Send that scene to YouTube through Live Control Room using the stream URL and key. That creates a live video feed showing a static visual; it does not, by itself, keep a 24/7 broadcast uninterrupted. The computer, encoder, power, and internet connection must remain available unless you use a cloud service.
Before you start: check channel eligibility
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days to livestream. Check eligibility before setting up OBS; YouTube’s live-streaming tips explain the requirements.
Build the still-image scene in OBS
- Create or select a scene. In OBS, use the Scenes dock to select an existing scene or add one for the meditation stream.
- Add the image. In the Sources dock, select the plus button and choose Image (an Image Source). Choose the image file. OBS documents Image Sources as a way to add an image or slideshow to a scene in its Sources Guide.
- Fit and position it. Resize and position the source so the image fills the stream canvas as intended. Check for unwanted borders, cropping, or empty areas in the OBS preview.
- Set up meditation audio, if needed. A static visual does not provide audio. Add and test the intended audio source separately, and confirm it is audible in OBS and in YouTube’s preview. OBS describes Media Sources in its Media Sources guide; the exact audio setup depends on where your audio comes from.
Connect OBS to YouTube
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select the stream.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream.
- In OBS, open the streaming settings and enter YouTube’s server/stream URL and key in the corresponding fields. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains how the key lets an encoder send its feed to YouTube. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
Choose encoder settings that suit the connection
A still image makes the visual scene simple, but OBS still sends a live video stream. YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance lists recommended bitrate ranges by resolution, frame rate, and codec. Choose settings within the applicable range that your upload connection can sustain.
- Protocol: YouTube recommends RTMPS for its listed RTMP/RTMPS settings.
- Rate control: Use CBR (constant bitrate), as YouTube recommends.
- Keyframe interval: Set it to two seconds.
- Codec: H.264 is a broadly supported choice.
- Resolution, frame rate, and bitrate: Choose these together using YouTube’s current table for your codec and intended output. Do not assume a still image removes the need to meet the encoder requirements.
Test the stream before relying on it
- Start streaming from OBS, but check YouTube Live Control Room before treating the broadcast as ready.
- Wait for the preview and verify that the image is framed correctly and the meditation audio, if used, sounds right.
- Check stream health and network stability. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring; its live-streaming tips describe stopping the primary encoder or unplugging Ethernet as ways to test failover when a failover setup is in use.
- Make a plan for noticing an interruption and restarting or failing over. A test confirms the setup at that time; it cannot guarantee future continuity.
What 24/7 means for a local OBS setup
With OBS running locally, the computer, encoder, power, and internet connection all have to stay available. A still image reduces scene complexity, but it does not protect the stream from a computer shutdown, network loss, power failure, or YouTube interruption. YouTube’s guidance calls for testing and monitoring; it does not promise uninterrupted uptime for this setup.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Consider how you will monitor the broadcast and recover it if it stops. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its encoder instructions do not promise that a stream longer than 12 hours will be archived in full. If preserving a replay matters, check YouTube’s current encoder guidance and consider keeping a local recording or dividing the broadcast into shorter sessions.

If you want the meditation image to accompany a prerecorded video rather than send a still-image scene directly from OBS, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service that loops uploaded videos. Its workflow is: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast from a camera. The documented YouTube encoder guide also names Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming, but does not establish whether Gyre accepts a still image directly or state its current pricing.
