To start a Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraising page, find your local event, register, customize the page in the Participant Center, then share its link with people you know. You can fundraise on your own; creating a team is optional.
1. Find your local Walk and register

Open the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk finder and select your community’s event.

On the event page, choose the registration option and follow the steps shown for that Walk. Event pages can differ, so use the current instructions displayed for your location.

If you want to lead a team, select “Start a team” during registration. The Association’s South Carolina chapter says a new participant who chooses this option is designated team captain. Returning participants can log in and choose to start a team or restart a prior one. See the chapter’s registration guidance.

2. Customize your fundraising page

After registering, sign in to the Participant Center and open “My Page.”

Add a photo and write or edit the story explaining why you are walking. A few clear sentences about your motivation can help supporters understand why you are asking them to give. You can share a personal connection if you wish, but you do not have to disclose private health or family details.

Review the page before sharing so the story and photo reflect what you are comfortable making public.

The Association’s chapter instructions describe adding a photo and customizing the story in “My Page”; follow the current labels and steps in your event account if the interface has changed. South Carolina chapter instructions.
3. Share the page and ask for support
Send the page link to friends, family, and coworkers by email or text, share it on social networks, and mention it in conversation. A direct personal invitation makes it easy for someone to ask questions or join your team rather than donate.

The Association’s Vermont event FAQ also describes using the ALZ Fundraising app to receive donation notifications, text supporters, update a page, and share a story socially. Choose a team if you have time to invite and coordinate people. If not, an individual page is a straightforward way to participate.

5. Check local donation and event rules
Accepted payment methods and event terms may vary by location. The Vermont FAQ lists online donations, mailed checks or money orders, and hand delivery of cash, checks, or money orders to the local chapter. Do not assume those options apply to every Walk. Check your event page or contact its local chapter for accepted methods, deadlines, receipts, refund rules, and how funds are allocated.
If your workplace may offer matching gifts or workplace giving, ask your employer which rules apply. The Association’s 2026 New York City charity application asks about workplace giving, but that does not establish that every walker or employer is eligible. 2026 NYC charity application.
