For grading, DaVinci Resolve 21.1 or later adds native support for Vivo Wide Gamut and Log, so you can manage the camera footage directly rather than adding a generic technical conversion LUT first. The exact camera-menu choices and supported lens, frame-rate, and codec combinations still need to be checked on your phone.
What the X500 Pro’s Log mode offers
Vivo’s official X500 Pro product page lists 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording and calls the profile “new Vivo LOG.” Vivo says the profile is designed to retain more highlight and shadow detail in high-contrast scenes and supports applying LUTs for direct output. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent measurements.

The page separately advertises 4K 240fps slow motion, but it does not say that this mode records 10-bit Log. Do not assume that every high-frame-rate option uses Log. Vivo also claims 17 EV of dynamic range for the Blueprint 900 sensor and its high-dynamic-range technology; that is a manufacturer-stated figure, not an independently measured result.

Set up and verify a test recording
Vivo’s published information does not give a complete Log-mode matrix or exact exposure recipe. Use a short test clip to confirm what your phone actually records before an important shoot.

- Open the camera app and look for its Log or professional-video option. Menu names and availability can vary by software version or regional model.
- Choose the resolution and frame rate that suit the project. The product page lists 4K 120fps 10-bit Log, but does not establish that every lens or other frame-rate combination supports it.
- Check the camera interface for an explicit Log or 10-bit indicator before recording. If it does not identify the mode clearly, record a test and inspect the file’s metadata before relying on it.
- Test the lens and stabilization combination you plan to use. Vivo lists a 50 MP main camera (1/1.28-inch sensor, f/1.57, optical stabilization, 24 mm equivalent), a 64 MP telephoto camera (1/2-inch sensor, f/2.52, optical stabilization, 85 mm equivalent), and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera (1/2.75-inch sensor, f/2.0, autofocus). These specifications do not confirm which cameras support 4K 120fps Log or whether their autofocus and stabilization behave alike in that mode.
- Keep exposure and white balance consistent across shots, and protect important highlights. Log footage is intended for later tonal and color adjustments, so its ungraded appearance may not look like a finished image.
Vivo’s published specifications list MP4 as a recording format and mention professional video, but do not state the exact Log codec settings, bit rate, exposure controls, or lens-specific restrictions. Those details should be verified in the phone and in a test file rather than assumed.
Prepare the project in DaVinci Resolve
Blackmagic Design announced on September 8, 2026, that DaVinci Resolve 21.1 added native support for Vivo Wide Gamut and Log. That support is version-dependent; the announcement does not establish the same handling in older releases. Use Resolve 21.1 or later and select the Vivo input option for the footage when it is available in the color-management or clip input controls.

- Perfect Fit for Vivo X500 Pro Max, Precise cutouts, easy access to all buttons, ports and camera.
- Unique Carbon Fiber Texture, Stylish woven carbon fiber pattern, anti-fingerprint and comfortable grip.
- Red Metal Camera Ring Design, Decorative red camera ring, protects camera lens while improving appearance.
- Shockproof Drop Protection, Hard shell structure buffers impact to defend against drops and bumps in daily use.
- Slim & Lightweight, Thin design will not add extra bulk to your Vivo X500 Pro Max.
- Copy the original clips to your editing drive and keep a backup.
- Start a project with the frame rate intended for delivery. For 120fps footage, decide whether you want real-time playback or slow motion on a lower-frame-rate timeline; interpret or conform the footage to match that decision.
- Set the clip’s input color space and gamma to Vivo Log/Vivo Wide Gamut when Resolve offers that option for the media. With Resolve’s native input handling active, do not add a generic log-to-Rec.709 LUT as a second technical conversion.
Vivo’s X500-series announcement describes 10-bit 4:2:2 APV encoding, ACES support, and collaboration with DaVinci Resolve on official color conversion. These are series-level statements; they do not establish that every encoding or feature applies to every X500 Pro recording mode. Confirm the actual file and available camera options on your device.
Balance and grade the footage
Once input handling is correct, adjust exposure and white balance before applying a creative look. Blackmagic’s Resolve color-management tools include input, timeline, and output transforms, tone mapping, LUT application, and scopes. Scopes can help you assess luminance and chrominance, balance exposure, and match shots rather than relying on the viewer alone.

Durable leather flap covers the screen of the phone to avoid scratches during daily use while providing you with an enjoyable experience.Precise cutouts for speakers, camera and functional ports allow you easily access to all ports and functions, without removing the case.
- Features 9 card slots and 1 bill compartment. The card slots are designed to hold ID cards, credit cards, driver’s licenses, receipts, coins, and a small amount of cash. It comes with a detachable wrist strap, offering multiple ways to carry it, and can also be used as a mini clutch for secure transport.
- It can be folded to stand and watch videos or movies at the best angle for a comfortable visual experience. Free your hands for more convenience !
- Wireless charger compatible; works with all wireless charging systems, even without removing the case. (Your phone must support wireless charging; otherwise, this feature will not be supported.)
- Correct exposure and white balance, then compare shots from the same scene for consistent brightness and color.
- Apply creative contrast, saturation, or a look after the technical input conversion. Check the color space and gamma a creative LUT expects. Do not stack a vendor LUT and Resolve’s native conversion unless the documented LUT workflow specifically requires it.
- Choose an output transform for the delivery target. SDR Rec.709 is a common choice for standard web delivery, but the right output depends on the project.
- Export a review file and watch it on the intended display to check highlight roll-off, skin tones, and shot matching.
A useful starting node order is input color management → exposure and white-balance correction → shot matching → creative look → output transform. It is a workflow outline, not a Vivo-mandated setup or a tested preset.

What to verify before relying on a mode
- Whether the camera app explicitly indicates Log and 10-bit recording for the selected settings.
- Whether the chosen lens supports the resolution and frame rate you intend to use.
- Whether stabilization, autofocus, and other camera behavior change with the selected lens or frame rate.
- Whether the recorded file’s metadata matches your intended format and settings.
- Whether Resolve identifies the clip as Vivo Log/Vivo Wide Gamut, and whether the selected output transform matches delivery.
