On the web, Coursera offers email sign-in and Google, Facebook, and Apple options; learners whose organization requires single sign-on (SSO) should use the organization’s assigned route instead.
Sign in to Coursera on a computer
- Go to Coursera.org and select Log In.
- Enter the email address linked to your Coursera account, or choose a displayed Google, Facebook, or Apple sign-in option. Use the same identity provider you linked to the account; choosing a different one may not take you to the account you expect.
- If you access Coursera through an organization, follow its assigned sign-in process. Some organization accounts require SSO, with Duo and Okta among the examples Coursera lists.
Coursera’s sign-in page also displays an organization sign-up route. That is for joining an organization program, not a substitute for signing in to an existing personal account.

Sign in on the Coursera mobile app
Open the official Coursera app and use the sign-in method associated with your account, such as its email or linked identity provider. App screens and available options may differ from the website, so follow the prompts shown in your version of the app. If you cannot find the expected option, consult Coursera’s login-settings help.

Reset a forgotten password
- On Coursera.org, select Log In, then choose Forgot password?
- Enter the email address used for the Coursera account and submit the request.
- Open Coursera’s reset email and follow its instructions. If it does not arrive after a few minutes, check your spam folder.
If you normally sign in with Google, Apple, Facebook, or organization SSO, use that method rather than resetting a Coursera password you may not have set. If the reset process still fails, see Coursera’s Troubleshooting login and account issues guidance.

Choose the right sign-in method
Email and password
Use the email address associated with your Coursera account. If you have forgotten its password, use the reset steps above.
Google, Apple, or Facebook
Coursera says learners can link Google, Apple, or Facebook in Settings and then use the linked option to sign in. Its Learner Help Center describes this as allowing learners to log in without entering their Coursera email address or password; that is Coursera’s description, not an independent security assessment.

Organization single sign-on
Some organization-managed accounts require SSO, such as Duo or Okta, and cannot link social accounts for login. If your usual personal sign-in options do not work, check your organization’s instructions or contact its learning-program administrator.
Manage login settings and two-factor authentication
After signing in, Coursera’s login-settings guidance points learners to Settings to manage linked login methods, their password, two-factor authentication (2FA), and connected devices. Coursera says its 2FA feature is in beta and may not be available to every learner. Where offered, its documented setup uses a mobile authenticator app and a six-digit code; availability and screen labels can vary.

Get help if you still cannot access your account
Coursera says support chat requires you to be logged in and is available only to learners with specified active products or enrollments. If you cannot log in, or chat is unavailable, use the Coursera contact form. Coursera’s Contact Us page also directs learners to Learner Support for login and account troubleshooting.
