To connect Ray-Ban Meta glasses, install the Meta AI app, sign in with a Meta account, enable Bluetooth, charge and power on the glasses, then put them into pairing mode. The app should detect them and guide the rest of setup. For the Gen 2 model listing, the stated minimums are iOS 15.2 or later and Android 10 or later, but your phone must also appear on the model’s separate compatibility list.
The order matters: the glasses must be powered and ready before the app can complete pairing, and a blue LED is the key indication that pairing mode is active. You can enter that mode from the charging case or directly from the folded glasses, depending on the instructions shown for your model.

What you need before starting
- Ray-Ban Meta glasses and their charging case.
- An iPhone or Android phone with Bluetooth enabled.
- The Meta AI app installed from your phone’s app store.
- A Meta account for signing in.
- A charged case and glasses. The cited Gen 2 package includes a charging case but does not include a USB-C cable; most USB-C cables are compatible with that case.
Set the phone and glasses close together on a table while you work. Bluetooth discovery is easier when the devices are nearby, and leaving the app open prevents you from missing its pairing prompts. If you are setting up a used pair, ask the previous owner to complete the account-transfer process first: Ray-Ban says the glasses can be paired with only one Meta account at a time.
This guide covers Ray-Ban Meta glasses using the Meta AI app. It does not cover Ray-Ban Stories or Meta Ray-Ban Display products. App screens, firmware behavior, supported phones and LED behavior can change by model, software release and region, so follow different labels shown for your particular glasses.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Check phone and account requirements
Install the Meta AI app
Download the Meta AI app from the iOS App Store or Android app store, open it and sign in with your Meta account. The account is part of the official setup flow; pairing is not completed through the phone’s Bluetooth menu alone. Use the same account you intend to keep associated with the glasses, especially if more than one person in your household has a Meta account.
Check the operating system
The Meta Store listing cited for Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 specifies iOS 15.2 and above or Android 10 as the minimum Android version. Those numbers are minimum operating-system requirements for that listed product, not proof that every iPhone or Android handset running those versions is supported. Check the separate phone-compatibility list for the exact handset before troubleshooting a connection that cannot start.
A phone can therefore meet the version number and still be unsuitable if its model is absent from the compatibility list. Confirm the handset, operating system and region before buying accessories or assuming that a failed discovery attempt means the glasses are defective.

Enable Bluetooth in the phone’s system settings before opening the pairing flow. Keep the phone near the glasses during setup and leave the Meta AI app available while the glasses are searching. If Bluetooth was disabled while the app was open, turn it on and return to the app rather than trying to create a separate manual pairing entry first.
Prepare the glasses and charging case
First unboxing
- Open the case and remove the plastic tab separating the case and glasses.
- Place the glasses back in the case so they make contact with the charging contacts.
- Wait for the case LED to flash blue. This indicates that the case is ready for the pairing process described by Ray-Ban’s FAQ.
The tab is easy to overlook because the glasses may look fully seated in the case even when the battery contacts are isolated. Redocking after removing it gives the case a chance to recognize the glasses and start the first pairing state.
Put the case into pairing mode manually
If the case does not enter pairing mode after the initial dock, place the glasses in the case and hold the button on the back of the case for at least five seconds. Release it when the case LED flashes blue. Use this case-based procedure when it matches the instructions shown for your model and app version.
Hold the button for the full five seconds instead of tapping it repeatedly. The blue flash is the confirmation; without it, the app may continue waiting because the case never entered the required state.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Make sure there is enough power
If the glasses do not start, place them in the case and connect the case to power before trying again. The cited Gen 2 listing says the case is included and a USB-C cable is not; a suitable cable is therefore optional rather than a required special accessory. Confirm the connector on your case before using a cable.
Most USB-C cables should work with the referenced Gen 2 case, but the cable still needs to fit the case’s connector and your charger. A new charging case or Meta-branded cable is not identified as a setup requirement. If you link to a cable, describe it as an optional USB-C charging cable and verify model and connector fit.
Power on the glasses
- Find the power switch on the glasses.
- Slide and hold the switch toward the lens until the notification LED blinks white.
- Release the switch. White blinking indicates startup.
- Wait for the LED to become solid green before continuing in the app.
Startup can take up to one minute. Do not assume pairing has failed while the glasses are still starting. If no startup indication appears after charging the case and redocking the glasses, repeat the power-on step before moving to a reset.
The white blink and solid-green state serve different purposes. White means the glasses are starting; solid green means they have reached the state in which setup can continue. Pressing pairing controls during the startup minute can make it difficult to tell whether the problem is power or Bluetooth, so wait for the green indication first.

There are two pairing-mode procedures described in Ray-Ban’s FAQ. Both ultimately use the Meta AI app, but they differ in where the glasses are positioned, which button is held and which LED you watch. Use the route that matches your model and the instructions displayed in your app.
| Pairing route | Glasses position | Control held | Pairing cue |
|---|---|---|---|
| Charging-case method | Glasses placed in the charging case | Button on the back of the case, at least five seconds | Case LED flashes blue |
| Frame-button method | Both arms folded | Capture button on top of the frames, 12 seconds | LED inside the frames blinks blue |
Think of these as two ways to place the same hardware into Bluetooth pairing mode, not as two separate app setups. You still sign in to the Meta AI app and finish there. The case route watches the LED on the case; the frame route watches the LED inside the glasses. Do not substitute a case LED for the inside-frame cue or assume that a blue light means the same thing on every model.
Use the frame-button method
- Fold both arms of the glasses.
- Press and hold the capture button on top of the frames for 12 seconds.
- Watch the LED inside the frames. Release the button when it blinks blue.
- Return to the Meta AI app and follow its prompts to select and finish setting up the glasses.
Ray-Ban says the glasses should appear in the app within about 10 seconds after entering this pairing mode. If they appear, complete every prompt rather than switching to the phone’s general Bluetooth screen. Starting over in the phone’s Bluetooth menu can leave the app without the account association it needs to finish setup.

Use the case-button method
- Place the glasses in the charging case.
- Hold the button on the back of the case for at least five seconds.
- Wait for the case LED to flash blue.
- Open or return to the Meta AI app and follow the displayed setup prompts.
The FAQ documents both methods, but it does not establish that one procedure works identically for every Ray-Ban Meta model. If the app presents a model-specific method, use that method instead of repeatedly alternating between controls. A different button label, arm position or LED location is a reason to check the model instructions, not to force the 12-second sequence.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesUnderstand the LEDs during setup
| LED behavior | Meaning in the setup instructions | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Case LED flashes blue | The charging case is in the described pairing state | Continue in the Meta AI app |
| Inside-frame LED blinks blue | The glasses are in Bluetooth pairing mode after the 12-second capture-button hold | Look for the glasses in the Meta AI app |
| Notification LED blinks white | The glasses are starting up after the power switch is held toward the lens | Wait; startup may take up to one minute |
| LED becomes solid green | Startup has completed sufficiently to continue setup | Begin or resume pairing in the app |
These indications are the cues described for the setup flow, not a complete diagnostic code list. A different pattern on a different model should be checked against that model’s documentation. In particular, do not interpret the absence of a blue cue as proof that your phone’s Bluetooth is broken until you have confirmed the glasses are powered and the correct control is being held.
If your Ray-Ban Meta glasses still don’t appear in the app
Work through these checks in order. They address the most common setup-state problems without deleting your media or account association.
- Confirm power: make sure the glasses are charged, switched on and have completed startup. Look for the white startup blink followed by solid green.
- Confirm Bluetooth: verify that Bluetooth is enabled on the phone.
- Confirm pairing mode: use either the case-button procedure or the folded-arms, 12-second capture-button procedure appropriate to your model. Look for the relevant blue LED.
- Remove an old iPhone pairing: on iOS, open Bluetooth settings, select the glasses and choose “Forget This Device.” Then return to the Meta AI app and retry. Ray-Ban says this forget-device step is not necessary on Android.
- Restart the connection: switch the glasses off and back on, then quit and reopen the Meta AI app.
- Retry near the phone: keep the glasses and phone close together while the app searches, and allow roughly 10 seconds after pairing mode starts.
If the glasses still do not appear after these steps, contact Ray-Ban support. Treating a factory reset as the next routine step can destroy data and is not necessary for every failed discovery attempt.
On an iPhone, remove only the stale glasses entry that belongs to this pair. Then begin again from the Meta AI app so the app can recreate the association. On Android, skip the forget-device step unless the app or model-specific instructions tell you otherwise; the cited Ray-Ban guidance says it is not required there.
If your Ray-Ban Meta glasses aren’t pairing with the Meta AI app
When an old connection is blocking setup
An iPhone can retain an earlier Bluetooth association even when the app no longer completes setup. Use “Forget This Device” for the glasses in iOS Bluetooth settings, then start the pairing process again from the Meta AI app. On Android, the cited Ray-Ban instructions say that forgetting the device is not required; begin with power, Bluetooth and pairing-mode checks instead.
When the glasses never reach pairing mode
Redock them in the charged case, make sure the case is connected to power if necessary, and retry the relevant control: at least five seconds on the rear case button with the glasses docked, or 12 seconds on the capture button with both arms folded. The expected result is a blue flash from the case or a blue blink from the LED inside the frames.

When the app remains stuck after discovery
Quit and reopen the Meta AI app, power-cycle the glasses, and repeat the in-app flow. Verify the phone’s operating-system and handset compatibility separately; meeting the cited iOS 15.2 or Android 10 minimum alone does not establish handset support.
When you are tempted to reset immediately
Stop before selecting a reset if the glasses contain captures you want to keep or if they are still associated with your account. A reset is permanent for those captures and associations. Support can distinguish an app or pairing-state problem from a situation that genuinely requires erasing the device.
Factory reset: the last resort
A factory reset is not a harmless pairing refresh. Ray-Ban’s FAQ states: “When Ray-Ban Meta glasses go through a factory reset, it permanently erases all captures and any associations between the glasses and your Meta Account.” Import or back up photos and videos you want to keep before resetting.
Ray-Ban also says the glasses can be paired with only one Meta account at a time. If you are giving or selling the glasses to someone who uses another Meta account, a reset is required before that person can pair them. For a connection problem on your own phone, contact support before using this destructive step.
The one-account rule explains why a reset is appropriate for a transfer but excessive for a first setup that never discovered the glasses. If the glasses belong to you and have not completed setup, exhaust the power, Bluetooth, app-restart and model-specific pairing checks first. If they belonged to someone else, have that person preserve any wanted media and remove the association through the reset process before you attempt setup.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. After pairing is complete
- Keep the glasses associated with the intended Meta account; switching account holders requires the reset described above.
- Use the Meta AI app for the remaining prompts and any model-specific permissions or firmware steps it presents.
- Return the glasses to the case when they need charging. If the case needs power and you did not receive a cable, use a compatible USB-C cable; the cited Gen 2 listing does not include one.
- If a later app update changes a button label or LED sequence, follow the current on-screen instructions for your exact model rather than assuming the older sequence applies unchanged.
Keep the case available during future charging and setup tasks. The case is part of the cited Gen 2 package, while the USB-C cable is not, so check your box contents before ordering anything. Most compatible cables are sufficient; a special branded cable is not identified as necessary.

A compact setup checklist
- Check that your phone meets the applicable operating-system and handset-compatibility requirements.
- Install the Meta AI app and sign in with a Meta account.
- Enable Bluetooth.
- Remove the case’s plastic tab and redock the glasses.
- Wait for the case LED to flash blue, or hold the rear case button for at least five seconds.
- Power on the glasses by holding the switch toward the lens until the notification LED blinks white; wait for solid green.
- If needed, fold both arms and hold the capture button for 12 seconds until the inside-frame LED blinks blue.
- Complete setup in the Meta AI app and allow about 10 seconds for the glasses to appear.
- If discovery fails, check charge, Bluetooth and pairing mode; on iPhone, forget the old device, then restart the glasses and app.
- Do not factory-reset until wanted captures are saved and you understand that account associations will be erased.
Following the checklist in this order keeps the reversible checks first and the destructive action last. The decisive cues are simple: white blink for startup, solid green when startup is ready, and blue from the case or inside the frames when pairing mode is active.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the Meta AI app to pair Ray-Ban Meta glasses?
Yes. Ray-Ban’s setup flow requires the Meta AI app and a Meta account. Phone Bluetooth is necessary, but completing pairing from the phone’s Bluetooth settings alone does not finish the account-based setup.
What iPhone or Android version is required?
The cited Meta Store listing for Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 specifies iOS 15.2 or later and Android 10 or later. These are operating-system minimums for that listing, not a guarantee that every handset on those versions is supported. Check the separate compatibility list for your exact phone.
How do I know the glasses are in pairing mode?
With the case method, place the glasses in the case and hold the rear case button for at least five seconds; the case LED should flash blue. With the frame method, fold both arms and hold the capture button for 12 seconds; the LED inside the frames should blink blue.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
How long should I wait for the glasses to appear in the app?
Ray-Ban says the glasses should appear within about 10 seconds after entering the frame-based pairing mode. Startup itself can take up to one minute, so wait for the white startup blink to finish and the LED to become solid green before judging the connection.
Should I forget the glasses in Bluetooth settings?
On iPhone, if an old pairing exists, open Bluetooth settings, choose the glasses and select “Forget This Device,” then retry from the Meta AI app. Ray-Ban says this step is not necessary on Android.
The glasses still do not appear. Should I factory-reset them?
Not as a routine first response. Confirm charge, power, Bluetooth and the correct blue-LED pairing mode, then switch the glasses off and on and quit and reopen the app. Contact Ray-Ban support if discovery still fails. A reset permanently erases captures and Meta Account associations.
Can I pair the glasses to another person’s Meta account?
Ray-Ban says the glasses can be paired with only one Meta account at a time. A reset is required before giving or selling them to another account holder, and wanted photos or videos should be saved before resetting.

The cited Gen 2 listing includes the charging case but does not include a USB-C cable. Most USB-C cables are compatible with that case, so a suitable cable can be an optional setup accessory if you do not already have one. Confirm the connector on your exact case.
Do these steps work for Ray-Ban Stories or Ray-Ban Meta Display?
No. This guide is for Ray-Ban Meta glasses using the Meta AI app. Ray-Ban Stories and Meta Ray-Ban Display products can have different apps, controls and setup instructions.
The Bottom Line
Install Meta AI, sign in, enable Bluetooth, remove the case tab, power on the glasses and wait for solid green. Enter pairing mode with either the rear case button for at least five seconds or the folded-glasses capture button for 12 seconds, watching for the appropriate blue LED. If the app still cannot find them, retry the reversible checks and contact Ray-Ban support before resetting; a reset permanently erases captures and account associations.
