Hindi does not require a different RTMP URL or key procedure: language and program details belong in the content and metadata, not the ingest fields.
Before you configure vMix
- Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, according to YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Prepare the prerecorded video and confirm that you have rights to the program, music, and any other included material. Successful RTMP ingest does not establish that you have permission to stream it.
- Confirm that the computer and internet connection can sustain the chosen output settings. YouTube recommends upload capacity above the total stream bitrate, with 20% headroom.
Labels and available choices may vary with the installed vMix version and YouTube Studio interface. The vMix instructions below refer to the v29 User Guide; check your installed release if a control differs.

Create or schedule the YouTube stream
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live.
- Create a new stream for an immediate broadcast, or open the Manage tab to schedule one. Scheduling creates a watch page that you can promote in advance.
- Open the stream’s settings and copy its stream URL and stream key. Use the values displayed for this particular stream rather than an endpoint from an unrelated tutorial. YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.”
Keep the key private: do not expose it in screenshots, chat, public documents, or recordings. If it is compromised, a channel owner or manager can reset it in YouTube and then replace the old value in vMix. See YouTube’s stream-settings guidance.

- In vMix, click the gear icon beside the Stream button to open streaming settings.
- If YouTube is offered as a provider and you can connect your account there, select it and follow the available prompts. Otherwise, choose Custom RTMP Server.
- For a custom server, paste the URL copied from YouTube into the URL field, then paste the YouTube stream key into Stream Name or Key.
- Select a quality profile and streaming application. The vMix v29 guide says its default FFMPEG installation supports H.264 video and AAC audio. Confirm the options shown in your own vMix installation.
YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension to RTMP, when available. If the selected vMix configuration offers RTMPS, prefer it. YouTube’s encoder guidance covers the protocol and supported encoder settings at Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

Choose resolution, frame rate, and bitrate
YouTube’s H.264 bitrate figures below are recommendations on its currently available, undated help page—not independently measured minimums or guarantees. Choose settings that suit the source video and the upload connection; do not upscale a low-resolution recording just to reach a higher profile.

YouTube lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 video encoding, up to 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), AAC or MP3 audio, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. The vMix v29 guide’s default FFMPEG support specifically documents H.264 and AAC; verify codec availability and controls for your installed application and version. If multiple streams or other traffic share the connection, include their bitrate in the upload-capacity calculation.

Start the encoder, check the preview, and go live
- Load and cue the prerecorded program in your vMix production, then start streaming with the endpoint and profile configured above.
- For a scheduled stream, wait for the encoder feed to appear in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room preview. Check that video is moving and that the audio is present and at a sensible level.
- When the preview and stream health look right, click Go live in YouTube Studio. Starting vMix sends the feed; it does not replace the final Go live action for a scheduled event.
- Monitor stream health, picture, and sound during the broadcast. YouTube recommends testing the setup and checking the preview before the event.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish that a 12-hour-or-longer or 24/7 broadcast will be archived as one video. If you need uninterrupted round-the-clock programming, test how your chosen workflow handles event limits, restarts, and continuity rather than assuming one event can run indefinitely.
What changes for a prerecorded Hindi channel?
The ingest steps are the same as for another language: the URL routes the encoder feed and the key identifies the stream. Put Hindi titles, descriptions, and other relevant content details in the stream’s metadata workflow. The reviewed encoder setup guidance does not identify a Hindi-specific RTMP setting.

For prerecorded playback, feed the authorized video through your vMix production and stream the resulting output. Decide in advance whether the program should loop, what should happen at the end of the file, and how an operator will restart the stream after an interruption. Test those behaviors in your installed version; they are playback and operations choices, not changes to the YouTube ingest address.
Copyright, eligibility, and monetization
Check rights for the video, music, and all other media before streaming. YouTube’s stream-settings guidance also directs creators to follow its content and community requirements. A valid stream key or a healthy encoder connection is not evidence that a program is cleared for broadcast.

Eligibility to go live and eligibility to monetize are separate questions. YouTube says live-stream monetization is available to channels in the YouTube Partner Program; it is not automatic for every channel or stream. Troubleshoot common ingest problems
| Symptom | Likely check and fix |

| vMix cannot connect to YouTube | Re-copy the URL and key from the correct stream in Live Control Room, check for accidental spaces, and confirm that you selected the intended provider or Custom RTMP Server. If the key was exposed or reset, update it in vMix. |
| YouTube does not show a preview | Confirm that vMix streaming has started and that the endpoint and key correspond to the same YouTube stream. Allow the encoder feed to appear in Live Control Room before using Go live. |
| Preview appears, but the scheduled event is not public | For a scheduled event, use YouTube Studio’s Go live action after checking the preview. An encoder connection alone does not publish the event. |
| Video or audio is missing or unstable | Check the vMix output profile, the selected encoder application, and the source playback. Verify available codecs and audio routing, then test again while watching YouTube’s preview and stream health. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the same YouTube stream key again?
YouTube lets channel owners or managers reset a compromised key; use the key shown for the stream you are configuring and update vMix if you reset it.
Does vMix have to stay open for a local RTMP stream?
A local vMix setup sends its output from the running production. For unattended playback without a computer running at home, use a cloud workflow instead.
