To show the current video title in a vMix YouTube playlist stream, create or select a vMix Title input, edit its text field, and bring it on screen through an overlay channel. You can update the text manually or use vMix Web Scripting and the HTTP API to sequence a text change with the overlay. The official documentation describes these building blocks, but does not establish an automatic link between a playlist’s current item name and a title field; plan and test that synchronization separately.
Create a title input and text field

Add a Title input in vMix. You can start with a built-in template or create a custom title in GT Designer. Title inputs are intended for titles and lower thirds, and their text can be edited from the input’s right-click menu. See the vMix Title documentation.

In the Title Editor, identify the text field that should display the current program or video title. Use the field’s actual name from your template rather than assuming a sample name exists. For a GT title, the API field name includes the

Keep the card readable at the resolution and aspect ratio of your program output. The title and graphics workflow happens inside vMix; YouTube is the destination, not a separate title-card setup step.

Choose how the title changes
Manual updates
For a playlist advanced by an operator, edit the Title input’s text when the next video starts, then show or refresh the overlay. This is the simplest approach, but the operator must keep the displayed title aligned with playback.
API and Web Scripting updates
For a repeatable scripted sequence, vMix’s HTTP API can set a title field with Function=SetText. Identify the title input and set SelectedName to the exact field name and Value to the text to display. The API documentation supports selecting an input by name or GUID; field names are case-sensitive where specified. Special characters in a value may need URL encoding. See the vMix User Guide.
Web Scripting can sequence the text update, overlay-in, a delay, and overlay-out. This illustrative pattern follows the documented sequence; replace the input name, field name, title, overlay channel, and delay with those in your setup:

This example sets the title, shows it on overlay channel 1, waits 4,000 milliseconds, and takes it out. It is a pattern, not a tested production script. Confirm the syntax, names, encoding, and timing with the installed vMix version and actual title template. The vMix Web Scripting documentation describes sequential functions and the Sleep command.
Coordinate the card with playlist playback
Decide first whether an operator will advance playlist items or whether playback will proceed automatically. The vMix PlayList guide documents sequential video playback and controls including Loop, Manual Mode, Next, and Previous. A playlist control determines when playback advances; it does not, by itself, establish that the active item’s name is written into your title field. See the vMix PlayList guide.

vMix Triggers documents OnCompletion for video and list inputs when playback reaches the end, assuming Loop is not enabled. You can investigate a completion-triggered workflow, but test the event and title-update sequence with the production playlist before depending on it live. The documentation cited here does not provide a general recipe that extracts the active playlist item’s title and binds it to a title field. You must define how that text reaches SetText and verify the mechanism in your version and playlist configuration. See vMix Triggers documentation.

Check that the selected title input and field name exactly match the Title Editor, including the
.Textsuffix for a GT title. -
Preview the overlay and confirm that the title is legible, appears on the intended overlay channel, and clears at the intended time.

Test the full playlist transition, not just a single manual text update. Verify what happens on Next, Previous, end-of-video completion, and looped playback if those controls are part of your show.

Test any automatic item-name source in the installed vMix version. Do not assume that a playlist item’s displayed name automatically populates the title field.
