Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteStart the Infinix HOT 70 Pro 5G and begin its setup before moving anything. When the phone asks whether you want to copy apps and data from an old device, choose that option, keep your previous phone unlocked and nearby, then use a compatible cable or the wireless method shown on screen. A Google Account backup can be used when the old phone is unavailable.
Allow time for the copy, and check important messages, photos, contacts, files and app data afterward. The transfer does not guarantee that every download, hidden-folder file, account or app state will arrive, so keep the old phone until verification is complete.

Identify the phone before you begin
Infinix’s India product page calls the device Hot 70 Pro and associates it with model X6896. A July 16, 2026 Infinix announcement uses the name HOT 70 Pro 5G. These names refer to the phone covered by this guide; check Settings > About phone if you need to confirm the model on your handset.
The listed setup-relevant specifications are XOS 16 powered by Android 16, 5G support, a USB Type-C port, two nano-SIM slots and a microSD slot. Software labels and transfer choices can change with updates or by market, and the exact HOT 70 Pro menus have not been documented in a model-specific walkthrough. Use the prompts on your phone as the final authority while following the general Android process below.

Prepare both phones and your accounts
Preparation prevents the most common interruptions: a dead battery, a locked old phone, a full destination or a missing backup.
- Charge both phones. A large copy can take from a few minutes to more than an hour, and very large transfers can take longer. Keep both devices powered during the process.
- Unlock the old phone. Have its PIN, pattern or password available. Android may require the old phone’s screen-lock credential before it will approve a copy or restore.
- Connect to Wi-Fi. Google recommends an internet connection and Wi-Fi for both phones. Connect the Infinix when setup requests a network and leave the old phone on a reliable Wi-Fi connection.
- Check storage on the Infinix. Review how much space is free before selecting a large photo, video or app collection. If space is tight, decide which data is essential and plan cloud or computer storage for the rest.
- Keep the old phone available. Do not erase it, trade it in or sign out of important apps until you have checked the new phone.
- Prepare a SIM tool if needed. The HOT 70 Pro uses nano-SIM slots. A physical SIM move is separate from copying data, so have the eject tool ready if you are transferring a SIM.
- Check the cable plan. USB Type-C is listed for the Infinix, but the old phone may use USB-C, Micro-USB or a different connector. A cable must support data, not only charging, and an adapter may be required.
- Confirm app backups. Banking, authenticator, messaging, password-manager and game apps can have their own export, cloud-backup or device-approval procedures.
Make or confirm an Android backup
If you might need to restore without the old phone, confirm that the old Android handset has a current Google Account backup. Open its backup settings, run a backup while connected to Wi-Fi and note which account is being used. A restore can only offer backups associated with the account you select during setup.
Protect data already created on the new phone
If you have already taken photos, received messages or created files on the HOT 70 Pro, copy those items elsewhere before considering any reset. A factory reset removes data created on the new phone and should never be the first response to a failed migration.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTransfer from an Android phone during Infinix setup
Google’s general Android setup flow recommends copying during initial setup because the direct-transfer option may not be available later. Infinix may use different wording, but look for a prompt equivalent to Copy apps and data or Bring data from an old device.
- Turn on the Infinix. Select your language, region and other opening choices until the setup wizard asks about copying data.
- Choose the copy option. Do not skip it if you want a direct phone-to-phone migration. If the phone offers to restore from a Google Account backup instead, use that route only when a direct connection is not practical.
- Choose cable or wireless. Follow the method presented by the wizard. For a cable transfer, connect the two phones with a data-capable cable that fits both ports; use a compatible adapter when necessary. For wireless transfer, follow the pairing or on-screen confirmation steps.
- Unlock and approve on the old phone. Enter its screen-lock credential, accept the connection prompts and keep the phones close together. If Android asks which account to use, select the Google Account that contains your backup and app history.
- Select what to copy. Review the categories and estimated space. Deselect large items you do not need immediately if the Infinix does not have enough free storage.
- Leave the connection undisturbed. Keep both phones charged, connected and unlocked as requested. Do not remove the cable, turn off Wi-Fi or switch repeatedly between apps until the wizard reports completion.
- Finish account and security setup. Sign in to the requested Google Account, create the HOT 70 Pro screen lock and complete any fingerprint, face-unlock or system-update prompts.
- Wait for app installation. The setup wizard can finish before every Play Store app has downloaded. Leave the Infinix on Wi-Fi and power while remaining apps install.
Cable versus wireless transfer
Google’s Android-to-Android instructions state that cable and wireless methods support the same data in that documented setup flow. The practical choice still depends on the two phones and the options the Infinix displays.

| Consideration | Cable | Wireless |
|---|---|---|
| Port and accessory | The cable must fit both phones and support data. An adapter may be needed. | No transfer cable is needed, but both phones must follow the wireless pairing prompts. |
| Connection stability | Both phones remain physically linked; reconnect if the cable is loose. | Keep both phones on Wi-Fi and close enough for the setup process; the wizard may recommend a cable if wireless is unavailable or slow. |
| Charging during copy | A connected cable may not leave both phones free to charge. Start with charged batteries and use an appropriate accessory if your devices support it. | Both phones can be placed on their own chargers while they remain wirelessly connected. |
| Availability | Only available when the ports, cable and any adapter are compatible. | Available only when the HOT 70 Pro setup flow offers the wireless route for the old phone. |
Do not buy a cable solely because the Infinix has USB Type-C. Check the old phone’s connector and verify that the cable carries data. Infinix’s listing does not establish that a cable is included.
Restore from a Google Account when the old phone is unavailable
On the setup screen, choose the option to restore a backup rather than connecting to an old device. Sign in to the Google Account used on the previous Android phone, select the offered backup and enter the old phone’s screen-lock credential if requested. Review the categories and begin the restore.
This method depends on what was backed up. It can restore supported apps, settings and account data, but it is not a complete image of every folder on the old phone. Keep expectations realistic and retrieve files or app data that were outside Android backup by their original method.
Transfer from an iPhone to the HOT 70 Pro 5G
Use the iPhone-specific option shown by the new Android setup wizard. The exact categories depend on the phones, software versions and transfer method, so follow the HOT 70 Pro’s on-screen instructions instead of assuming that every iPhone item is supported.
- Charge and unlock the iPhone. Keep its passcode available and connect it to Wi-Fi.
- Start the Android copy flow. On the Infinix, choose the prompt for copying from an iPhone. If a cable or adapter is requested, use one that supports data between the iPhone and the Infinix; otherwise follow the wireless instructions provided.
- Approve the connection. Unlock the iPhone and accept any trust, pairing or permission message it shows.
- Choose the data categories. Read the list carefully and allow the process to complete before disconnecting either phone.
- Turn off iMessage on the old iPhone. Disable iMessage before or immediately after the switch so new text messages are not held in Apple’s messaging system instead of arriving as ordinary SMS or RCS messages on Android.
- Verify contacts, photos and messages. Open the corresponding apps on the Infinix and test incoming messages from another person before retiring the iPhone.
Some iPhone apps have Android versions, while others do not. An app that exists on both platforms may still require you to sign in again or use its own export and restore procedure.

What Android setup usually copies
Google’s documented Android setup-copy flow lists the following categories as commonly transferable. Availability varies with the old phone, Android version and the manufacturer’s implementation.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
| Category | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Apps and supported app data | Apps available through Google Play and data from apps that participate in Android backup may be restored. |
| Photos and videos | Supported camera and media items can copy; check folders and albums afterward. |
| Contacts | Contacts stored on the phone or SIM may copy. Contacts held only in another account need that account added separately. |
| Text messages and call history | Android setup lists text messages and call history among its copyable categories. |
| Music | Music stored in supported locations may transfer, subject to the method and app involved. |
| Settings and wallpaper | Many settings and the wallpaper may be restored, but not every manufacturer-specific setting is guaranteed. |
| WhatsApp chats and data can restore from the cloud after you sign in on Android and open WhatsApp, provided WhatsApp backup was enabled on the old phone first. |
Items that often need separate handling
A completed setup screen does not prove that every file and account arrived. Google specifically warns that some categories may not transfer:
- PDFs and other downloads stored outside the normal transfer locations.
- Media in hidden folders.
- Apps installed outside Google Play.
- Data from apps that do not use Android backup.
- Non-Google accounts and the data held by those accounts.
- Ringtones and some device-specific settings.
Use app-specific migration tools
Open high-value apps one at a time and look for their own backup, export, restore or device-transfer command. Messaging apps may require a recent cloud backup; authenticator apps may require an export or a new enrollment; financial apps can require identity verification on the new handset. Do not delete the old app or wipe the old phone until each service has been tested.
Move files that were not included
For files missing after setup, check the old phone’s Downloads, Documents, screenshots and application-specific folders. Copy them using a computer, a supported cloud-storage service or the app’s own export function. Check both internal storage and the microSD card if the old phone used one. The HOT 70 Pro includes a microSD slot, but inserting the old card does not automatically make every app’s private data readable.
Move the SIM and check mobile service
Data transfer and cellular service are separate. If you are physically moving a SIM, power down both phones when the manufacturer’s instructions call for it, use the eject tool, place the nano-SIM in the correct tray and restart the Infinix. Confirm that the SIM is seated in one of the two nano-SIM slots.

- 【Reliable & Supported】 Designed with a durable nylon braided jacket, this USB-C cable offers improved flexibility and long-lasting performance, tested to endure 40,000+ bends. Tinplate-reinforced connectors help protect against breakage at stress points. After startup, check the carrier name, signal indicator, phone number and mobile-data connection. A 5G-capable phone does not guarantee 5G service in every location or on every plan; network availability depends on the carrier, coverage and account.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Verify the HOT 70 Pro before erasing the old phone
Use this checklist only after the transfer and app restores have finished:
- Place a test call and send and receive a text message.
- Open Contacts and check several important entries, including contacts previously stored on the SIM.
- Open Photos and inspect recent pictures, videos, screenshots and albums.
- Search Files for documents in Downloads and other folders you use regularly.
- Open WhatsApp or other essential messengers and confirm recent conversations and media.
- Launch banking, work, password-manager and authenticator apps and complete any required sign-in or verification.
- Check Calendar, email and cloud-storage accounts that are not part of your primary Google Account.
- Confirm that the microSD card, if used, is recognized and that expected files are visible.
- Review free storage and allow pending Play Store updates to finish.
- Check mobile data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, hotspot and notification behavior.
Only after these checks should you create a separate backup of the new phone and prepare the old phone for resale, recycling or reset.
Troubleshoot a failed, slow or incomplete transfer
The transfer stops or a phone loses power
Recharge both phones, reconnect them to Wi-Fi if applicable and restart the copy from the setup flow. Google says a transfer can often be restarted after a power or connection interruption. Keep the devices close and avoid using them while the copy runs.
The cable is not detected
Confirm that the cable fits both phones and supports data. Disconnect and reconnect it firmly, try the compatible adapter requested by the wizard, and approve any USB or trust prompt on the old phone. If the ports or cable are incompatible, switch to the wireless method offered by setup.
Best Value
- Durable Design: Reinforced nylon exterior and a robust core ensure this cable withstands up to 5,000 bends, outlasting other brands
- Fast Charging: Supports Power Delivery for up to 60W high-speed charging when paired with a USB-C charger
- Versatile Compatibility: Works with virtually all USB-C devices, including phones, tablets, and laptops
- High-Speed Data Transfer: Transfer files quickly with 480Mbps data transfer speeds
- Included Accessories: Comes with a hook-and-loop cable tie for easy organization and a welcome guide for hassle-free setup
Wireless transfer is unavailable or very slow
Follow the wizard’s network instructions and keep both phones on Wi-Fi. Google notes that the device may recommend a cable when wireless transfer is unavailable or slow. If you do not have a suitable data cable, continue with the wireless route if the Infinix provides it and leave both phones powered.
There is not enough storage
Return to the selection screen and remove optional videos, duplicate media or apps you can reinstall later. Move large files to supported cloud or computer storage, then copy only the essential data. Do not delete the old phone’s originals until you can open the replacement copies.
Setup is already complete
Options vary by Android device. Look for a later transfer or restore command in Settings, or check whether the setup wizard can be reopened. If the only available route is to reset the Infinix and run setup again, first copy and back up everything created on the new phone. A reset erases that data, so use it only after protecting it and only when the expected transfer is worth starting over.

Messages or app data are missing
Check whether the old app had backup enabled, whether you signed in with the same account and whether the app supports Android-to-Android or iPhone-to-Android restoration. For WhatsApp, the old phone must have had WhatsApp backups enabled before the cloud restore can work. For non-Google accounts, add the account and use its own sync or export process.
Quick Recap
Key points to remember
