A continuous broadcast also needs reliable upload capacity, monitoring and a recovery plan. If you need dependable replays, do not rely on one 24-hour broadcast: YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.
1. Confirm your channel can livestream
Check access well before preparing a continuous setup. YouTube’s current guidance says the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and the person livestreaming must be at least 16. Review the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance; YouTube’s interface and rules can change.

Choose stories, narration, visuals and background audio before deciding how to keep the stream running. Use original material or obtain permission for the exact uses you intend, including any story adaptation or translation, narration recording, illustration and music. A story’s age, familiarity or attribution does not establish that a particular adaptation, performance, recording or image is free to use. The rights status of any specific Assamese tale or recording must be checked individually.

Plan a coherent listening experience: consistent narration levels, clear Assamese pronunciation, transitions that do not startle a listener, and visuals appropriate to the intended audience. If you record your own narration, a microphone is an optional tool; monitor the recording for intelligibility and unwanted noise rather than assuming a particular model is required.
3. Choose how to keep the feed running
You have two practical approaches. Neither guarantees uninterrupted playback; YouTube does not promise that a particular setup will stay live indefinitely.

4. Create and connect the YouTube encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule an encoder stream. Use the Live Control Room workflow described in YouTube’s encoder setup guide. Add an accurate title, description and audience setting.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. Enter both in your encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it. If you suspect it has been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Confirm that video and audio arrive as expected in Live Control Room before starting the public broadcast.
- Start the broadcast in the control room. Verify the public watch page and confirm playback from a viewer’s perspective. Reuse a key or saved settings only when they remain appropriate for the stream.
The exact controls can change, so follow the labels shown in your current Live Control Room.

5. Test bandwidth, playback and recovery
Your internet connection needs enough upload capacity for the stream’s total outgoing bitrate, with room to spare for normal variation and other network use. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend bandwidth headroom, testing, preview checks, monitoring and backup encoder failover. A connection that barely matches the encoder bitrate leaves little margin for instability.
- Run a test before launch and inspect the YouTube preview for dropped or degraded video and audio.
- Listen for clipping, silence, excessive background noise, abrupt volume changes and unintended gaps between stories.
- Confirm a viewer can open the watch page and hear the stream on the device they are likely to use.
- Test your backup or failover procedure rather than assuming it will work during an outage.
- Decide who will monitor the feed and what they will do if the encoder stops or connectivity is lost.
For the live stream, maintain a practical way to restart the encoder and reconnect it through Live Control Room. YouTube’s guidance does not guarantee that a dropped broadcast will resume automatically.

6. Plan around YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube says broadcasts shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, and warns: “If your live stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” See YouTube’s archive guidance.

7. Set the audience accurately and understand monetization limits
Made for Kids is an audience designation, not a genre label
Bedtime stories may be intended for children, families or a broader audience. Set the channel or video audience based on the actual intended audience and YouTube’s audience guidance; do not assume every story stream is automatically Made for Kids or automatically not. YouTube restricts features on content marked Made for Kids, including comments, live chat and personalized advertising.
Being able to broadcast is not the same as being eligible to earn
YouTube Partner Program acceptance and compliance with monetization policies are separate from permission to livestream. YouTube’s Partner Program overview sets out eligibility and acceptance, while its channel monetization policies apply to livestreaming and describe repetitive or mass-produced material as inauthentic content. A continuously repeated loop does not guarantee YPP acceptance or ad revenue; the outcome depends on the channel and YouTube’s review.
Troubleshooting common launch problems
- You cannot start a livestream: Recheck verification, the 90-day restriction history and the age requirement in YouTube Studio before changing encoder settings.
- YouTube shows no preview: Check that the encoder is running and that the server URL and stream key match the current event. Keep the key private; replace it if exposed.
- The stream buffers or quality falls: Check available upload bandwidth against total outgoing bitrate, reduce competing network traffic, and test again with more headroom.
- Viewers hear silence or poor audio: Inspect the encoder’s audio input and levels, then listen to the preview and a viewer-side playback test.
- The stream stops after a network or encoder interruption: Follow your restart and reconnection plan, check Live Control Room, and verify playback after reconnecting. Do not assume the broadcast will recover by itself.
- A 24-hour replay is missing: YouTube says streams over 12 hours may not be captured. Use shorter broadcast blocks and separate local recordings when archives are important.
