Add a game to your Steam wishlist, then enable the wishlist alert channel you want: email, Steam mobile app notifications, or both. Steam says it can alert you when wishlist games are featured in Daily Deals, Midweek Deals, or Weekend Deals. You can also use wishlist category preferences to narrow which items generate notifications.
Turn on alerts for wishlist games
- Add the game to your wishlist. Open the game’s Steam store page and select the wishlist control. Check that the game appears on your Wishlist.
- Open Steam’s wishlist notification settings. In Steam’s current interface, look for notification preferences associated with your Wishlist. The public feature page does not document a complete, current click-by-click path, so labels may differ by client or change over time.
- Choose email, mobile app notifications, or both. Steam’s feature page says it can notify you by email or through its mobile app when a wishlisted game is on sale as a Daily Deal, Midweek Deal, or Weekend Deal. It also provides controls to opt out of email or turn off mobile notifications. Steam’s Wishlist Notifications page describes the feature and its opt-out controls.
Choose which wishlist items can trigger notifications
If you do not want alerts for every wishlisted game, check Steam’s wishlist categories and their notification preferences. Steam describes category-specific notification customization, but its public announcement does not show the full current settings flow. Steam’s wishlist update also describes notifications when a demo is released for a wishlisted game.

Valve’s March 15, 2016 announcement described email alerts for Weeklong Deals and custom-configured developer discounts as well as Daily, Midweek, and Weekend Deals. It also described controls for opting out of specific email notification types or all email. Those are details from that dated announcement, not confirmation that every control or discount category remains unchanged today. Read Valve’s 2016 announcement.

If a wishlist sale alert does not arrive
Check the channel you selected before changing settings. These are practical troubleshooting checks rather than steps confirmed in Steam’s feature documentation.

- For any alert: Confirm the game is still on your wishlist and review the wishlist notification preferences that apply to it.
- For email: Check the email address associated with your Steam account, Steam email preferences, spam or junk folders, and any inbox rules that might filter messages.
- For phone alerts: Review Steam app notification settings and confirm that your phone’s operating-system settings permit notifications from the Steam app.
