For the best picture and sound from the Anker Nebula P1, start with placement: choose an image size, set the projector at the matching distance, and aim it squarely at the screen or wall. Then let its automatic focus and image tools do their work, choose a picture mode for the room and content, and set the sound profile to suit what you are watching.
1. Choose a surface and image size
A flat, light-colored wall can work; a projection screen is optional. Decide how large you want the picture to be, then use Nebula’s published throw-distance examples to place the projector:

| Image size | Recommended distance |
|---|---|
| 60 inches | 1.59 m / 5.22 ft |
| 80 inches | 2.13 m / 6.99 ft |
| 100 inches | 2.66 m / 8.73 ft |
| 120 inches | 3.19 m / 10.47 ft |
These are manufacturer examples, not a guarantee that every room will produce an identical usable image. The P1 is specified with a 1.2:1 throw ratio, 1080p (1920 × 1080) resolution, and 650 ANSI lumens by soundcore/Nebula; its relatively modest brightness makes room light an important part of setup. A larger picture also needs more throw distance, so choose a size your room can accommodate rather than forcing the largest image into a short space.

2. Aim and stabilize the projector
Set the P1 on a stable surface or mount and aim it as squarely toward the projection surface as the room allows. Use its gimbal to point the projector head; Nebula lists a maximum gimbal angle of 130°. The manufacturer notes that the head does not automatically stabilize the projected image if the unit itself moves or shakes, so correct placement is more reliable than trying to compensate for a wobbly setup.

- 【All Your Streaming in One, Long-term Entertainment】: Access over 400,000 movies and shows through Google TV, including Netflix—no sideloading or external devices required. Google account and internet connection required for initial setup and Google TV access.
Keep the projector close to perpendicular to the wall or screen where possible. Keystone correction can help with residual trapezoid distortion, but digital correction is not a substitute for careful positioning.
3. Focus and correct the image
After positioning, allow automatic focus and image setup to run. Nebula’s support page provides separate tutorials for focusing, VisionFit screen fit and obstacle avoidance, positioning and resizing, and keystone correction: Nebula support guides.
If the picture still looks trapezoidal, use the documented correction controls: All settings > Projector > Keystone correction > Start Auto Keystone Correction / Perform Manual Keystone Correction. Menu wording can vary with firmware or regional software; if your screen differs, follow the current on-device labels or consult manufacturer support.

4. Select a picture mode for the room and content
Open All Settings > Display & Sound > Picture > Picture mode. Nebula describes these modes for different situations; they are the manufacturer’s intended use cases, not independent calibration results.
| Mode | Manufacturer’s described use |
|---|---|
| Movies | Color accuracy and dark or low-light viewing |
| Standard | Everyday TV in a well-lit environment |
| Vivid | Vivid color or brighter viewing |
| Sports | Sports programming |
| Games | External games requiring quick response |
| Conference | Very bright conferencing, teaching, or presentations |
| Nebula Master | Videos and movies in a dark room |
For a dark room and films, start with Movies; for everyday viewing with more ambient light, try Standard. Consider Games for an external gaming device when response is the priority, or Conference for a very bright presentation setting. Since the P1 is rated at 650 ANSI lumens by soundcore/Nebula, reducing ambient light is a practical way to make the projected image easier to see.
5. Set up the detachable speakers and choose a sound mode
Make sure the detachable speakers are connected before adjusting their sound profile. If one or both are not connected, use Nebula’s speaker reconnection tutorial.

To select a profile, open All Settings > Display and Sound > Sound > Sound Mode. Nebula describes the options this way:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Movies: louder playback with enhanced low and high frequencies.
- Music: a balanced, natural profile.
- Outdoors: reduced bass and higher maximum volume.
- Custom: adjustable bass and treble.
Choose Movies for a more emphatic film profile, Music for a more even balance, or Outdoors when higher maximum volume matters more than bass. The manufacturer’s descriptions are not a promise that one mode will sound best in every room or for every listener.
The P1 also has a Bluetooth Speaker Mode under All settings > Display & Sound > Sound. Use it when you want the projector’s speaker system to act as a Bluetooth speaker rather than play projected content.

6. Plan power separately for outdoor viewing
The P1 has no built-in battery. For outdoor use, the product page recommends the Anker SOLIX C300 and estimates approximately 3.5–3.7 hours with all features in use; this is a manufacturer estimate, not independently tested runtime. See soundcore’s P1 product information for that guidance.
Other setup details worth knowing
The official specification lists two 10 W speakers, Google TV, and app control through Nebula Connect on Android and iOS, alongside the P1’s 1080p resolution and 1.2:1 throw ratio (soundcore/Nebula specifications). Optional accessories named by Nebula include the D2011 120-inch inflatable screen, D2070 P-series quick-release tripod, D2051 carrying case, and SOLIX C300; none is required for basic setup. The support pages do not establish that every accessory is currently available in every region.
