What an XRP price alert actually does
An XRP price alert watches a selected XRP asset or trading pair and sends a notification when your rule is met. The service does the monitoring on its servers or app; your phone, tablet, or computer only displays the message. You do not need to keep an XRP chart open.

The rule can be a straightforward level, such as XRP rising above a target or falling below one. Some platforms also support percentage-change rules, indicators, strategies, or chart drawings. The alert is informational. Coinbase states that price alerts are only notifications that an asset has reached a certain price and do not place an order. Treat every notification as a prompt to review the market, not as an automatic trade.

Availability can vary by country, account tier, app version, and the XRP pair you select. A USD pair, a EUR pair, and a USDT pair can show different prices, so create the alert on the same pair you intend to monitor. Menu names and limits can also change; verify the current screen in your region before saving an alert.

Choose the tool according to the condition you need, not simply the exchange where you hold XRP. A single threshold is quickest on Coinbase. Binance provides more built-in price and change conditions but imposes a 90-day lifetime. TradingView is the practical choice when an XRP alert must depend on an indicator, strategy, or drawing. CoinMarketCap can centralize basic coin and watchlist movement notices.
Prepare the alert before opening the app
Decide what the target means
Write down the exact pair and level first. For example, “XRP/USDT above 0.75” is different from “XRP/USD above 0.75,” because the quote currency and exchange price may differ. Decide whether the level is a ceiling, a floor, or part of a range. If you want to know when XRP leaves a range in either direction, plan two alerts: one above the upper boundary and one below the lower boundary.
Choose a useful trigger distance
A target that is only a tiny increment from the current price may fire immediately because of normal market movement. A distant target may be useful for a longer-term notification but can be irrelevant if your plan changes. Record the price, direction, and intended action in a note so that a notification is understandable when it arrives hours or days later.

- Sign in to the selected service and confirm that the XRP asset or pair is available in your region.
- Update the mobile app or use the current web interface if a documented feature is missing.
- Allow notifications for the app or browser in the operating system.
- Disable a phone focus mode, battery restriction, or browser permission that could suppress alerts.
- Confirm that email notifications, if selected, are not being diverted to spam or a filtered folder.
Set an XRP alert on Binance
Binance documents the following path for its app:
- Open Markets.
- Search for the XRP trading pair you want to monitor and open it.
- Tap the Alert icon.
- Choose the alert type. Available conditions listed by Binance include price reaches, rises above, drops to, change over, change under, and 24-hour change over or down.
- Enter the target value and choose the frequency offered for that condition.
- Create or save the alert.
- In your device settings, allow notifications for Binance. Binance says app alerts are available on Binance Pro and require device notifications to be enabled.
Binance allows up to 10 alerts for one trading pair and 50 alerts in total. Each alert remains valid for 90 days, according to Binance’s documentation updated on January 6, 2026. A 90-day expiry means a long-running plan needs a calendar reminder to review and recreate the alert. Delete obsolete alerts so that the count does not prevent a new one.
Useful Binance configurations
- Breakout watch: use a rises-above condition at the upper level.
- Downside watch: use a drops-to condition at the lower level.
- Volatility watch: use a change-over or change-under condition when a percentage move matters more than an absolute price.
- Daily-move watch: use a 24-hour change condition when you want a notification about the day’s movement rather than a particular XRP price.
These are notification rules. Creating one does not reserve funds, open a position, or submit an order.

Set an XRP alert on Coinbase
Coinbase’s mobile workflow requires the asset to be on your watchlist:
- Search for and select XRP in the Coinbase mobile app.
- Add XRP to your watchlist.
- Select the bell icon.
- Choose Add Alert.
- Select whether the alert should fire when the price moves above or below a target.
- Enter the target price and save.
- Open Notification Settings and choose push, in-app, email, or a combination of those delivery methods.
- Allow Coinbase notifications in the phone’s operating-system settings.
Only assets on the watchlist send Coinbase price alerts. If the bell or alert option is missing, check that XRP is actually on the watchlist and that the app is signed in to the intended account.
Coinbase explicitly separates an alert from an order: “Price alerts are only notifications that an asset has reached a certain price. They do not place an order for that asset.” When a notification arrives, you must open Coinbase and make any trading decision yourself.
Set a more advanced alert on TradingView
TradingView supports alerts on the current symbol and on a watchlist. Its advantage is the range of conditions: an alert can be tied to XRP’s price, an indicator, a strategy, or a drawing tool rather than only a single price level.
- Open the XRP symbol or XRP trading pair you want to analyze.
- Create an alert for the current symbol, or work from the relevant watchlist if you are monitoring several assets.
- Choose the condition: a price level, indicator value, strategy event, or drawing-tool relationship.
- Set the trigger frequency. TradingView lists only once, every time, once per bar close, and once per minute.
- Choose an expiration date or leave the alert open-ended where that option is available.
- Save the alert, then review TradingView’s notification settings and your device permissions.
Choose the trigger frequency carefully
Only once suits a one-time reminder, such as the first move through a planned level. Every time can generate repeated messages whenever the condition is met. Once per bar close waits for the selected chart interval to finish, which can avoid alerts caused by an intrabar move that reverses before the candle closes. Once per minute is appropriate when you need a recurring time-based check rather than a single event.

TradingView lets you set an expiration date or an open-ended alert, but its documentation notes that open-ended alerts are unavailable for watchlists. If a watchlist alert requires a long lifetime, use a stated expiration and schedule a review rather than assuming it will remain active indefinitely.
Examples of TradingView conditions
- Alert when XRP crosses a moving-average line drawn on the chart.
- Alert when an indicator reaches a selected value.
- Alert when a strategy condition is met.
- Alert when price crosses a trend line or another drawing.
The exact condition depends on the symbol, indicator, chart interval, and TradingView configuration. Test the logic on a familiar chart before relying on it for a time-sensitive decision.
Set notifications with CoinMarketCap
CoinMarketCap supports alerts per coin in its app. Open the XRP page, use the coin-alert control, enter the desired condition where offered, and save it. CoinMarketCap also describes watchlist movement notifications. Notifications appear in the CoinMarketCap inbox and on devices where you are signed in.
For website preferences, use avatar → Settings → Notifications. Toggle the notification categories you want. If an alert is saved but no device message appears, check that you are signed in to the same CoinMarketCap account on the device and that operating-system permissions are enabled.
Build a set-and-forget XRP monitoring plan
Use two boundaries for a range
A single alert answers only one question: did XRP reach this level in this direction? To monitor a range, create an upper and lower alert. For example, an above alert at the upper boundary tells you that XRP moved out of the range upward, while a below alert at the lower boundary signals a move downward. This two-sided setup is a practical use of the above, below, rises, and drops conditions documented by the services.

Separate urgent alerts from background alerts
Use push notifications for levels that require prompt attention and email or in-app notices for less urgent information when those options are available. Avoid creating many closely spaced thresholds; a cluster of alerts can become noise and make an important message easy to miss.
Write a response note
Next to each alert, record the pair, target, direction, date created, and what you intend to check when it fires. The note should say “review the chart and current order status,” not “buy automatically.” This prevents a notification from being mistaken for an execution signal.
Schedule an expiry review
Binance alerts end after 90 days, so add a recurring calendar reminder before that date. TradingView alerts with an expiration date need the same treatment. Even when a platform does not state a limit, review old alerts whenever your target, currency pair, or market plan changes.

The service has notifications disabled
Open the service’s notification settings and confirm that the alert category and delivery method are enabled. Coinbase separates push, in-app, and email choices; CoinMarketCap separates notification categories on its settings page. Binance requires device notifications for app alerts.
The operating system is blocking delivery
In the phone or computer notification settings, allow the relevant app or browser. Check focus or do-not-disturb modes, notification summaries, battery-saving restrictions, and background-data settings. A saved alert can still work on the service while the operating system hides its message.
The alert is attached to the wrong asset or pair
Open the alert list and verify the symbol, quote currency, direction, and target. XRP/USD and XRP/USDT are not interchangeable. A price displayed on one exchange may not exactly match a price on another.
The alert expired or hit a quota
Review active and expired alerts. Binance’s 90-day lifetime and count limits are explicit: 10 per pair and 50 total. Remove stale alerts and recreate the one you need. For other services, consult the current account screen if a limit message appears, because the cited documentation does not state universal quotas.
The market touched the level briefly
Some conditions can trigger on a temporary move. On TradingView, use once per bar close when you want confirmation at the end of a chart interval rather than an intrabar touch. A price alert may also be evaluated against the selected market’s feed, so verify the source symbol before concluding that it failed.

Regional XRP availability, account tiers, and interface labels can change. Sign out and back in only after confirming you know the account credentials, update the app, and check the current help page for the service. Do not assume that an alert created on one device was transferred to a different account.
Reliability and security precautions
- Use a unique password and multi-factor authentication on exchange and charting accounts.
- Never share a password, recovery code, or authentication code with someone claiming to help deliver an alert.
- An alert service should not require your exchange API secret merely to send a notification. Do not grant trading permissions to an untrusted automation tool.
- Keep email and phone contact details current so selected delivery channels reach you.
- Do not rely on one alert for a critical deadline. Device outages, app failures, connectivity problems, and market-data differences can delay or prevent a message.
- Remember that an alert does not guarantee a particular execution price or even that a trade is possible when you receive it.
Quick decision guide
- Choose Coinbase when you need a simple above-or-below XRP target and want push, in-app, or email delivery.
- Choose Binance when you want several built-in price and percentage-change conditions and accept the 10-per-pair, 50-total, 90-day limits.
- Choose TradingView when the trigger must use an indicator, strategy, or drawing, or when you need control over bar-close and recurring frequencies.
- Choose CoinMarketCap when you want app-based coin alerts, watchlist movement notifications, and an account inbox for notices.
Final setup checklist
- Pick the service and confirm XRP is available in your region.
- Select the exact XRP pair or coin feed.
- Define the direction, target, and frequency.
- Create the alert and verify that it appears in the active-alert list.
- Enable the same delivery method inside the service and in the operating system.
- Send or wait for a harmless test notification if the platform provides a test option.
- For a range, create both upper and lower alerts.
- Record any expiry date and review old alerts periodically.
Once these checks are complete, you can close the chart and let the selected service monitor XRP. When a message arrives, open the source app, confirm the pair and current conditions, and decide what to do manually.
