Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe reliable way to set up vivo Vision is to follow the headset-specific manual supplied with your unit. vivo’s published product pages describe the headset’s capabilities, supported phone models, fit options and safety limits, but they do not document the exact first-use sequence for charging, powering on, fitting, calibration, hand tracking, phone pairing, media transfer or shutdown. Do not substitute instructions from a vivo phone manual.
Once the headset is configured according to the correct manual for your market, vivo Vision can display immersive and 3D media, panoramic photos, movable virtual windows and eye-and-hand interactions. The guide below explains what those functions do, which limitations matter and how to use the headset without guessing at undocumented controls.

What vivo Vision is
vivo Vision, also called the vivo Vision Discovery Edition in vivo’s launch announcement, is a mixed-reality headset. It combines a head-worn display with spatial interaction so that media and application windows appear in the user’s field of view rather than on a conventional phone or monitor.
vivo introduced the device as its first mixed-reality headset. The regional product information used for this guide is descriptive manufacturer material, not an independent test. No third-party performance study or independently verified benchmark was identified for the headset.

What is documented
- Immersive video with a 180-degree panoramic view.
- Spatial playback of 3D photos and videos shot on a phone.
- Panoramic photo viewing at the image’s original aspect ratio.
- A multi-window interface with movable, resizable and pinnable windows.
- Eye-and-hand interaction.
- An interactive drumming game demonstrating hand-based interaction.
What is not documented publicly
The available regional pages do not provide a first-use procedure. They do not say how to charge the headset, turn it on, adjust the bands, fit the light seal, calibrate vision or hand tracking, pair a phone, import media or shut the device down. Those actions can vary by hardware revision, firmware and country. Use the instructions packaged with your headset or the vivo support materials for your region for each of them.
Before you begin
Prepare the headset and the environment before attempting first use. This prevents you from treating a feature description as a setup instruction and helps you identify compatibility issues early.
Confirm the exact model and market
Check the name on the box, device label and regional support page. The product is referred to as vivo Vision and vivo Vision Discovery Edition, while the cited product pages are regional pages from Malaysia and Indonesia. Accessories, firmware behavior and phone availability can differ by country.
Locate the correct documentation
Use the manual supplied with the headset, not a guide for a vivo phone or another headset. The headset manual is the authoritative source for the charging connector, power control, strap adjustment, light-seal installation, calibration, pairing and shutdown sequence. If the box has no manual, obtain the support documentation for the same market and model before operating the device.
Plan a controlled space
Choose an uncluttered indoor area or a similarly controlled outdoor space. Keep away from roads, streets, stairs, traffic, machinery and people or objects that can move unexpectedly. The manufacturer’s warning is explicit: Use vivo Vision only in controlled indoor and outdoor spaces. Always be aware of your surroundings and body posture while using it. Never use vivo Vision on roads, streets, or near moving objects where collisions may occur.
Documented first-use sequence: what to verify in the manual
Because vivo has not published the mechanics in the cited materials, the following is a verification checklist rather than an invented button-by-button procedure. Complete each item using the instructions for your unit.

- Display or vision calibration: complete any eye, display or alignment process shown by the headset. The available product pages do not state its screens, timing or reset procedure.
- Hand and eye interaction: follow the on-screen enrollment or permissions flow for tracking. The product pages confirm eye-and-hand interaction but do not specify the setup gestures or room requirements.
- Phone connection and media: use the pairing and import method in the headset manual, and confirm that your phone belongs to the supported list for the particular phone-linked feature you intend to use.
- Shutdown and storage: follow the prescribed shutdown method and storage guidance rather than disconnecting power or removing the headset while an operation is running.
If a step in your manual conflicts with a generic description here, follow the manual for your model and region. Firmware updates can also change labels or menu locations.
Using the main viewing experiences
Immersive video
vivo describes an immersive video mode with a 180-degree panoramic view. This is intended to surround much of your forward field of view with video content, making head movement part of the viewing experience. The 180-degree description is a manufacturer feature statement; it is not an independently measured field-of-view test.
Start playback using the media controls shown by your headset’s software. Keep your head and body oriented safely in the prepared space, and pause before walking or reaching outside that space. If the image appears misaligned, return to the calibration or recenter control documented in your manual instead of changing the strap repeatedly.
3D photos and videos from a phone
The product page says vivo Vision can play spatial media—3D photos and videos captured on a phone. The statement does not mean that every phone, camera format or gallery application is supported. Use the headset’s documented import or pairing workflow and check the phone model qualification for the feature you want.
Panoramic photographs
Panoramic photos can be viewed in their original aspect ratio. This is different from stretching a conventional image to fill the headset’s display: the source panorama’s proportions are retained. The exact file-transfer and gallery controls are not specified publicly, so use the media instructions supplied for your unit.

vivo describes a multi-window display in which windows can be moved, resized and pinned. This makes the headset suitable for arranging several pieces of information in a spatial layout instead of stacking them in a flat phone interface.

Window mode and Immersive mode
The regional product page distinguishes Window mode from Immersive mode. Auto Recenter is supported only in Window mode. It aligns the screen as you turn your head, according to vivo’s description. The same caveat says Auto Recenter is not supported in Immersive mode.
Do not assume that a control visible in Window mode will appear in Immersive mode. If the view drifts while immersive content is playing, consult the headset’s documented alignment or recenter command; do not infer that Auto Recenter should work there.
Managing several windows
- Open only the windows needed for the task.
- Move each window to a comfortable position using the interaction method shown during setup.
- Resize windows so text and controls can be read without bringing them uncomfortably close.
- Pin a window only when you need it to remain fixed while other content changes.
- Close windows you no longer need.
vivo warns that opening too many virtual windows can increase system load, reduce smoothness and affect the overall experience. The warning does not specify a universal maximum, because the practical limit can depend on software, content and firmware. If interaction becomes sluggish, reduce the number of open or pinned windows first.

One numbered caveat on vivo’s regional page lists vivo X200 Ultra, vivo X100 Ultra and iQOO 13 as currently supported models for the relevant phone-linked feature. It also warns that availability of those models can vary by country or region.
| Phone named by vivo | How to interpret the listing |
|---|---|
| vivo X200 Ultra | Listed as currently supported for the specific phone-related feature covered by vivo’s caveat. |
| vivo X100 Ultra | Listed as currently supported for that same caveated feature. |
| iQOO 13 | Listed as currently supported for that same caveated feature. |
| Other phones | Support is not established by this list; check the exact regional product information and headset software. |
This is not a complete compatibility list for every function. The caveat applies to the relevant phone-linked feature, not automatically to immersive video, window management, hand tracking or every media format. A phone can be physically modern enough yet still lack support in a particular country, firmware build or application.
Fit, bands and optical inserts
vivo describes interchangeable single-loop and dual-loop bands. The choice can affect how the headset’s weight is distributed and how stable it feels during viewing, but the cited page does not prescribe which band every user should choose.

The headset is also described as supporting optical inserts. Before buying or installing one, verify all of the following with the local product documentation:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- That the insert is intended for your exact vivo Vision model.
- That the accessory is sold or supported in your country.
- That your prescription falls within the supported range.
- That the insert’s installation and removal method matches the headset manual.
- That the accessory does not interfere with the light seal, padding or tracking sensors.
The cited product information does not establish compatibility with third-party inserts or guarantee that inserts are available as standalone accessories. If the image is blurred, causes eye strain or appears doubled, stop and resolve the fit or prescription issue rather than continuing to recalibrate around it.
Weight, display and platform specifications
The following figures come from vivo’s regional product information and should be read as manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.
| Specification or claim | Published detail | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | Approximately 398 g | Includes the headset, S1 light seal, S1 foam padding and double-loop band. vivo says the figure comes from laboratory testing and that weight varies with accessories. |
| Display | Dual 8K display; resolution stated as 3840 × 3552 × 2 | vivo-published regional specification, not independently verified here. |
| Compute platform | Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 | vivo-published platform specification. |
| Screen-size comparison | “120-Foot Screen” at an equivalent viewing distance of 100 m | vivo’s laboratory comparison. Perceived size can vary by theme; it is not a physical 120-foot screen. |
The 398 g figure is not a promise that every configuration weighs the same: changing the band, seal, padding or optical accessories changes the total. Likewise, the 120-foot description is a way to communicate apparent scale at a stated viewing distance, not a measurement of a screen occupying a physical room.

Protect your surroundings
Keep awareness of your body position and nearby objects. Do not use the headset on roads, streets or near moving objects. Avoid walking while immersed, and remove or pause the headset before handling hot items, tools, vehicles or anything that requires an unobstructed view.

Keep the software workload reasonable
When several windows are open, smoothness can decline because of increased system load. Closing unnecessary windows is the first practical response. If the issue persists, save your work and use the troubleshooting and restart procedure in the manual for your exact device.
Troubleshooting without guessing
The headset will not start or charge
Use only the charger, cable and indicator meanings specified in the headset manual. Confirm the connection and allow the stated charging period. Because the available product pages do not document power controls or charging behavior, do not rely on a phone’s charging procedure.
The image is uncomfortable or misaligned
Pause playback, check the band, light seal, padding and optical insert, then repeat the documented calibration. Auto Recenter cannot be used as a universal fix: vivo limits it to Window mode.

Check the exact phone-linked feature, country and firmware. The three models named by vivo apply to a particular caveated feature, not necessarily to all headset functions. If your model is not listed, consult regional support rather than assuming incompatibility or forcing an unsupported workaround.
Windows feel slow
Close unneeded windows and unpin items that do not need to remain fixed. vivo specifically warns that too many virtual windows can affect smoothness. If performance does not recover, follow the manual’s software recovery steps.
Hand interaction is unreliable
Return to the hand-tracking setup documented for your unit and use the controlled lighting and space recommended there. The public product page confirms eye-and-hand interaction but does not publish the required gestures, sensor range or calibration sequence.
A practical first session
After the manual-based setup is complete, begin with a short, low-risk session:
- Remain seated or stand still in the prepared area.
- Verify that the display is comfortable and that any optical insert is correctly installed.
- Open one familiar media item before adding additional windows.
- Try a panoramic photo or supported 3D recording to understand the spatial presentation.
- Use Window mode to arrange a small number of movable windows and observe Auto Recenter there.
- Switch to immersive video only when you can remain stationary and aware of your surroundings.
- Close unnecessary windows before ending the session, then use the manual’s shutdown and storage procedure.
This staged approach keeps the first session focused on fit, visibility and safe interaction instead of testing every feature simultaneously.
What to verify for your region
Regional product pages can differ in supported phones, accessory availability and feature notes. Before relying on a capability, verify the product information for the country in which your headset was sold. In particular, confirm the phone-linked feature’s current model list, optical-insert availability, band options and any firmware or application requirement. Treat the Malaysia and Indonesia descriptions as regional references, not a guarantee that every market offers identical hardware or software.
