To set membership perks, open YouTube Studio on a computer and go to Earn > Memberships. If your channel is eligible, choose Get started, accept the Commerce Product Module, then create a small number of levels with benefits you can reliably deliver. For Hindi-speaking viewers, explain each perk in clear Hindi and make clear that a viewer’s price depends on their market and platform—not the language they speak.
Check whether your channel can offer memberships
- Sign in to YouTube Studio on a computer.
- Open Earn and look for Memberships. If it is not available, review YouTube’s fan-funding requirements, location availability and membership policies before assuming the feature can be enabled. Eligibility is specific to the channel and can change. See YouTube’s channel memberships setup instructions and fan funding eligibility and policies.
After YPP acceptance, YouTube says activation may take up to two days because eligibility can be reviewed. The tab’s presence and the prompts shown in your account are the practical checks; do not promise access until Studio offers the setup flow.
Turn on memberships in YouTube Studio
- In Studio, select Earn > Memberships.
- Select Get started and follow the on-screen setup prompts.
- Accept the Commerce Product Module when prompted. You must accept it to earn membership revenue.
- Complete the level and perk setup, then review the member-facing offer before publishing.
YouTube can change interface labels and availability. Follow the live instructions shown in your Studio account and consult the official setup page if a step differs.
Choose a manageable number of levels
YouTube allows up to six price levels, and its guidance says many creators begin with one to three. That is a platform limit and recommendation, not a requirement to use every level. Start with the number of distinct benefits you can explain and maintain, rather than adding levels just to fill a menu.

The table is a planning framework, not a YouTube-mandated tier structure. Higher-priced levels can include perks from lower levels, so state clearly which benefits stack. YouTube notes that some viewers join primarily to support a channel without expecting major perks; a modest, sustainable entry option can accommodate that.
Select perks you can keep delivering
YouTube’s available formats include badges, custom emoji, members-only posts, early access, members-only live chat and streams, Shorts, and videos. Match each promise to your actual publishing routine. A benefit that depends on frequent creator time—such as a scheduled members-only stream—needs a schedule you can keep; a lighter-touch benefit may be easier to maintain.

- Badges and emoji: Explain where viewers will see them and whether they are available at the level offered.
- Members-only posts: Say what kind of updates or discussions members can expect.
- Early access: Describe what content gets early access and avoid implying that every upload will qualify unless that is your plan.
- Members-only live chat or streams: State the expected format or cadence only if you can reliably deliver it.
- Members-only Shorts and videos: Describe the content type rather than using a vague promise such as “exclusive content.”
Do not offer downloads of content already available on YouTube as a membership perk; YouTube’s policy disallows that. This is not a complete list of restrictions, so review the current membership perks policy before publishing or changing benefits.
Write the offer clearly for Hindi-speaking viewers
Use plain Hindi to name the benefit, explain where to find it, and say how often it is expected when frequency matters. If your community uses both Hindi and English, bilingual descriptions can reduce confusion. Keep the member-facing wording specific: for example, describe whether early access applies to selected videos, rather than promising “all videos early” unless you intend to do that.

Hindi-speaking does not mean India-based. Viewers may live in different countries, and price localization also depends on the viewer’s market and platform. Encourage viewers to select Join on the channel and check the price and included perks shown to them there. That viewer-facing panel is more useful than quoting one price to an audience spread across regions.
Set and communicate prices carefully
YouTube’s India pricing table lists these examples in the updated table: a $0.99 reference tier maps to ₹59; $1.99 to ₹119; $2.99 to ₹179; $3.99 to ₹239; $4.99 to ₹299; $5.99 to ₹359; $6.99 to ₹419; $7.99 to ₹479; $8.99 to ₹599; $9.99 to ₹799; $14.99 to ₹1,199; and $19.99 to ₹1,599. The updated prices began rolling out gradually in May 2025, and YouTube says the applicable price may vary depending on when a viewer joins. Higher listed tiers extend through $499.99 to ₹39,999. When comparing potential levels, consider the monthly price shown in the viewer’s market, how much ongoing creator work the perk requires, how exclusive the access is, whether benefits are cumulative, and whether you can fulfill the promise consistently. These are practical decision criteria, not YouTube rules.

Test the member experience before announcing it
- Check the level names, included perks and recurring promises in Studio.
- Open the channel’s Join panel as a viewer would and inspect the wording and displayed options.
- Confirm that the instructions tell viewers where members-only posts, videos or streams appear.
- Check that each promised schedule fits your real production capacity before promoting the tier.
Once the offer is live, keep perk descriptions aligned with what you actually publish. If a benefit changes, update the description and communicate the change to members.
