To solve Release the Curse in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Haunted Floating Festival, collect both Haunted Key Fragments, craft the Repaired Haunted Key, light four Jack-o’-Lanterns, and complete the Haunted Library. Then activate the bedroom pillars in this order: Spider Web → Cat → Bat → Witch Hat. Pick up the Lost Magic Page and return it to the Grimoire to receive the Decorative Magic Seal.
Where to find the Haunted Key Fragments
Both fragments are part of the sequence inside the Haunted House on the Haunted Floating Festival island.

Get the first fragment by following the Ghostly Dreamlight Fox
Follow the fox through six spots in the house. Its reported route is:
- The back of the hallway, near the locked bedroom.
- The front of the hallway.
- The main entrance room, beside a sparkling book.
- The storage room, reached from the left side of the main room.
- Beside the crafting table in the main room.
- The back-left corner of the storage room, near a red chest.
At the end of the chase, collect the first Haunted Key Fragment.

Get the second fragment from the lantern task
Find and light four Unlit Jack-o’-Lanterns. The walkthrough reports that you can use a Royal Pickaxe on the white lion statue on the right side of the hallway to obtain a Red Festival Key. Use that key to open a red chest containing lantern candles; other candles are reported around the storage room and chests. If a candle or chest is not in the expected spot, follow the event’s on-screen interaction prompts, since placements may differ after a patch. Completing the lantern task gives you the second Haunted Key Fragment.
Craft the key and unlock the bedroom
- Go to the event crafting station and open the Events category.
- Combine both Haunted Key Fragments to craft the Repaired Haunted Key.
- Use the repaired key to light the four lanterns and unlock the bedroom.
The Haunted Library book sequence is also part of this progression. Retrieve and return books among the bedroom, front room, hallway, and storage room as prompted before moving on to the bedroom pillar puzzle.

Enter the bedroom pillar order
Activate the bedroom symbols in this exact order:
- Spider Web
- Cat
- Bat
- Witch Hat
These are the Release the Curse bedroom pillars. Do not use the order for the separate outdoor Combination Pillar puzzle: that sequence is Spider Web, Bat, Witch Hat, Cat.
Finish the sequence and claim the reward
After solving the bedroom pillars, pick up the Lost Magic Page that appears and return it to the Grimoire on its stand. This completes the sequence and awards the Decorative Magic Seal.

Why guides number this puzzle differently
The name and numbering can be confusing: some event summaries call Release the Curse puzzle 6 and the Haunted Library puzzle 7, while walkthroughs treat the library as a prerequisite within the larger key-and-curse sequence. If you are following a guide labeled “Haunted Key Puzzle #6,” use the full progression above rather than treating the library and bedroom puzzle as unrelated tasks. The event reference records the puzzle as available from October 7, 2026, but does not establish an end date.
