You can run a 24/7 bhajan “radio” channel on YouTube by sending a repeating playlist to YouTube Live through an encoder. An ordinary YouTube playlist is not a continuous live broadcast. Before you build yours, clear the rights for every recording and song, confirm that your channel can livestream, then test the audio, visuals, connection and recovery plan before you make the stream public.
What you need before launch
- A YouTube channel that is eligible to livestream.
- Written permission covering the specific recordings and underlying musical or literary works, for your intended YouTube use and territories.
- A playlist and visual feed that an encoder can send continuously.
- A reliable internet connection, a way to monitor the stream and a plan for outages.
Check livestream eligibility
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days to livestream. Its live-streaming guidance also says creators must be at least 16. Initial activation can take time, so check YouTube Studio’s live controls before preparing a launch. See YouTube’s live-stream setup guidance for current requirements.

Clear rights track by track
Make a rights list before assembling a long playlist. For each track, record the title, performer, recording owner or label, composer and lyricist or publisher where relevant, intended use, and territories. Ask the relevant rightsholders for written permission covering continuous YouTube livestreaming and the visual presentation. Keep the permissions and any conditions on attribution, monetization, duration, territory or Content ID with your channel records.
There can be separate rights in the sound recording and in the musical and literary work embodied in it. The Indian Performing Right Society’s licensing information describes its remit in relation to works in its repertoire and relevant member rights. PPL India’s FAQ says it does not issue digital-platform sound-recording licenses and directs users to individual labels. Neither statement means that one organization clears every bhajan or every right. The necessary permissions depend on the exact track, recording, rightsholders and territories; ask those rightsholders or a qualified Indian copyright professional about your specific playlist.

Plan for Content ID before you go live
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A detected match can cause a placeholder to replace the stream, and continued use can interrupt or terminate it. YouTube advises creators using licensed third-party music to ask the owner to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license by itself does not guarantee that the automated scan will let the broadcast continue. Keep any allowlisting confirmation with the relevant permissions. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
Build the playlist and visual feed
Use material you are authorized to stream
Assemble the playlist only after checking each recording and underlying work. Retain the track-to-permission list so you can identify the relevant rightsholder quickly if YouTube raises a claim. Do not treat a song’s age, devotional subject or availability on another channel as proof that a particular recording is cleared.

Prepare a continuous audio-visual program
The encoder needs to send both sound and a picture to YouTube Live. Prepare the playlist and a suitable visual loop, and verify that the playout method you choose can repeat the planned material rather than stop when it reaches the end. Test the transition between tracks and confirm that the sound and picture remain present through a representative portion of the playlist.

| StreamNeo, a cloud option | StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud to YouTube. | A StreamNeo slot, uploaded material and your YouTube stream key. | StreamNeo is for YouTube and uploaded videos, not a live camera feed. Its plans include looping and playlists; see StreamNeo for the service details. |
| Local encoder such as OBS | A computer running the encoder sends the feed directly to YouTube. | The computer, power, stable upload connection and someone able to monitor or restart it. | Check the encoder’s YouTube compatibility, playlist repeat behavior, connection capacity and local recording setup. OBS Help describes OBS and its connection troubleshooting guidance. |
StreamNeo is listed first because it keeps an uploaded-video stream running from the cloud, with any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot and a free first day. The local route gives you direct control of your encoder, but the computer and connection must remain available.

Local setup with OBS
- Prepare the computer and media. Set up OBS on the computer that will run the stream. Prepare the audio playlist and visual loop, and verify that OBS can play and repeat the material as intended. Keep the computer powered and connected for the duration of the broadcast.
- Create the livestream in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Studio’s live controls and create the live stream. Use the stream details YouTube provides to connect OBS; keep the stream key private.
- Configure the encoder to match your source and connection. Choose a resolution and frame rate suitable for the uploaded or prepared material, then select a bitrate your connection can sustain reliably. Follow YouTube’s current codec, keyframe, audio and bitrate recommendations for the format you choose; its encoder settings guide lists the current specifications and recommended bitrate ranges. Do not raise quality beyond what the source and stable upload capacity support.
- Run a private or otherwise controlled test. Send representative audio and motion, check that YouTube receives the expected picture and sound, and inspect stream-health messages before the public launch. Confirm that the playlist loops and that track changes do not leave a silent or blank feed.
- Go live and monitor it. Watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators and messages. Arrange for someone to respond to a rights notice, connection failure, encoder restart or playlist problem; a local encoder depends on the running computer, power and internet connection.
Choose settings for stability, not a headline resolution
Run an upload-speed test and judge capacity by what the connection sustains consistently, not by a brief peak. YouTube recommends testing with representative audio and video motion and monitoring stream health. The right bitrate depends on the selected video format; consult YouTube’s linked encoder guide for its current ranges and technical settings rather than copying a number for a different resolution or frame rate. If OBS shows increasing dropped frames or a yellow or red connection indicator, its guidance says the connection may be unstable or unable to sustain the chosen bitrate. Reduce the load or resolve the connection problem, then test again. OBS also points users to its auto-configuration wizard for basic settings.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home: no computer, OBS session or home internet connection. It streams the material as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot rather than separate quality tiers, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Every slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, and StreamNeo team support. The same product is included on every plan; only the billing length changes. UPI and cards are available in India, with card checkout worldwide; contact support for five or more slots.

A 24/7 schedule needs an operational plan as well as a playlist. For a local encoder, decide who can check the broadcast and restart the encoder after a computer, power or internet failure. For cloud playout, check the provider’s current recovery behavior and account terms. For either route, keep a response plan for Content ID notices, missing audio or visuals, a playlist that stops repeating, and YouTube stream-health warnings. Do not promise uninterrupted service unless the setup and monitoring support that promise.

Common problems and fixes
- YouTube will not let the channel go live: check verification, recent livestream restrictions and whether initial activation has completed in YouTube Studio.
- The stream is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder: check YouTube’s notice and identify the matched material. Confirm that permission covers the exact recording and work, then contact the relevant rightsholder about Content ID allowlisting. Do not assume that restarting the encoder resolves a rights issue.
- OBS drops frames or shows a poor connection indicator: check the upload connection and reduce the bitrate or other load to a level it can sustain. Test again with representative content and monitor stream health.
- The playlist ends, goes silent or shows a blank visual: verify repeat behavior and transitions in a test before launch; confirm that both audio and video are present throughout the loop.
- The broadcast stops after a local outage: restore power and internet, restart the encoder if needed, and check YouTube’s live controls before resuming. A local setup cannot send a feed while its computer or connection is unavailable.
Do not rely on YouTube for a complete 24-hour replay
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends keeping a local archive backup. Therefore, do not advertise a continuous 24/7 broadcast as one guaranteed complete replay. If a complete recording matters, plan local recording, confirm that the chosen workflow can capture it, and allow enough storage. See YouTube’s archive guidance.
Understand monetization separately from going live
Being able to livestream does not establish eligibility for monetization. YouTube’s Partner Program page lists one route of 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the preceding 12 months, or an alternative of 1,000 subscribers and 10 million qualified Shorts views in the preceding 90 days. The page also lists policy, account and regional requirements and says channels undergo review; the thresholds alone do not guarantee acceptance or income. Check YouTube’s current Partner Program requirements, including its policies for repetitive or minimally changed content, before planning around revenue.
Costs and practical trade-offs
A local setup avoids a cloud-pl playback subscription but relies on equipment, electricity, internet and human monitoring; a dedicated computer is optional, not a guarantee of uptime or a solution to music rights. A cloud option can remove the need to keep a home computer running, but compare the provider’s current terms, playlist behavior, recovery process and archive options. For StreamNeo, the same slot includes the listed features at every billing length, and you can choose a day, week, month, six months or year; the pricing page displays the applicable price by visitor location. Neither local nor cloud playout grants music rights or bypasses YouTube’s livestream rules.
