On a Galaxy phone, create a shareable Samsung calendar from Calendar → Menu → Settings → Manage calendars → Create shared calendar. Name it, invite people, then save each event to that calendar by selecting it under My calendars. The person who creates the calendar must be signed in to a Samsung account.
What “sharing your Samsung Calendar” can mean
There are two different arrangements that are often confused:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- A Samsung shared calendar is created in the Galaxy Calendar app and invitations are sent from Samsung’s calendar service.
- A Google Calendar is displayed inside the Galaxy Calendar app after account synchronization, but its sharing permissions are controlled in Google Calendar.
Seeing Google events in Samsung Calendar does not automatically give another person access. You must share the Google calendar through Google’s own calendar settings, while Samsung Calendar synchronization only keeps accounts and events visible on the phone.
This distinction matters when you troubleshoot. A Samsung invitation will not appear in Google Calendar’s sharing list, and changing Google permissions will not turn a Samsung personal calendar into a shared one. First identify the calendar owner, then use that service’s invitation and permission controls.

Use a supported Galaxy setup
Menu names and available features can vary by Galaxy model, One UI release, Calendar app version and region. Samsung’s current United Kingdom support instructions were updated on 8 April 2026; they do not publish a model-by-model compatibility table. Follow the labels on your phone rather than assuming that every Galaxy device has identical options.
The Samsung Calendar store listing showed version 12.7.07.3 dated 22 September 2026. That date identifies one listing, not a guarantee that every Galaxy phone has the same release. An update can move a control or change its wording, so use the closest matching menu on your device.
Sign in to a Samsung account
Samsung states that the creator must be signed in to a Samsung account. Samsung’s exact note is: “Please note: You must be signed in to your Samsung account to create a shared calendar.” If you are not signed in, open your phone’s account settings, add or sign in to your Samsung account, and return to Calendar.

If a recipient cannot open an invitation, confirm which Samsung account or contact address received it and whether the shared calendar is enabled in that person’s calendar list.
Decide which service owns the calendar
Use a Samsung shared calendar when the group primarily uses Galaxy devices and you want to create it directly in Samsung Calendar. Use Google Calendar when the calendar already belongs to a Google account, when participants use different platforms, or when you need Google’s documented permission levels. Do not change synchronization settings until you know which service owns the events.
Ownership is especially important before moving or deleting events. An event visible in Samsung Calendar may still be stored by Google, Samsung or another account. The app’s color or calendar name can help you identify it, but verify the selected account in the event editor before making bulk changes.
Create and share a Samsung calendar
- Open Calendar. Launch the Calendar app on your Galaxy phone.
- Open the calendar settings. Tap the Menu icon, then tap the Settings icon.
- Open calendar management. Select Manage calendars.
- Create the shared calendar. Tap Create shared calendar. If this entry is missing, see the troubleshooting section below before proceeding.
- Name the calendar. Enter a clear name such as “Family,” “Project schedule” or “Childcare.” Create the calendar.
- Invite participants. Use the invitation screen to add the people who should receive access. Samsung’s instructions describe inviting people from this screen; Samsung India also describes choosing contacts or entering Samsung accounts.
- Finish the invitation. Review the invitees and send or confirm the invitations using the controls shown on your device.
Use a name that explains the calendar’s purpose rather than a temporary label. A clear name helps invitees select the correct calendar later, particularly when a phone displays several personal, work and Google calendars together.

Samsung India describes a shareable invitation link as another possible method. Samsung’s current United Kingdom guide does not mention that option, so treat a link as device-, software- or region-dependent rather than a universal step. If no link control appears, invite people through the available contact or Samsung-account fields. Do not assume that forwarding a calendar screen or an ordinary event link grants continuing calendar access.
Put an event on the shared calendar
Creating a shared calendar does not move your existing appointments into it. An event appears to invitees only when it is saved to the shared calendar itself.
- In Calendar, tap the date and start a new event.
- Tap My calendars in the event editor.
- Select the shared calendar you created.
- Enter the title, date, time, location, reminders and any other event details.
- Save the event.
For an event that already exists, open it and look for the calendar selector in the edit screen. If your version lets you change the calendar, select the shared calendar and save. If it does not, create a new event on the shared calendar and remove the private copy after checking that the replacement contains the correct details.
Repeat the calendar-selection check for recurring events. A recurring series can remain attached to its original personal or Google calendar even when one occurrence is edited. Confirm the selected calendar before saving the series, and avoid deleting the original until another participant can see the replacement.

- Open Manage calendars and confirm that the shared calendar is enabled for display.
- When creating an event, verify the calendar name under My calendars instead of relying on the last-used choice.
- Ask one invitee to refresh Calendar and confirm that the event is visible after the invitation is accepted.
- Check a newly created test event first. A short test confirms both invitation access and event placement without risking an important appointment.
Share a Google Calendar that appears in Samsung Calendar
Samsung’s sync instructions cover connecting a Google account to Calendar; they do not grant another person access. Google’s Android help covers the separate sharing process.
Make the Google calendar visible in Samsung Calendar
- Open the phone’s account or synchronization settings and select the Google account you use for Calendar.
- Ensure Calendar synchronization is enabled for that account.
- Run a sync, then open Samsung Calendar and confirm that the Google calendar is listed and selected for display.
Samsung warns that synchronization uses the most recently changed data and that an incorrect setup can delete events. Before changing accounts or sync switches, identify whether each important event belongs to Samsung Calendar, Google Calendar or another account and make a backup of anything that cannot be recreated.
Sync is a display and data-update mechanism, not an access grant. A second person may see a Google calendar on your phone while having no permission to open it on their own phone. Conversely, a person who has Google sharing permission can use Google Calendar even if you temporarily hide that calendar in Samsung Calendar.

Grant access in Google Calendar
- Open Google Calendar and go to the settings for the calendar you own or are allowed to share.
- Choose the option to share with people or groups.
- Add each person’s email address or group.
- Select the least-permissive access level that meets the group’s needs.
- Save the change. Google sends an email invitation to each address.
You can share only calendars that you own or for which you have permission to share. For work or school accounts, an administrator may prohibit external or even internal sharing; in that case, the owner cannot override the organization’s policy.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsUse the recipient’s intended Google account address, not merely a nickname stored in Contacts. Google’s invitation is associated with the address entered, so a person who opens it under a different account may not see the calendar until they switch accounts or the owner sends the invitation again.
Google Calendar permission levels
Google documents five access choices. Select one deliberately rather than granting management rights to everyone.
| Permission | What the person can do | Suitable use |
|---|---|---|
| See only free/busy (hide details) | See when you are available, without event names or details. | Scheduling with acquaintances or external contacts. |
| See all event details | Read titles, times, locations and other non-private event information. | Family or teammates who need the schedule but should not edit it. |
| Make changes to events | Add and edit events; private events remain hidden. | A coordinator who should maintain appointments without seeing private entries. |
| Make changes and see event details | Edit events and view event details, including details not hidden by the calendar owner. | A trusted teammate who needs both editing and full scheduling visibility. |
| Make changes and manage sharing | Edit events, view details and change who else has access. | Only a person who genuinely needs administrative control. |
Private events remain protected only when the selected level and the event’s privacy setting support that distinction. Read the description shown in your account before saving, especially for work or school calendars, because an organization may limit which levels are available.
Start with read-only access and increase it only when a person has a clear operational need. Someone who merely needs to know when you are busy should not receive event titles, and someone who edits appointments may not need authority to invite additional people.

|---|---|---|
| Calendar owner or service | Created and invited from Samsung Calendar. | Owned and shared through Google Calendar, even when displayed in Samsung Calendar. |
| Creator account | Samsung says the creator must be signed in to a Samsung account. | The owner, or someone with sharing permission, manages access from Google Calendar. |
| Invitation workflow | Invitation screen in Calendar; contacts or Samsung accounts may be available, and a link may appear on some devices or in some regions. | Add email addresses or groups and save; Google sends email invitations. |
| Permission detail | The cited Samsung guide does not publish an equivalent five-level permission table. | Five documented levels range from free/busy visibility to event and sharing management. |
| Organization restrictions | Availability depends on Samsung account, device software and region. | Work or school administrators can restrict whether calendars may be shared. |
| Best fit | Galaxy-centered groups that want a calendar created in Samsung Calendar. | Mixed-device groups or teams that need Google’s explicit permission controls. |
Troubleshoot the most common problems
“Create shared calendar” is missing
- Confirm that the phone is signed in to a Samsung account.
- Return to Calendar → Menu → Settings → Manage calendars and check again.
- Install available updates for the Calendar app and the phone’s system software.
- Check whether your device or region uses different labels or does not expose Samsung shared calendars.
Samsung’s current support article does not state a universal compatibility list, so the absence of the option cannot be resolved by assuming that every Galaxy model supports it. The Samsung Calendar store listing showed version 12.7.07.3 dated 22 September 2026, but that listing is a volatile app-version detail and does not prove that all Galaxy phones run that version.
An invitee cannot see the Samsung calendar
- Confirm that the invitation was sent to the correct contact or Samsung account.
- Ask the invitee to accept the invitation, refresh Calendar and enable the shared calendar in their calendar list.
- Check that the event was saved to the shared calendar, not to your personal or Google calendar.
- If you used an invitation link, resend it or use the contact/account method if the recipient’s device does not support the link.
- Send a small test event after acceptance. If the test appears, the original event is probably stored on a different calendar.
A Google invitation is missing
Google recommends checking the address used, searching the recipient’s email, and checking spam or trash folders. Removing the person from the sharing list and adding the address again is another official troubleshooting step. The recipient should open the invitation with the Google account associated with that address.

A work or school Google calendar cannot be shared
Ask the organization’s administrator whether sharing is allowed. Google states that administrators decide whether organizational calendars can be shared, so changing a phone setting will not bypass that policy.
Events disappeared after sync changes
Stop changing sync switches until you determine which account contains the authoritative copy. Samsung warns that the most recently changed data is used during synchronization and that incorrect configuration can delete events. Check the calendar selected on the event, verify the account online where possible, and restore or recreate missing entries only after confirming the correct owner.
The instructions do not match my screen
Compare the meaning of the controls rather than their position. One UI and Calendar updates can rename or relocate Menu, Settings, Manage calendars or sharing controls. Samsung’s published steps are current as of 8 April 2026, but they are not a guarantee of identical labels across every model, app release or country.
A duplicate event appears
Duplicates commonly indicate that the same appointment was recreated on a shared calendar while the original remained on a personal or Google calendar. Open each copy, inspect its calendar selector and keep the version on the intended shared calendar. Check with an invitee before deleting anything important.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Privacy and access decisions
- Choose the narrowest access. For Google calendars, free/busy visibility is safer than exposing titles and locations when that is all a person needs.
- Separate personal and group events. Save private appointments to a personal calendar and group appointments to the shared calendar.
- Review recipients before sending. A mistyped email address or contact can expose event information to the wrong person.
- Limit management rights. Editing and sharing control should be reserved for a trusted coordinator.
- Recheck after account changes. Removing a Google account, changing sync settings or switching phones can alter which calendars are displayed without changing the underlying sharing permissions.
- Use descriptive event details carefully. Shared titles, locations and notes may reveal more than the group needs. Put sensitive information in a private calendar or private event where the service’s settings support it.
A practical setup checklist
- Decide whether Samsung or Google should own the shared calendar.
- Sign in to the required Samsung or Google account.
- Create the Samsung calendar through Calendar → Menu → Settings → Manage calendars → Create shared calendar, or open Google Calendar’s sharing settings for an existing Google calendar.
- Invite the correct people or groups.
- Choose appropriate Google permission levels when using Google Calendar.
- Create a test event and select the shared calendar under My calendars.
- Ask one participant to verify the invitation and event visibility.
- Keep private appointments on a non-shared calendar.
- Record which account owns the calendar before changing synchronization settings.
Key points to remember
The reliable Samsung workflow is to create the shared calendar in Galaxy Calendar, invite people, and deliberately select that calendar every time you add a group event. A Google calendar shown in the same app follows Google’s ownership and permission rules instead. Account requirements, menu labels and optional link invitations can vary by device, software release and region, so use the controls actually displayed on your Galaxy phone.

Why can’t my invitee see an event?
Confirm the invitation was accepted, the shared calendar is enabled for display, and the event was saved to that calendar rather than a personal or Google calendar.
Can I share a Google Calendar from Samsung Calendar?
Samsung Calendar can display a synced Google calendar, but sharing is managed in Google Calendar. Add people or groups in Google’s calendar settings and choose a permission level.
What is the safest Google Calendar permission?
Use See only free/busy when the person only needs availability. Choose a broader level only when they need event details, editing or sharing control.
Why is Create shared calendar missing?
Check that you are signed in to a Samsung account, update Calendar and system software, and consider device, One UI and regional differences. Samsung does not publish a universal compatibility table.
Why did events disappear after I changed sync settings?
Samsung warns that synchronization uses the most recently changed data and incorrect setup can delete events. Identify the account that owns each event before changing sync switches, then verify the authoritative copy.
Can my work or school Google Calendar be shared?
Only if the organization allows it. Google says administrators can restrict calendar sharing, and a phone setting cannot bypass that policy.
The Bottom Line
For a Samsung-owned calendar, use Calendar → Menu → Settings → Manage calendars → Create shared calendar, invite people, and save every group event to that calendar. For a Google calendar, sync only controls what appears on your Galaxy phone; use Google’s sharing settings to grant the least access each person needs.
