Free price alerts are easiest to set up with Google Shopping, Chrome on Android, or a retailer’s own price-history tools. For Amazon, CamelCamelCamel and Keepa offer additional ways to watch prices. Choose based on where you shop and which countries and devices the service supports, then set a target you would actually pay. Before buying, compare the same product variant’s history and verify the live price, shipping, and any coupon at checkout.
How do I set up free price alerts and track deals?
Start with the option that matches the store where you plan to buy. Google Shopping can track products shown in Google product cards; Chrome’s Android tracking works from product pages but has account, sync, and privacy-setting requirements. Amazon’s price history is useful for checking recent Amazon prices, while CamelCamelCamel and Keepa provide Amazon-focused watches and charts. These services do not all cover the same retailers or offers.

Availability and interfaces can change. Google says, “Prices are dynamic and subject to change.” Check the live listing and checkout total rather than treating an alert or chart as a guaranteed offer.

Set up Google Shopping price tracking
- Sign in to the Google account where you want to receive updates.
- Search for the exact product or a category, then find its product card.
- Choose Track price. If Google offers sizes or colors, select the variant you want.
- Optionally enter a target price, then tap or click OK.
- Allow notifications if you want push alerts. Google says a qualifying drop below your target can trigger a push notification and email.
To stop tracking, remove the product from Saved items or unsubscribe from an update email or notification. Google notes that features can vary by device or Google surface; its help page lists the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and India.

Track prices in Chrome on Android
Chrome’s Android price-tracking feature has prerequisites worth checking before changing settings. Google lists availability in Australia, Canada, India, Japan, and the US. You must be signed into Chrome with a Google Account, opt into syncing tabs and history, and enable Make searches and browsing better. That browsing setting is a privacy choice; review its description in Chrome before opting in.
- On Android, open the product page in Chrome.
- Tap the price insight in the address bar and choose Track, or open More > Track prices.
- To view tracked items, go to More > Bookmarks > Tracked products.
- For notices, open More > Settings > Google services > Get price tracking notifications, then configure mobile price-drop alerts or email.
Chrome says you can track products even with notifications turned off. Turning off alerts therefore does not necessarily remove the tracked item.

Check Amazon’s built-in price history
On an eligible Amazon product detail page, look for Price history beside the price. Amazon’s June 24, 2026 article also described using the Alexa for Shopping icon to ask about an item’s history. The article described 30-, 90-, and 365-day views, but the 365-day feature was rolling out in the US, UK, and India; check the product page for what is available to you. Amazon listed price history for customers in the US, UK, Canada, and India.

Set an Amazon watch with CamelCamelCamel or Keepa
CamelCamelCamel
- Copy the Amazon product URL and paste it into CamelCamelCamel’s search field.
- Choose the price type you want to watch, usually Amazon.
- Click the displayed -$0.01 link and select Start Tracking.
- Choose a useful threshold for your budget. The displayed one-cent drop is a quick-start default, not a meaningful target for most purchases.
CamelCamelCamel says it will email when the tracked price drops. Its guide does not establish coverage for every country or seller. See its quick-start guide.
Keepa
Keepa describes Amazon price-history charts and price-drop alerts. Its Chrome listing says users can set target-price or return-to-stock watches and can begin tracking without an account. The listing covers multiple Amazon marketplaces, but the sources do not document a complete alert-setup click path; use Keepa’s live instructions rather than relying on assumed menu names. Choose a target and decide whether a drop is worthwhile
- Set the alert at a price you would genuinely pay, rather than accepting a tiny drop as a deal.
- Compare the same model, size, color, storage capacity, or other variant in the history chart. A different variant can have a different price pattern.
- Check how the current price compares with the available recent history; the current price alone does not show whether the item was cheaper recently.
- At checkout, verify the merchant’s final price, shipping, and coupon. A tracker may not represent every coupon, shipping charge, offer, or variant.
- Do not assume alerts are instantaneous or that every promotion will be detected. The sources do not establish a controlled comparison of tracker accuracy or alert speed.
