To start the MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls trial, open its PS5 page in PlayStation Store, choose the Game Trial offer, and follow the prompts to meet the membership requirement, download the trial and launch it. The official US listing describes a three-hour full-game trial for PlayStation Plus Premium members. The offer began on October 7, 2026; no universal end date is published in the official materials reviewed, so check the live listing for your store region.
What the PS Plus trial includes
This is a full-game trial on PS5, delivered through the PlayStation Store. It is different from the July open beta: the beta was a separate, time-limited test event, while the current offer is a Game Trial attached to the retail game page.

| Detail | Officially established information |
|---|---|
| Platform | PS5 |
| Trial type | Full-game Game Trial |
| Trial length | Three hours |
| US membership condition | PlayStation Plus Premium |
| Announcement/start date | October 7, 2026 |
The three-hour figure and Premium requirement come from the official US product listing, and the October 7 start date comes from PlayStation’s announcement. PlayStation Store offers can differ by country, including the name of the qualifying Plus tier, so treat the US tier name as a regional example rather than a worldwide rule.

Do you need PlayStation Plus?
You need the qualifying PlayStation Plus membership shown on your regional Game Trial listing to download and start the trial. In the United States, that listing identifies PlayStation Plus Premium. If your local store shows another tier name or does not show the offer, follow that storefront rather than assuming the US entitlement applies to your account.
#1 Best Overall
- Assemble your team of legendary Marvel characters in the ultimate 4v4 tag team fighter from PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works and Marvel Games.
- Experiment with team compositions to discover new combos, synergies, and strategies. Blast your way through dynamic stages based on iconic Marvel Universe locales, some featuring interactive stage transitions.
- Fighting is both immersive and intuitive, with a range of unique move sets, combos, and strategies to master. Adjustable controls, both traditional and quick inputs, plus easy chain combos make diving right in a breeze.
- Face off against a friend locally or join the fray with up to 64 players in the online lobby, including standard VS modes. Plus, dive deep on each team with the single player Episode Mode to learn more about team dynamics and lore.
That requirement applies to the trial offer itself. It should not be confused with the requirements for the complete game after purchase. PlayStation’s FAQ states that offline modes on PS5 do not require PlayStation Plus. PS5 online modes do require an internet connection and PlayStation Plus. Therefore, a player who buys the game can use supported offline content without Plus, but online features still follow PlayStation’s normal membership rule.
The official materials do not establish a PC version of the trial. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is listed for PC as well as PS5, but the documented Game Trial is tied to the PS5 Store listing. Do not expect the PS5 trial entitlement to appear automatically on a PC storefront.
Before you start
Prepare the account and console so the Store page can display the correct offer:
- Use a PS5 connected to the internet and signed in to the PlayStation account that will play the trial.
- Open the PlayStation Store on that console, not a PC listing, because the documented offer is attached to the PS5 game page.
- Check the Plus plan currently active on the account. The US listing requires Premium; your region may use a different tier label.
- Make sure the console has enough free storage for the game download and any updates. The official sources do not publish a required storage figure, so use the free-space estimate shown by your console.
- Have your account’s payment or subscription details available if the Store asks you to subscribe before downloading. The trial’s membership condition is separate from buying the game.
How to start the trial on PS5
- Open PlayStation Store. From the PS5 home screen, select the Store icon.
- Search for the game. Enter MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls and open the PS5 game page. Check that you are viewing the PS5 listing, not a PC product page.
- Find the Game Trial offer. On the product page, look for the option labelled Game Trial. The US listing describes this as the three-hour full-game trial.
- Review the membership prompt. If the account lacks the qualifying plan, the Store will direct you to subscribe or upgrade. Read the tier and terms shown for your account and region; do not rely on the US Premium label if your storefront presents a different requirement.
- Confirm the offer and download. Follow the on-screen prompts to add or download the trial. The exact confirmation wording can vary by account and region, so use the control the Store presents after you select Game Trial.
- Launch from the library or game page. When installation finishes, start the game from the PS5 home screen, Game Library or the Store page. If an update is offered, let it install before launching.
- Use the available trial time. The official offer grants three hours of access. The source materials do not explain how the timer is calculated, whether it runs while the application is suspended, or how it behaves after a disconnect, so avoid assuming that pausing or closing the game preserves a particular amount of time.
PlayStation’s published instructions identify the Game Trial designation but do not document every button label for every account configuration. If your screen uses slightly different wording, select the Store control that clearly identifies the Game Trial rather than a purchase edition or a beta listing.
Trial, open beta and full purchase are different offers
Game Trial
The Game Trial is the PS5 Store offer described above. It provides a limited period with the full game and is tied to the Plus membership condition shown by the storefront. The official US listing identifies a three-hour allowance.
July open beta
The July open beta was a separate, scheduled event. Its timing and access rules should not be used to infer how the current Game Trial works. Seeing references to the beta on older pages does not mean that the beta is still downloadable or that it substitutes for the Store trial.

Buying the game
Buying a paid edition is the route for continued access after the trial allowance. The official product page lists paid editions, but the reviewed materials do not state whether trial progress carries into a purchased copy. Do not assume that saves, unlocks or settings will transfer unless the Store or the publisher explicitly confirms it for your account and edition.

|---|---|---|
| Game Trial | Try the PS5 full game for the allowance shown on the listing | Requires the qualifying Plus tier shown for the region; continued access after the allowance is not established |
| Purchase | Own a paid edition for ongoing game access | Offline PS5 modes do not require Plus; online modes require internet access and Plus |
What happens when the trial time is used
The official sources confirm the allowance but do not describe the end-of-session screen, whether the application closes automatically, or how a purchased edition recognizes a prior trial. When the allowance expires, use the Store page to review the available paid editions if you want to continue. Keep any saved data until you have checked the game’s own prompts and the Store account used for the trial.
Because no progress-carry-over policy is published in the available materials, plan on the possibility that trial progress may not transfer. This is a qualification, not a statement that transfer is impossible; verify the current on-console message for your region and edition before deleting saved data.
If the Game Trial option is missing
Work through these checks in order. They address the documented regional and account uncertainties without assuming an unverified interface detail.
Confirm the product page and platform
Search again from the PS5’s PlayStation Store and open the PS5 game page. A PC listing or a page for another edition may not display a PS5 Game Trial control.
Check the account’s Store region
The published evidence confirms the offer on the US listing, not every national storefront. If the account is registered in another country, the trial may use a different Plus tier name, appear later, or be unavailable. Switch neither your account region nor billing details casually; instead, check the current listing for the account you actually use.

Verify membership status
Review the active Plus plan under the account’s subscription settings. In the United States, the listing specifies Premium. If the Store asks for a subscription or upgrade, read the displayed eligibility text before accepting it.
Refresh the Store and console
Close the Store, restart the PS5 and search for the title again. Store catalog changes can take time to appear on a previously opened page. This is a general troubleshooting step; PlayStation has not published a special cache-clearing procedure for this trial.
Look for a current offer notice
The announcement confirms a start date of October 7, 2026, but does not publish a universal end date. If the Game Trial control has been removed, read the live regional listing for availability information rather than relying on an old announcement or a search result.
Contact PlayStation Support when the listing qualifies but access still fails
If the correct PS5 page shows a qualifying offer and membership yet the download cannot be completed, record the account region, console platform, displayed tier and exact error message before contacting support. Those details help distinguish a catalog issue from an account or download problem.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Online play, offline play and the trial requirement
There are two separate questions: whether Plus unlocks the Store trial, and whether Plus is needed for a mode inside the full game. The first is answered by the Game Trial listing: the US offer requires Premium. The second is answered by PlayStation’s FAQ: offline PS5 modes do not require Plus, while PS5 online modes require both internet access and Plus.
This distinction matters if you decide to buy the game after trying it. Ending or cancelling a Plus subscription can affect online access, but it does not turn offline content into an online-only feature. Conversely, having Plus does not create a PC trial entitlement when the documented offer is for PS5.

- STRATEGIC GAME: Focusing on 4v4 battles, the game offers in-depth tactical mechanics. Players must use the unique abilities and synergies of their heroes to outlast opponents, which require both strategic thinking and quick decision making to succeed on the battlefield.
- VERSATILE OF CHARACTERISTICS: A wide selection of Marvel legendary characters are available, giving gamers freedom to pick their favourite heroes and villains. Each character has their own unique abilities and playing styles, which offer variety and customization in each game.
- STORY MODE: The game includes a full voice-acting story mode available in 10 different languages. This brings a deeper and more engaging experience, where gamers can enjoy a rich and multi-faceted story with their favorite characters.
- MULTIPLE AVAILABILITY: By offering the story mode in ten different languages, the game has a wide international appeal. This makes it more accessible to a global audience and allows more players to enjoy the game's story and characters in their native language.
Controllers and other hardware
You do not need special hardware to start the trial. PlayStation confirms support for PS5-compatible arcade sticks and leverless controllers, so those are optional choices for players who prefer an arcade-style control layout. A standard compatible PS5 controller remains the simplest way to begin; no specific arcade-stick model is required by the offer.

Regional availability and dates
PlayStation announced the Game Trial on October 7, 2026. The official US listing supplies the clearest published details: PS5, a three-hour full-game allowance and PlayStation Plus Premium eligibility. Store catalogs are regional, so the tier label, language, price displays and availability notice on your account may differ.
No end date is established in the official materials reviewed. That means an article, video or social post that says the trial ends on a particular day may be outdated or region-specific. The reliable check is the Game Trial panel on your current PlayStation Store listing.
Can you start it on PC?
Not on the evidence currently available. The game has a PC listing, but the documented trial is explicitly associated with the PS5 Store page. The sources do not establish a PC Game Trial, a PC Plus entitlement or a cross-platform trial timer. If you play on PC, consult the current PC storefront separately for any trial or demo that it may list; do not treat the PS5 offer as proof of PC availability.
A practical decision guide
Choose the trial first when you want to test the game
Use the Game Trial if you have the qualifying regional Plus membership and want a limited hands-on session before buying. Start from the PS5 Store page, confirm the Game Trial label and note the account and region shown before downloading.
Buy directly when you already know you want ongoing access
A paid edition avoids relying on the trial allowance for future sessions. Remember that offline PS5 modes do not require Plus, while online modes do. Review the edition details on your Store page before purchasing.
Wait and verify when the offer is unclear
If the trial control is absent, your account is outside the US, or the Store shows a different Plus tier, do not infer eligibility from the US listing. Check the local page and the account’s subscription status first. This prevents subscribing to the wrong tier or mistaking the old open beta for the current offer.
