Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →For a podcast stream using YouTube’s H.264 encoder, start with 8 Mbps video for 720p at 30 fps or 14 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps. These are YouTube’s recommended live-ingest bitrates, not guarantees that an Airtel connection can sustain them. Test upload speed at the streaming location, leave bandwidth headroom, and lower the stream quality if the connection is unstable.
Choose a resolution and bitrate
Use YouTube’s live encoder recommendations—not its separate guidance for uploading finished videos. For a mostly static podcast, 720p30 is a sensible starting target when bandwidth is limited; 1080p30 can provide more detail if your measured upload capacity is stable enough. A 60 fps stream is usually unnecessary for a talking-head show without fast motion.

| Resolution and frame rate | H.264 minimum | H.264 recommended | AV1/H.265 recommended |
|---|---|---|---|
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps | 6 Mbps |
| 720p60 | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps | 6 Mbps |
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p60 | 6 Mbps | 17 Mbps | 12 Mbps |
These figures are YouTube’s recommended live H.264 ingest rates; the AV1/H.265 column is shown separately because the codec recommendations differ. Use the row for your actual output resolution and frame rate, and do not mix figures from different codec columns. YouTube’s live encoder settings are at YouTube Help: encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsCheck Airtel upload speed at the streaming location
Your Airtel plan’s advertised speed, especially a download-speed figure, does not establish how much upload bandwidth your stream will have at showtime. YouTube notes that download speed is often higher than upload speed. Measure outbound/upload performance on the computer and connection you will actually use.
#1 Best Overall
- 40 Gbps 2000 Mhz High Speed: The Cat 8 ethernet cable support max. 40 Gbps data transfer and 2000 MHz Brandwith, ideal for gaming and streaming, greatly improving upload and download speed, sound, image and resolution quality

- Marvelous Durability: Internet cable wrapped with quality cotton braided cord, which makes the LAN cable stronger and more durable. The test proves that this internet cable can be bent at least 10000 times without broken, very suitable for long-term use
- PoE Supported: All lengths of ethernet cord can support the PoE power supply function except 65ft. You don't need additional power supply when installing a PoE camera, which is very convenient and safe
- Wide Compatibility: With the RJ45 Connector, network cable can be perfectly compatible with computers, laptops, modems, routers, PS5, X-Box and other networking devices. It can also be fully backward compatible with Cat7, Cat6e, Cat6, Cat5e, Cat5
- Connect the streaming computer to the router with Ethernet if possible. Wi-Fi can produce lower or less consistent results.
- Pause large downloads, cloud backups and other transfers, and limit other devices using the connection during the test.
- Choose a nearby speed-test server and run several tests at different times. Airtel says results can vary with time and location.
- Pay attention to upload speed and consistency, not just the fastest result or advertised plan ceiling.
Airtel’s speed-test guidance is available at Airtel Speed Test; its plan page notes that advertised speeds are plan-specific and some offerings are limited to select geographies: Airtel broadband plans.
Leave bandwidth headroom
YouTube recommends about 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate. In practical terms, for a single stream, a bitrate of 8 Mbps calls for roughly 9.6 Mbps of sustained upload capacity; 14 Mbps calls for roughly 16.8 Mbps. Treat these as planning targets, not speed-test guarantees. If you send primary and backup streams, count both when assessing total bitrate.

- Cat 6 performance at a Cat5e price but with higher bandwidth
- High Performance Cat6, 30 AWG, RJ45 Ethernet Patch Cable provides universal connectivity for LAN network components such as PCs,computer servers, printers, routers, switch boxes, network media players,NAS,VoIP phones
- Jadaol cat6 standard cable support Cat8 and Cat7 network and provides performance of up to 250 MHz 10Gbps and is suitable for 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet), 1000BASE-T/1000BASE-TX (Gigabit Ethernet) and 10GBASE-T (10-Gigabit Ethernet)
- UTP(Unshielded Twisted Pair) patch cable with RJ45 gold-plated Connectors and are made of 100% bare copper wire, ensure minimal noise and interference
- The unique flat cable shape allows for a cleaner and safer installation. You can easily and seamlessly make the cable run along walls, follow edges & corners or even make it completely invisible by sliding it under a carpet.
Do not set the encoder to consume the entire upload capacity shown by one test. Upload can fluctuate, and other devices or services may use bandwidth while you are live. If your connection cannot maintain the target with margin, move to a lower resolution and the matching bitrate rather than trying to stream at the edge of capacity. YouTube’s bandwidth guidance is at YouTube Help: encoder settings and bandwidth.
Set the encoder and YouTube stream
- Select the output. Choose 1280×720 at 30 fps for a bandwidth-conscious podcast, or 1920×1080 at 30 fps if your connection supports it consistently. Match the encoder bitrate to the resolution, frame rate and codec row above.
- Choose a compatible encoder configuration. For a straightforward compatibility-first setup, use H.264 over RTMPS. YouTube also lists H.265 (HEVC) and AV1 as supported options, but the bitrate guidance differs by codec.
- Set rate control to CBR. Use constant bitrate rather than allowing the video bitrate to swing unpredictably.
- Set keyframes to every 2 seconds. YouTube recommends a two-second interval and says not to exceed four seconds.
- Configure audio. For stereo, YouTube lists AAC or MP3 and recommends 128 kbps.
- Use the YouTube stream key carefully. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create or select the stream and copy its stream key into the encoder’s streaming settings. Keep the key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to your channel.
- Rehearse and check stream health. Test with the same audio, movement and overlay layout you expect on air. Watch the Live Control Room’s stream-health indicators and correct any encoder-setting warnings before the public show.
YouTube’s current encoder settings and troubleshooting guidance are documented at YouTube Help: Live encoder settings and YouTube Help: troubleshoot live-stream errors.

Diagnose common bitrate and connection problems
- Stream health reports dropped frames or an unstable connection: Check upload speed again over Ethernet, pause competing traffic, and reduce bitrate or resolution. A good download result does not rule out an upload bottleneck.
- The encoder cannot hold the selected bitrate: Choose a lower output resolution or frame rate and use the corresponding recommendation. Do not compensate by removing all bandwidth headroom.
- YouTube reports an encoder mismatch: Check that the selected codec, resolution, frame rate, bitrate control and keyframe interval agree with the stream settings YouTube expects.
- Results vary between rehearsals: Airtel speed-test results can change with time and location. Repeat tests under realistic conditions, minimize competing network use, and prefer Ethernet over Wi-Fi.
YouTube advises considering a lower resolution when available bandwidth cannot support the selected one. See YouTube’s live-stream error troubleshooting.
