To get late injury news on your phone, enable player-status or injury push alerts in the fantasy app for the right team or league, then allow notifications for that app in your phone’s system settings. ESPN and Yahoo explicitly list player-status or injury alerts; Sleeper and NFL Fantasy offer notification controls, but their documentation is less specific about injury-only alerts. No reviewed platform promises that every late status change will trigger an alert or arrive instantly.
Set up alerts in your fantasy app
Menu names can change between app versions. Confirm that you are signed in to the account containing your league and select the specific team or league where you want alerts.

ESPN Fantasy
- Open the ESPN Fantasy app and tap the Gear icon.
- Tap Alert Preferences and turn alerts on.
- Choose the relevant fantasy team and enable Player Status if it appears among the options.
- Check each team or league separately. ESPN says preferences are configurable individually, and a change in one league does not affect others. See ESPN Fantasy App and Alerts and Adjusting Fantasy Alert Preferences.
Yahoo Fantasy on iPhone or iPad
- From Fantasy Home, tap Profile, then Settings.
- Tap Push Notification Settings.
- Select the team or notification type, then turn on the options you want. Yahoo lists injury status among its push-notification information, along with items such as breaking news and game status.

Yahoo Fantasy on Android
- From Fantasy Home, tap the Profile icon.
- Choose Edit Team Notifications, then select the team.
- Choose the notification types you want and enable them. Yahoo identifies injury status as available through push notifications.

Sleeper
- In your phone’s settings, make sure notifications are allowed for Sleeper.
- In Sleeper, inspect the notification controls for the channels and topics you use, and enable relevant app notifications.
Sleeper documents both device-level and in-app controls, and says mobile push notifications are its only alert delivery method. Its reviewed instructions do not identify a dedicated injury-only toggle, so check the current options rather than assuming a particular category is available. NFL documents notification controls in these locations:
- Website: Open the relevant league, choose My Team, then Edit Settings and Manage my team and league alerts.
- App: Open the league’s More menu, then Team Settings, and look for Email Notifications or Push Notifications.

Check phone notification permission
An app’s alert preferences do not override the phone’s operating-system permission. If an app’s notifications are blocked at the device level, its mobile push alerts may not appear. Open your phone’s system settings, find the fantasy app in the notifications or app settings, and allow notifications. Sleeper explicitly documents this device-level control; the other mobile instructions also rely on push delivery.

Troubleshoot alerts that do not appear
- Confirm the injury, player-status, or relevant news alert is enabled for the correct team or league inside the fantasy app.
- Check the phone’s system settings to make sure notifications are allowed for that app.
- Verify that the app is signed in to the account that contains the league and that you selected the intended team.
- If the menu labels differ, consult the app’s current help center or in-app support; interfaces can change.
What alerts can—and cannot—tell you
These settings can surface news through the notification channels each app documents. The official instructions reviewed list settings and alert categories, but do not establish a delivery-time guarantee or promise that every late player-status change will produce a notification. For a time-sensitive lineup decision, use alerts as a prompt to check the player’s current status in the app rather than as a guarantee that you will hear about every update.
