Razer’s published Synapse 4 instructions explain how to create and assign macros, but the Mac support information available from Razer is for legacy Synapse 2 on Mac OS X 10.10–10.14. Current Synapse 4 support for macOS is not established by those sources. Before following the steps below, confirm that your exact macOS version, Razer device and Synapse version are supported. Also, a device’s ability to record inputs does not mean every automated use is permitted in World of Warcraft.
Check Mac and device compatibility first
Razer’s current macro-creation and assignment guides use Synapse 4, but they do not establish current Synapse 4 support for macOS. Razer’s support page for Mac lists Synapse 2 for Mac OS X 10.10–10.14 and describes Mac support as English-only. That legacy listing should not be read as confirmation that Synapse 2 works with a newer macOS release or a current Razer peripheral. Razer Synapse 2 support

Check these details before setting up a macro:
- Your specific macOS version and whether the Synapse version you plan to use supports it.
- Whether your exact Razer device is supported by that Synapse version.
- Whether the macro feature you need is configured in Synapse or recorded directly on the device.
- Whether your intended use complies with Blizzard’s applicable rules.
Razer says Synapse 3 stopped receiving updates and cloud services on February 3, 2026. Installed devices remain configurable in Synapse 3, and Razer identifies Synapse 4 as its official replacement. Synapse 2 cloud-related features ended October 28, 2025; existing local profiles and macros remain available on existing PCs. Those changes matter if a tutorial shows an older interface or relies on cloud features. Razer Synapse 3 support information

Assign the saved macro to a device control
Creating a macro and assigning it are separate steps. Razer’s Synapse 4 assignment instructions say to select a device and programmable control, choose MACRO, select a saved macro and playback option, then save. Some controls cannot be remapped. Razer Synapse 4 macro assignment guide
- In Synapse 4, select your device and the key or button you want to configure.
- Choose MACRO, then select the saved macro.
- Choose the available playback option and save the assignment.
- Test a simple, intentional sequence in an appropriate setting before relying on it in play.
The exact options may differ by device and software version. Razer’s guides describe the software workflow; they do not provide a Mac-specific troubleshooting procedure or confirm that a particular setup works on a given Mac.

Keep World of Warcraft policy in view
Blizzard’s end-user terms prohibit unauthorized cheats and bots, including software that automates control of a game. The retrieved terms page is in Spanish and shows a revision date of November 30, 2023; it is not a ruling on every possible macro design or current enforcement decision. Check Blizzard’s current rules for your use rather than assuming a macro is allowed because the peripheral can record it. Blizzard end-user license terms
Razer’s older mouse FAQ gives recording multiple World of Warcraft spells to a button as an example of an on-the-fly macro. That example documents a device feature; it does not establish current Mac compatibility or approval under Blizzard’s rules. Razer advises checking the mouse specifications because on-the-fly recording is not available on every model. Razer mouse macro FAQ

If the instructions do not match your setup
- You are on a newer Mac than the legacy listing: do not assume Synapse 2 compatibility from the Mac OS X 10.10–10.14 support range.
- Your tutorial shows another interface: check whether it covers Synapse 2, Synapse 3 or Synapse 4, then use instructions matching the software and device you actually have.
- You want to record a macro without Synapse: verify in your exact device’s specifications whether it supports on-the-fly recording; Razer’s FAQ does not say this feature is universal.
- The macro would automate gameplay: review Blizzard’s current applicable policy before using it.
