Set parental controls separately on each streaming service: use a child profile’s age or maturity rating to filter viewing, block specific titles where available, and lock adult profiles with a PIN. The instructions below cover verified Disney+, Netflix and Prime Video controls. Crave’s current settings could not be verified from official guidance, so check its Help Centre or account interface rather than relying on an unconfirmed menu path.
Before you begin: know what each control does
These settings solve different problems. A profile rating limits the content available to that profile; an individual title block targets a particular show or film; and a profile PIN helps prevent a child from switching to an adult profile. A viewing filter does not replace checking which profile is active on each device or protecting the account password.

- Filter viewing: Set a suitable age or maturity rating on the child’s profile.
- Block a title: Use an individual title restriction if the service offers one and a specific show or film should be unavailable.
- Protect adult access: Lock adult profiles with a PIN where supported. Check separately for a setting that restricts creation of new profiles.
Set up parental controls on Disney+
Disney+ says controls can be managed in a supported web browser or the mobile app. Its Help Centre states, “Users can set content ratings for each profile.” Labels and availability can vary by platform or region, so follow the account interface if it differs from the route below. Set the child profile’s content rating
- Open the profile list and choose Edit Profiles.
- Select the child’s profile, then open Parental Controls > Content rating.
- Enter the account password, choose the rating you want, and save.
Titles above the chosen rating will not appear when browsing or searching in that profile. Disney+ notes that on-service promotions are an exception to this filtering behavior.

Consider Junior Mode and protect adult profiles
Junior Mode provides a simplified interface featuring content suitable for younger viewers. Disney+ also offers a Kid-Proof Exit challenge, which a child must complete to leave Junior Mode.
To set a PIN on an adult profile, go to Edit Profiles, select that profile, and choose Profile PIN under Parental Controls. Verify the account password, set the four-digit PIN, and save. Disney+ also offers a profile-creation restriction that requires the account password to create new profiles.

Set up parental controls on Netflix
Set a maturity rating
On the web, open the Netflix Account page, select Profiles, then choose Adjust parental controls for the child’s profile. Complete the identity check offered, choose Maturity Rating, and save. Netflix also gives this app route: My Netflix > profile name > Manage Profiles > choose profile > Viewing Restrictions > Maturity Rating. Editing the maturity rating for a Kids profile must be done in a web browser. Ratings vary by region; use the choices displayed for your account’s country. Block individual titles and lock profiles
Netflix lets you block an individual movie or show for a specific profile. Find Title Restrictions in that profile’s maturity settings and add the title. To stop a child switching to an adult profile, set a four-digit Profile Lock PIN.

Netflix’s 2022 guide also describes an option to require a PIN to add new profiles; because that guidance predates the current help page, check whether the toggle appears in your account before relying on it. Netflix warns in the guide that anyone who knows the account password can change account settings, so keep it private. Set up parental controls on Prime Video
Prime Video separates the PIN from the restrictions themselves: creating or changing an account PIN does not enable restrictions. It also separates purchase controls from viewing controls. Purchase restrictions apply across devices registered to the account, while viewing restrictions apply only on devices you select. Amazon provides device-specific instructions, so the Android steps below should not be assumed to match every TV, web browser, or iOS app.

Create or change the PIN on Android
- In the Prime Video app, select Profiles > Settings > Permissions > Change Prime Video PIN.
- Enter the Amazon account password, enter a PIN, and save.
Amazon’s instructions are specifically for Android and Android Automotive: Set up a Prime Video PIN on Android & Android Automotive.

Go to Profile > Settings > Parental Controls and enable the restrictions you want. Set purchase restrictions separately from access or viewing restrictions. For viewing restrictions, confirm which devices are selected; changing that selection matters because the viewing limits apply only to those devices. Amazon’s Setting Up support index lists separate instructions for Android, iOS, and web.

Lock profiles and keep the account PIN private
To enable Profile Lock, open Your Profiles, select Edit profile, choose the profile, then open Manage next to Profile / Account PIN and locks. Enter the PIN, turn on Profile lock, and save. Amazon cautions that the account PIN can bypass purchase and viewing restrictions on other profiles, restrict creation of new profiles, and override profile-lock PINs. Check every service and device
After saving settings, select the child’s profile on each TV or mobile device and confirm the expected limits are in effect. Use this checklist:

- Is the intended child profile active on every device?
- Does its rating match the viewing limit you want?
- Does the service offer title blocking for anything the broad rating does not address?
- Are adult profiles protected, and is profile creation restricted where that option exists?
- For Prime Video, are viewing restrictions enabled on each device that should enforce them, and are purchase restrictions configured separately?
- Can a child access the account password or account PIN and change or bypass settings?
