Remedy confirms the repeat-run feature, but its patch notes do not spell out the exact menu interaction for starting a later cycle. The official carryover rules cover New Game+: combat progression and artifacts persist, while traversal abilities reset. Remedy has not separately listed every item transferred through each subsequent NG++ cycle.
How to start New Game++
Install update 1.4.0 or later, then use the game’s New Game+ transition after completing a run. Remedy says the update allows players to play an “infinite number of runs” in New Game++. Its notes do not specify the exact prompt or button sequence for starting the second or a later cycle, so follow the current in-game prompt rather than relying on an unverified NG++ button guide.

For context, an October 1, 2026 third-party guide describes the original New Game+ entry point: after the campaign epilogue, use the Hedron illustration on the abilities mural in the Gap. It lists D-pad Down to enter the Gap, hold L1 while facing the illustration, then press X and confirm Yes. Those are instructions for the original NG+ flow, not an officially documented NG++ sequence. See AllThingsHow’s guide to the original New Game+ flow for that attributed account.
Remedy’s update also raises the main-menu save-slot count from five to seven and says New Game+ runs and the original run are stored in separate save folders. It does not explain the precise save behavior across every later NG++ transition. Keep the save you intend to preserve and check the game’s prompt before confirming a new run. What carries over—and what resets
Remedy’s published carryover list is for New Game+. Lead Gameplay Designer Sergey Mohov says the following persist into the next run:
- Aberrant upgrades
- Health improvements
- Combat-ability resource improvements
- Unlocked supernatural combat abilities
- Talents
- Artifacts
Traversal abilities do not persist; Remedy says they are tied to story progression and the way the world unfolds. The full guidance appears in Mohov’s April 30, 2026 PlayStation Blog explanation of New Game+.

That is the official NG+ rule, not a separately itemized guarantee for every later NG++ cycle. Update 1.4.0 confirms unlimited runs but does not publish a fresh carryover inventory for the second and subsequent completions. The established NG+ behavior is a reasonable expectation for repeat cycles, but the official sources cited here do not confirm each category independently for NG++.
Remedy’s published carryover statement does not enumerate quests, map state, materials, cosmetics, or individual collectibles. Their status in a later cycle is therefore not established by these sources; do not assume they all persist or all reset.

What changes in New Game+
Remedy describes several NG+ changes that make a replay different from the initial run. They are NG+ features, not bonuses Remedy says are newly added or increased with each NG++ cycle.

What replaying can help you do
Remedy says New Game+ lets players revisit missed World Quests, bounties, and collectibles. It also notes that some side stories and conversations can have different outcomes. That is not a promise that every choice changes, nor does it establish that a particular ending requires NG+ or NG++.
