For the best results, set up the Triangle Capella 2 in this order: identify each speaker’s left or right channel, place them about two metres apart at listening height, boot and network the Stereo Hub 2, connect your source, then run room calibration before making small Manual EQ changes. Triangle’s guidance is a starting point rather than a universal room recipe, so finish by checking the balance with familiar recordings.
What “best sound” means with the Capella 2
The Capella 2 is an active wireless stereo system: the two speakers receive their signal from the Stereo Hub 2 rather than relying on a conventional separate amplifier. Good results therefore depend on three linked decisions: physical placement, a reliable hub/network connection, and room-aware tuning.

There is no single EQ curve or speaker position that is best in every room. Furniture, wall construction, listening distance and room shape all change the bass and stereo image. Triangle’s own setup material gives a concrete starting point—roughly two metres between the speakers—and then relies on automatic calibration and listening-based adjustment.
Check the room and equipment before connecting anything
Use Triangle’s room-size guidance as a starting point
Triangle says the Capella 2 is recommended for listening rooms between 15 and 40 m². This is manufacturer guidance, not a hard operating limit or an independent acoustic study. In a room that is much smaller, low frequencies can build up and sound boomy; in a much larger room, bass energy can seem diluted. Calibration can compensate for some room effects, but it cannot turn any room into an acoustically ideal one.

Prepare the essentials
- Stereo Hub 2 with its antenna and power supply.
- Both Capella 2 speakers and their power cables.
- A phone or tablet for the TRIANGLE CAPELLA app.
- Your Wi-Fi credentials, or an Ethernet cable if you plan to wire the hub to the router.
- A listening position where both speakers can be placed securely and aimed toward the seating area.
- Optional S05 stands if you want dedicated, matching support at listening height.
Do not assume the S05 stands are included with the speaker system. Triangle recommends them because the Capella 2 base fits their top shelf and the speakers are held at a suitable listening height, but existing furniture can work if it is stable and places both speakers at comparable heights.
Place the speakers for a stable stereo image
1. Identify left and right
Before moving the speakers into position, check the channel label on the back of each cabinet. Put the speaker marked left on the left side of your listening position and the right-marked speaker on the right. Reversing the channels can make voices, instruments and stereo effects appear in the wrong places even when the system is otherwise working correctly.
2. Start with about two metres between them
Triangle’s assistance guidance says, “For the best soundstage, a distance of around two metres between the speakers is recommended.” Measure between the speakers as a starting point, then adjust for your room and seating. If they are too close together, the stereo image can collapse toward the centre; if they are spread farther than the room supports, the middle of the image may become weak from the main seat.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3. Keep the supports level and secure
Use the S05 stands if you want a purpose-built option. Otherwise, choose furniture that does not wobble, tilt or allow either cabinet to overhang. The two speakers should sit at similar heights and remain stable when you connect or disconnect cables. A secure platform is more important than matching furniture.

4. Avoid inventing a fixed wall distance or toe-in rule
The available Capella 2 setup instructions do not specify one universal distance from the front or side walls, one toe-in angle or one fixed listening-triangle dimension. Start with the manufacturer’s two-metre separation, then use calibration and careful listening to refine the arrangement. Move both speakers symmetrically when possible so you do not introduce a left-right room imbalance while solving a placement problem.
Set up Stereo Hub 2 and connect it to the network
1. Attach the antenna and power
- Attach the supplied antenna to the Stereo Hub 2.
- Connect the hub’s power supply.
- Allow the hub to complete its boot sequence before trying to pair or configure it.
Triangle’s Canada assistance page says this initial sequence takes approximately 70 seconds. The WiSA indicator is used to show the hub’s readiness; wait for the ready state shown by your unit rather than repeatedly unplugging it during startup.
2. Open the TRIANGLE CAPELLA app
- Install or open the TRIANGLE CAPELLA app on your iOS or Android device if the current app listing supports your device.
- Follow the on-screen process to find the Stereo Hub 2.
- Choose Wi-Fi or Ethernet when the app asks how the hub should join your network.
- Enter the network details and let the app finish configuration.
An update may install during the first connection. That can extend the setup time, so leave the hub powered and connected until the app reports completion. App menus and operating-system support can change with firmware releases. A T3 review published October 10, 2026, described Android support as apparently incoming at that time; check the current app-store listing and Triangle support information before relying on a particular Android workflow.

3. Keep the hub where the network is dependable
Place the hub where your router connection is reliable and where your source cables can reach it. Ethernet is useful when the hub’s Wi-Fi location is marginal. Network streaming and casting depend on the hub remaining on the same local network as the controlling device, so avoid guest-network isolation if your phone cannot discover the system.

Power and pair the speakers
- With the hub powered and its startup complete, connect power to the left and right speakers.
- Confirm that each speaker is the channel identified on its rear label.
- Wait for the speakers to pair with the Stereo Hub 2. Do not begin calibration until both channels are available.
- Start playback at a moderate level and verify that sound comes from the expected left and right sides.
If one side is silent, first check its power connection and rear channel label, then return to the app’s device status before changing placement. Swapping speaker positions without checking channel assignment can create a second problem while you are trying to diagnose the first.
Choose the right source connection
The Capella 2 can receive music through network services, casting, Bluetooth or a wired device connected to the hub. Triangle’s tutorial material covers Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, AirPlay, Google Cast and Bluetooth, as well as wired examples such as a turntable, television, CD player and computer.
| Source path | Best fit | What you need to check |
|---|---|---|
| Network streaming | Music services controlled from the app or a compatible player | The hub and controlling device must be discoverable on the network; service login and availability are separate from speaker setup. |
| AirPlay or Google Cast | Phones, tablets and computers that support the relevant platform | Use the same local network and select the Capella system from the platform’s output menu. |
| Bluetooth | Quick playback from a nearby phone or computer | Pair with the hub and keep the source within dependable wireless range. |
| Wired input | Turntable, TV, CD player or computer | Connect the device to the appropriate hub input and select that input in the app or control interface. |
Turntable note
A turntable needs the correct phono-level arrangement before it reaches the hub: use a turntable with a built-in phono stage or place an external phono preamp between the turntable and the hub input, according to the equipment’s connectors. The Capella 2 setup material identifies a turntable as a wired example but does not establish that every turntable can connect directly.

Run automatic room calibration
Choose a calibration method
Triangle says automatic calibration can be performed from an iOS device or with a Triangle Zen microphone. The practical choice depends on what you have available:
| Method | Use it when | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| iOS device | You already have a compatible iPhone or iPad and want to complete setup without another accessory. | Confirm current app compatibility before starting; app support can change with updates. |
| Zen microphone | You prefer a dedicated measurement device or do not want to use an iOS device. | Confirm the exact Zen microphone model and Capella 2 compatibility before purchasing or connecting it. |
Run the measurement from the listening position
- Open the calibration function in the TRIANGLE CAPELLA app after both speakers are paired.
- Place the iOS device or Zen microphone at the main listening position as directed by the app.
- Keep the room quiet and pause music, television audio and conversations.
- Start the measurement and leave the speakers and measuring device still until it completes.
- Save or apply the resulting calibration profile when prompted.
Calibration is room-responsive: it is intended to adapt the system to the acoustic conditions where you listen, not to impose one “correct” sound on every room. If you move the speakers, change the main seat substantially or make major room changes, run the process again.
A T3 review reported that the app also exposed placement, frequency-response and subwoofer-integration controls. Those controls and their names may vary by firmware, so use the labels shown in your current app rather than relying on an older screenshot or menu description.

Listen before changing anything
After calibration, play several familiar recordings at a moderate level. Use tracks with known vocals, bass lines, cymbals and wide stereo effects. Listen from the normal seat rather than standing beside one speaker. Give the calibrated profile time to reveal whether the issue is a genuine tonal preference or simply an unfamiliar balance.

Make small, reversible changes
- Open Manual EQ in the app.
- Change one frequency region at a time and use the smallest adjustment that addresses the problem.
- Listen to the same passage again, then compare with the previous setting.
- Save a named profile or note the original values before making further changes.
Triangle describes Manual EQ as a way to adapt response to the room and your preferred sound signature. The manufacturer does not publish a universal numeric EQ curve for the Capella 2, and the available sources do not establish one. Avoid copying a setting designed for a different room, speaker position or listening level.
Separate placement problems from EQ problems
If bass is boomy only in one seat, or a vocal shifts toward one side, move the speakers or listening position symmetrically before applying a large EQ cut. EQ can shape frequency response, but it cannot fully correct a blocked speaker, an unstable stand or a severe left-right room asymmetry.
Use a repeatable listening check
- Centre image: A centred vocal should appear between the speakers, not clearly attached to one cabinet.
- Channel identity: A recording with known left-right effects should place them on the expected sides.
- Bass consistency: Low notes should remain controlled from the main seat instead of swelling on particular notes.
- Detail at moderate level: You should hear low-level accompaniment without needing an excessive volume setting.
- Long-session comfort: If the sound becomes tiring, reduce aggressive treble or return to the calibrated profile before making additional changes.
Change only one variable between listening passes. Moving both speakers, changing EQ and switching sources at once makes it impossible to tell which action helped.

| Decision | Option 1 | Option 2 | How to choose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Speaker support | Triangle S05 stands: matched top shelf, secure support and listening-height positioning. | Existing furniture: no dedicated accessory, but stability and equal height must be verified. | Choose the stands when you need predictable height and support; use furniture when it is solid, level and correctly positioned. |
| Calibration device | Compatible iOS device. | Triangle Zen microphone. | Use the device you already have, while confirming current app and accessory compatibility. |
| Network/source route | Wi-Fi or Ethernet hub connection with streaming, AirPlay, Google Cast or Bluetooth. | Wired source connected to the hub. | Use network playback for convenience and multiple services; use a wired input for a TV, CD player, computer or suitable turntable. |
The available material does not establish a sound-quality ranking between these choices. They solve different practical problems: support and height, measurement access, or source compatibility.
Quick Recap
Troubleshoot the common failure points
The hub does not appear in the app
- Wait through the approximately 70-second boot sequence.
- Check the hub’s antenna and power connection.
- Confirm that the phone and hub are on the same usable network.
- Try Ethernet if Wi-Fi discovery is unreliable.
- Restart the app only after the hub has finished booting; interrupting setup repeatedly can leave an update incomplete.
One speaker has no sound
- Verify that the silent speaker is powered.
- Recheck its rear channel label and confirm that the app shows both speakers paired.
- Inspect the source selection and play a known stereo recording.
- Only after those checks, power-cycle the affected speaker and allow pairing to complete again.
The sound is bass-heavy or thin
- Confirm that the room is within or near Triangle’s recommended 15–40 m² range.
- Return to the calibrated profile if Manual EQ changes were large.
- Move both speakers together in small, symmetrical steps and repeat the listening check.
- Run calibration again after a meaningful placement change.
Streaming works but a wired source does not
- Confirm the cable is connected to the intended hub input.
- Select that input in the app or control interface.
- Set the TV, computer or other source to output through the connected port.
- For a turntable, verify that a phono stage is present where required.
Final setup checklist
- Room and furniture are suitable for stable placement.
- Left and right labels match the listening position.
- Speakers begin about two metres apart and sit securely at comparable heights.
- Stereo Hub 2 antenna and power are connected, and its boot sequence has finished.
- The hub is configured in the TRIANGLE CAPELLA app over Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Both speakers are powered, paired and producing the correct channels.
- Your chosen streaming, casting, Bluetooth or wired source is selected and audible.
- Automatic calibration has been completed from the main listening position.
- Manual EQ changes are small, documented and based on familiar recordings.
