To access Echoes of Sekigahara, make sure you own the expansion and install Ghost of Yōtei patch v.2.0. Existing game owners can get it through the Complete Edition Upgrade; players new to the game can buy the Complete Edition. The official announcements do not identify the exact quest, menu option, or map marker that starts the DLC, so don’t rely on an unverified trigger.
1. Check that your edition includes the expansion
| Your situation | What to get | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| You already own Ghost of Yōtei | Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Upgrade | Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted, according to PlayStation’s August 12, 2026 announcement. PlayStation.Blog |
| You do not own the base game | Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition | The base game, Echoes of Sekigahara, and Most Wanted, according to the same announcement. PlayStation.Blog |
If you already own the game, check the digital upgrade in PlayStation Store rather than buying another copy. The announcement listed U.S. prices of $14.99 for the upgrade and $69.99 for the Complete Edition at the time; prices and availability may differ by region and can change. The physical Complete Edition was announced for October 1, 2026, but check local retailer listings before choosing a format. PlayStation.Blog

2. Install patch v.2.0
PlayStation announced patch v.2.0 as the release mechanism for the expansion. Its announced rollout was October 1, 2026 globally, with October 2 in some territories, including Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Those dates have passed, although regional availability can still vary. Downloading the patch requires an internet connection and a PlayStation account. PlayStation.Blog
3. Find the in-game start point
The official announcements reviewed do not say which quest, menu option, map marker, or story milestone launches Echoes of Sekigahara. They establish the ownership and patch requirements, but not an exact click-by-click start path. After confirming the DLC is included and patch v.2.0 is installed, check the current game for a prompt or new quest, or consult official post-launch guidance. Don’t treat a particular marker or progression requirement as confirmed unless current guidance names it.

What the DLC is about
Sucker Punch describes Echoes of Sekigahara as a narrative expansion that moves between Atsu’s present and her past during the Battle of Sekigahara. In the present-day story, Nagato, a figure from Atsu’s past, arrives in Ezo. Atsu joins him to search for an ally taken by the Vipers in the previously unseen Ashoro Foothills. The announcement also lists new enemy types, heavy weapons, mythic tales and abilities, armor sets, and cosmetics. PlayStation.Blog
Most Wanted is a separate single-player combat survival mode included in the same Complete Edition offering; it is not the name of the story expansion. PlayStation.Blog
