Start with the exact XRP market and notification channel
“XRP” may refer to several markets, such as XRP quoted in a local fiat currency or in another cryptocurrency. Before creating a rule, search for the exact pair you watch. An alert on one pair is not automatically an alert on every XRP market, and an exchange may not offer the pair in your country or account.
Check these prerequisites
- Market availability: Confirm that the XRP asset or exact XRP quote-currency pair appears in your account.
- Condition: Decide whether you need a fixed price, a move above or below a level, a percentage change, volatility information, or a volume threshold.
- Delivery: Decide between push, in-app, email, browser, or desktop notifications. Enable permission at both the exchange and operating-system or browser level.
- Lifetime and frequency: Check whether the alert triggers once, repeatedly, or until an expiration date.
- Chart interval for volume: A volume threshold on a five-minute candle measures something different from the same number on a one-day candle.
Do not assume that a notification will arrive instantly or that it guarantees an execution price. The official instructions establish configuration features, not alert speed, uptime, or trading results.

Define the alert before you create it
Write down the venue, pair, quote currency, condition, target, interval (for a volume rule), delivery channel, and desired frequency. For example, “XRP/USD on my exchange, notify me when price rises above 0.60 USD, once” is more precise than “alert me about XRP.” This short description also makes it easier to spot a wrong pair or decimal when reviewing an alert.
Set an XRP price alert in Binance
Binance documents price alerts in its mobile app’s Binance Pro experience. Its support article was published on February 17, 2022, and updated January 6, 2026. The labels can change, so use the current equivalent if your version differs.
Mobile app procedure
- Open the Binance app and switch to Binance Pro if necessary.
- Open Markets.
- Search for and select the XRP trading pair you want to monitor. Verify the quote currency before continuing.
- Tap Alert.
- Choose the condition. Binance lists Price reaches, Price rises above, Price drops to, percentage change over or under, and 24-hour percentage-change conditions.
- Enter the target value and choose the alert frequency.
- Tap Create Alert.
- In your phone’s system settings, allow Binance notifications. Without that permission, a correctly saved rule may not produce a push notification.
Desktop app procedure
- Open the Binance desktop app and select Alerts.
- Choose Create Alert.
- Select the XRP trading pair, alert type, target, and frequency.
- Create the alert, then enable desktop notifications in your operating-system settings.
Binance limits and expiration
Binance states a maximum of 10 alerts per trading pair and 50 alerts total. Each alert is valid for 90 days. These are configuration limits, not predictions about XRP or measurements of market performance. Review the alert before it expires and recreate or renew it when needed.
If you monitor several quote currencies, the per-pair limit applies separately to each pair, while the total limit covers your account’s active alerts. Delete obsolete rules so an old target does not consume a slot or produce an unexpected notification.
Set an XRP price alert in Coinbase
Coinbase’s documented flow is in its mobile app and requires the asset to be on a watchlist. Only watchlisted assets send the documented alerts.
Mobile procedure
- Search for and select the XRP asset.
- Tap the star to add XRP to your watchlist.
- Tap the bell-plus icon.
- Choose Add Alert.
- Select whether the alert should trigger when the price is above or below your target.
- Enter the target price and tap Save.
Choose how Coinbase delivers alerts
- Open Account & Settings.
- Open Notification Settings.
- Under Price Alerts, enable predetermined alerts, or use Custom Alerts for rules you create.
- Choose push, in-app, email, or any combination offered for your account.
Coinbase explicitly describes these as informational notifications: “They do not place an order for that asset.” You must still decide whether and how to trade after receiving one.
Because the watchlist is part of the documented workflow, check it after changing portfolios or removing assets. A saved-looking rule can be ineffective if XRP is no longer watchlisted or if the selected notification category is disabled.

Set an XRP alert in Kraken
Kraken provides alert controls on the web, in its mobile app, and in Kraken Desktop. The available trigger parameters and notification settings can differ by surface.
Web procedure
- Open the Alerts widget.
- Enable browser notifications when prompted.
- Create a new alert.
- Choose the XRP market and the trigger parameters.
- Enter the target price and create the alert.
If browser permission was previously denied, allow it in the browser’s site-permission controls and then revisit the alert settings.
Mobile procedure
- Open the Markets page and tap the bell, or long-press a market or open order to reach its alert controls.
- Choose the XRP market, trigger parameters, and price.
- Save the alert.
- Enable push notifications both in your device settings and inside Kraken Pro. Both levels matter.
Kraken lets you view, edit, or delete alerts after creation. Use that management screen to confirm the market and target rather than relying on memory of what you entered.
Kraken Desktop
Kraken Desktop can create an alert quickly by clicking the chart’s price axis when that option is enabled. You can also create and manage rules from the Alerts panel. Confirm that desktop notifications are permitted by the operating system.

Kraken also describes volatility alerts for favorited markets. These report 24-hour percentage price movement and the current price. They describe price behavior, not the amount of XRP traded. A volatility alert therefore cannot substitute for a traded-volume threshold.
How to get an XRP trading-volume alert
The exchange instructions above document price-level, price-change, or volatility notifications. They do not document a native rule that fires when traded XRP volume exceeds a user-entered number. A technical charting tool can provide that function by alerting on the chart’s Volume indicator.
Configure the chart and indicator
- Open an XRP chart in your charting platform and select the same market, if possible, as the exchange you trade on.
- Choose the interval you want to measure, such as five minutes, one hour, or one day.
- Add or display the Volume indicator.
- Create an alert for the Volume indicator rather than for the XRP price line.
- Enter the volume threshold and select the direction condition.
- Choose the notification channels and save the rule.
In TradingView’s alert conditions, use Greater than when you want to know that volume is above a specified level. TradingView specifically warns that a Crossing alert on the Volume indicator may trigger at the opening of a new candle: the new candle starts with volume near zero, which can create a crossing event that does not match the intuitive idea of volume crossing your threshold. A “greater than” rule avoids that particular interpretation and reports when the indicator is above the level.

Choose the interval before choosing the number
Each volume bar represents the amount traded during its chart period. A threshold of 100,000 units on a five-minute chart is not equivalent to 100,000 units on a daily chart. Write the interval into your rule description, and do not compare alerts built on different intervals without adjusting the threshold.
Intrabar values can change while a candle is forming. A volume alert on a short interval may fire during an active candle, while the completed bar later shows a different final total. Treat the alert as a prompt to inspect the chart, not as a finalized market statistic.
Match the chart market to your decision
Volume is market-specific. XRP volume on one exchange or pair can differ from volume on another because each venue records its own trades. If the alert is intended to inform a decision on a particular exchange, select the corresponding market in the charting tool when that market is available. If it is not available, treat the chart as a separate reference rather than as an exact copy of your exchange’s volume.

Which approach fits your goal?
You only need to know when XRP reaches a price
Use the exchange where you hold or trade XRP. This keeps the alert tied to a market you can actually access. Binance, Coinbase, and Kraken each document a direct price-alert workflow, although the exact pair and regional availability must be checked in your account.
You want a move above or below a level
Use a directional price condition rather than a generic “price changed” notice. Enter the level carefully and check whether the platform offers a one-time or recurring frequency. A recurring rule can produce multiple messages as price moves around a boundary, so choose a frequency that matches how closely you intend to monitor the market.
You want a broad warning that XRP is moving quickly
A percentage-change or volatility alert may be appropriate, but read the condition’s definition. A 24-hour percentage movement is not the same as a sudden move during one candle. If timing matters, pair the broad warning with a shorter-interval chart review.
You want to know when trading activity spikes
Use a Volume-indicator alert on a chart. Select the interval first, choose Greater than for an above-threshold rule, and remember that the selected market’s volume may not represent every exchange.

Review and maintain your alert rules
Markets, app versions, and notification permissions change. Once a rule is created, open the platform’s alert list and verify the pair, quote currency, condition, target, frequency, and expiration. For a charting rule, also verify the chart symbol, interval, Volume indicator, operator, and notification channel.
When you switch phones, browsers, desktop computers, or exchanges, repeat the permission check. A rule can remain active while its delivery channel is disabled. Likewise, an alert created for one XRP pair will not automatically follow you to a different pair or venue.

Troubleshoot an alert that does not arrive
The rule was never saved
Return to the platform’s alert list and verify that the XRP pair, target, condition, frequency, and expiration are present. On Coinbase, confirm that XRP is still watchlisted. On Binance, check that you are using the Pro interface for mobile alerts.
Push or browser notifications are blocked
- Enable notifications for the exchange in the phone’s operating-system settings.
- Enable the exchange’s own notification category, such as price alerts.
- For web alerts, allow browser notifications for the exchange site.
- For desktop alerts, allow notifications in system settings and check that focus or do-not-disturb mode is not suppressing them.
- For Kraken mobile alerts, verify both device-level and Kraken Pro push settings.
The market is unavailable
Search again using the full pair and quote currency. If it does not appear, the market may not be supported for your account or region. Do not substitute a similarly named pair without checking its quote currency and venue.
The volume alert fires at an unexpected time
Confirm the chart interval and condition. A Crossing rule can react to a new candle’s opening value on the Volume indicator. Replace it with Greater than when your intention is simply to be notified while volume is above a threshold.
The alert expired or you reached a limit
Review the platform’s active-alert count and lifetime. Binance documents 10 alerts per pair, 50 total, and 90-day validity per alert. Other platforms may use different limits or expiration behavior, so inspect their alert-management screen rather than assuming the Binance limits apply.

Check the alert’s market and quote currency first. Prices can differ between venues, and a notification may reflect the condition on the selected market rather than the market displayed in another app. Open the same pair and interval used to create the rule before assessing what happened.
Use alerts as prompts, not trading instructions
An XRP alert tells you that a defined condition was detected. It does not predict the next price, confirm liquidity, or execute a trade. Before acting, check the live market, spread, order type, available balance, and any applicable account or regional restrictions. If the alert is only informational, keep a separate record of the condition and interval so you know exactly what generated it.
Because interfaces and market support change, recheck the exchange’s current help page and your account’s notification settings whenever you change devices, reinstall an app, switch markets, or create a long-lived alert.
