Turn off notifications for just the app you choose in Settings > System > Notifications. This app-level setting works independently of Do not disturb, so you can silence one app without changing how Windows handles notifications from others.
Turn off all notifications from one app
- Open Start > Settings > System > Notifications.
- Under Notifications from apps and other senders, find and select the app.
- Turn off that app’s notification switch.
The change applies to the selected app; you do not need to turn on Do not disturb. Microsoft also documents a shortcut if the app has already sent a notification: in Notification Center, open the notification’s options menu and choose Turn off all notifications. Microsoft’s Windows notification guidance describes both routes.

Silence only banners, sounds, or Notification Center alerts
If you still want some notifications from the app, leave its main notification switch on and adjust the individual options in that app’s settings:
- Turn off Show notification banners to stop pop-up banners.
- Turn off Show notifications in notification center to keep the app’s alerts out of Notification Center.
- Turn off Play a sound to silence the app’s notification sound.
These controls let you reduce interruptions without disabling every notification from the app. Microsoft’s accessibility guidance for focusing on tasks also describes choosing which apps display notifications and adjusting their options.

Why Do not disturb is not needed
Do not disturb is a broader Windows notification mode, with priority and automatic-activation settings. The per-app switch is the appropriate control when the goal is to stop alerts from one app while leaving other apps’ notification settings alone. You can leave Do not disturb off.
