Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →If an auto clicker is landing in the wrong place, first check what its coordinates are measured from: the whole screen, the active window, or the window’s client area. Then check Windows display scaling and monitor placement. A coordinate recorded in one frame of reference—or under one display setup—may no longer identify the intended target.
Pause the clicker and identify what it targets
Stop the automation before changing settings, especially if an unintended click could submit a form, delete something, or make a purchase. Identify the clicker or scripting tool, the target application, and which monitor the target window is on. Settings for AutoHotkey do not automatically apply to other auto-clickers.

Think of a saved point as a pair of coordinates plus an origin. The same point can mean different locations depending on whether the origin is the desktop, a window, or the usable area inside that window.
Set the coordinate mode to match the saved point
For AutoHotkey v2, CoordMode determines whether mouse coordinates are relative to the entire screen, the active window, or its client area. If you omit it, built-in mouse functions default to Client coordinates. A newly launched script thread also starts with the default setting, so set the mode deliberately during startup when your script relies on a different origin.

- 【Effortless Browsing】Equipped with forward and backward buttons, this computer mice streamlines your workflow, making it easy to navigate through web pages and files with a simple click. 📌Side button does not work on Mac.
- 【Visible Indicator Light】 The pc mouse features a visual indicator for DPI levels and low battery alerts. The red light flashes once for 800 DPI, twice for 1200 DPI, and three times for 1600 DPI. When the battery level is below 10%, the light flashes red until the mouse is completely out of power.
- 【Click to Wake】With smart sleep mode, it saves power by standby after 10 inactive minutes, just 2-3 clicks to wake. This efficient design delivers 3x longer battery life than motion-wake mice. Engineered for durability, its buttons and scroll wheel are tested for 10 million clicks, ensuring long-term reliability and consistent performance.
- Screen: Coordinates are relative to the desktop. Use this when the recorded point is a desktop position.
- Window: Coordinates are relative to the active window. Use this when the point was measured from that window.
- Client: Coordinates are relative to the window’s client area. Use this when the point was measured inside that area.
Make the saved coordinate and the mode agree. For example, changing a script to Screen does not fix a point recorded relative to a window; it changes how that same numeric point is interpreted. If the active window can change, verify that the intended window is active before using Window or Client coordinates.
Check Windows display scaling, not just resolution
Windows display scaling changes the apparent size and location of interface elements without changing the physical pixel count. As Microsoft explains, “Changing the dpi setting is not the same as changing the screen resolution.” Windows can also expose both logical and physical coordinate systems; a point expressed in one may not match the same numeric point in the other.

Check whether display scaling, resolution, docking, or the target window’s position changed after the script started. Compare the scale setting on the monitor containing the target with the settings on your other displays. Do not assume that multiplying coordinates by a simple scale factor will work: coordinate behavior can depend on the program’s DPI awareness, Windows APIs, and where a window sits on a mixed-scale desktop. AutoHotkey’s DPI scaling notes describe cases where coordinates on non-primary screens can behave unexpectedly, particularly when monitors use different scales or scaling changes after a program launches.

- Leave the clicker paused and restore the display arrangement and scaling you intend to use.
- Choose the coordinate origin the script will use, then measure the target relative to that origin.
- Update the saved point and confirm the relevant AutoHotkey v2 mouse operation uses the matching CoordMode.
- Test on a harmless target before allowing clicks that could change or submit anything.
If the clicker is not AutoHotkey, find its own coordinate-origin and display-scaling settings; AutoHotkey commands cannot configure another application.

Consider targeting a window control instead of a desktop point
A fixed desktop coordinate is quick to set up, but it depends on the target staying in the expected position and the display setup remaining compatible. If the application exposes accessible controls, a control-targeted method may avoid some dependence on screen position. AutoHotkey v1’s ControlClick documentation describes targeting a control by identifier or using coordinates relative to the target window. Whether a usable control identifier exists—and whether that method works reliably—depends on the application. This v1 documentation is not a v2 setup guide.

Keep logical cursor coordinates distinct from physical UI Automation coordinates. Microsoft documents that mixing coordinate types can produce incorrect results in some UI Automation scenarios. For that specific mismatch, its guidance is to make the client DPI-aware and use physical cursor coordinates. The APIs it describes, including SetProcessDPIAware and GetPhysicalCursorPos, address that documented UI Automation case; they are not a universal fix for every auto-clicker.
