How to get the Giant Piranha quest bait
- Talk to the woman beside the lake on Island 2. This starts the quest to find three leeches.
- Search the grass and forest on foot. Leeches are ground pickups, not fish to catch with a rod. Look inland through the tall grass. One guide mentions red dots on a radar, but that detail may depend on the guide’s version of the game.
- Collect three leeches and return to the woman. Hand them over to receive the special bait. Guides call it either “Leech Bait” or “Modified Leech”; follow the name shown for the quest item in your game.
Which bait summons the Giant Piranha?
Cast the special bait earned from the three-leech quest into the Island 2 lake. It triggers the Giant Piranha encounter. The Beginner Boss Lure is a separate shop item described in guides as summoning optional mini-bosses; it does not replace the quest bait needed for Island 2 progression.

How to prepare for the boss fight
The Giant Piranha fight includes smaller piranhas, so be ready to move and manage the additional enemies while damaging the boss. Guides report using ranged weapons and healing food; other coverage recommends a shotgun and dodging. These are reported tactics, not a confirmed best build, and combat advice may shift with patches.
Do not rely on a precise health or damage figure to plan the fight. One guide reports 2,500 normal-mode health, but a later guide reviewed against version 1.0.12 says the boss’s exact HP and damage values are undocumented. Treat 2,500 as an unconfirmed guide-reported figure, not an authoritative current statistic.

What to do after defeating the Giant Piranha
Pick up the boss’s progression drop, described in guides as either its tail or the Giant Piranha Skeleton, and carry it back to the woman by the lake. Defeating the boss alone does not complete the progression hand-in: returning the item to her is what unlocks Island 3. Use the item label shown in your current game if it differs from guide wording.
Patch context
A community boss guide says it was last verified on September 16, 2026, for version 1.0.12, and reports that a September 4 patch rebalanced the piranha. Another guide reviewed against version 1.0.12 also says exact health and damage values were not published. Tactical details and item labels can differ across guides, so use the current quest text and item names in your game as the final reference.
