Go to General → Devices → TV Management → Home/Store Mode.
- Select Home Mode.
webOS 5.0 or older
- Open All Settings.
- Go to General → Additional Settings.
- Select Home Mode. Some models label this setting Home/Store Mode.

The latter also covers older menu families, including webOS 4.0 and older NetCast/general TV menus; consult it if your model does not match the paths above. If the banner appears on the Home menu rather than over a TV program or input, LG documents a separate control for recommendations:
- Open All Settings.
- Go to General → System → Additional Settings → Home Settings.
- Turn off Content Recommendation.
This setting addresses Home menu recommendations; it is not a universal switch for every banner. See LG’s guidance on advertising messages or images.
If the banner remains
“Banner” can describe different on-screen items. If neither the Store Mode setting nor the Home menu recommendation control fits what you see, note the exact wording and where it appears—for example, while watching a channel, on an input, or only inside an app. The cited LG guidance does not establish one remedy for channel information, input labels, alerts, or overlays from third-party apps, so the message’s location and text are needed to identify the next step.
