- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
2. Choose the floor position
Set the dock on a level, hard floor. Leave enough open space in front and around the sides for the robot to approach, turn, and back into the dock without striking furniture. Keep the dock clear of the bottom of a staircase and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum four-foot distance from stairs. A location that is easy to reach also makes tank rinsing and bag changes less awkward.
3. Connect power
Plug the dock into a suitable wall outlet and route the cable so the robot cannot catch it. Place the dock where the outlet is not controlled by a switch that may be turned off accidentally. The dock must remain powered for automatic debris emptying, roller washing, drying, and charging.
4. Seat the robot
Place the robot on the dock’s charging position. Confirm that it is seated correctly and charging before moving on to app setup. If it does not charge, remove and reseat it, check that the dock is powered, and inspect the charging surfaces for packaging or visible dirt.
Connect the Max 775 in the Roomba Home App
Phone and network preparation
Connect your phone to the Wi‑Fi network intended for the robot. Turn on Bluetooth and location services, and allow the app the network permissions it requests. The support article for the Max 775 Series lists compatibility with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi‑Fi and says the phone and robot should use the same network during setup.
Pairing procedure
- Open the Roomba Home App.
- Choose Add a New Product.
- Select the Max 775 Series when it appears.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the robot to your Wi‑Fi network.
- Keep the phone near the robot and dock until the app confirms completion.
- Leave the robot on the dock while the connection is finalized.
Do not switch the phone to a different network partway through pairing. If setup fails, verify that Bluetooth, location, and network access remain enabled, reconnect the phone to the intended Wi‑Fi band, and repeat the in-app process. If the app cannot discover the robot, power to the dock should be checked first, followed by the phone’s permissions and the robot’s position on the charging contacts.

Understand what the AutoWash dock does
The 775 AutoWash dock is more than a charger. According to iRobot’s product specifications, it automatically empties collected debris, washes and dries the roller mop, and dispenses StayClean mopping concentrate. The stated wash temperature is 167°F (75°C), and the stated drying temperature is 122°F (50°C). These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance measurements.
| Dock function | What it means for the owner |
|---|---|
| Automatic debris emptying | Collected dirt is transferred from the robot to the dock’s disposal system, but the dock still needs its consumables and periodic cleaning. |
| Roller-mop washing | The dock washes the roller mop after cleaning cycles; keep the clean- and dirty-water systems maintained. |
| Roller-mop drying | The dock dries the roller mop using its specified heated-drying process. Do not block the dock’s openings. |
| StayClean concentrate dispensing | Use only the solution and dosage identified for the Max 775 in the current owner’s guide or support documentation. |
Automation reduces hands-on work; it does not eliminate maintenance. Hair, dust, residue, and water minerals can still accumulate in the robot, dock, brush area, tanks, and charging contacts.

Max 775 care schedule
iRobot’s Max 775 product page gives a high-level routine rather than a component-by-component calendar. It calls for wiping the robot bin, rinsing the dock water tanks, cleaning charging contacts and brushes, and changing the filter every three to six months. Follow the current Max 775 owner’s guide for the exact removal, cleaning, drying, and reinstallation method for each part.
| Task | Published guidance for Max 775 | How to apply it |
|---|---|---|
| Robot bin | Wipe the bin as part of basic care | Inspect it whenever debris accumulates or emptying becomes less effective; use the owner’s guide for removal and drying instructions. |
| Dock water tanks | Rinse the tanks | Rinse as part of routine dock care and whenever residue or odor is present; reinstall only as directed and after required drying. |
| Charging contacts | Clean the contacts | Inspect when charging is intermittent or the robot fails to dock; follow the guide’s approved cleaning method. |
| Brushes | Clean the brushes | Check for wrapped hair and lodged debris; remove and refit parts according to the Max 775 guide. |
| Filter | Change every 3–6 months | Shorten the interval if the filter is visibly damaged, clogged, or exposed to unusually heavy debris, while retaining the guide’s instructions for cleaning and replacement. |
The three-to-six-month filter interval is the product page’s general recommendation. It is not a guarantee that every household will get the same service life: pets, renovation dust, fine powders, and frequent cleaning can load a filter faster.
How to perform the routine care safely
Robot bin
Stop an active cleaning cycle and return the robot to the dock before handling the bin. Wipe the bin as directed in the owner’s guide, paying attention to seals, openings, and the area where debris exits toward the dock. Do not reinstall a wet component unless the guide explicitly permits it; trapped moisture can encourage residue and interfere with debris transfer.

Dock water tanks
Remove and rinse the clean- and dirty-water tanks using the procedure shown in the Max 775 guide. Empty standing water before moving the dock or storing it. Inspect tank lids, seals, and fill areas for hair or residue, then refit them securely. A tank that is not seated correctly can prevent washing or create a leak.
Charging contacts
With the robot and dock disconnected from active operation, inspect the metal charging contacts on both sides. Dust or film can interrupt charging. Clean them only with the method and materials approved in the current guide, and make sure the surfaces are dry before returning the robot to the dock.
Brushes and roller-mop area
Hair and thread can wrap around rotating parts. Inspect the brushes and roller-mop area regularly, especially in homes with long hair or pets. Remove debris and reinstall every cover, end cap, or brush in the orientation shown by the Max 775 instructions. Do not force a component that does not seat easily; a misplaced cover can cause noise, drag, or an error.
Filter
Use the Max 775 guide to identify the filter, remove it, clean it if the instructions allow cleaning, and dry it completely before reinstallation. Replace it at the product page’s three-to-six-month interval or sooner if it is damaged or persistently clogged. A replacement filter should match the Max 700 Series Combo family and the exact robot configuration.
Cleaning solution: do not copy another model’s formula
The available official cleaning-solution guidance reviewed for other robot series does not establish a Max 775-specific formula or dose. Do not transfer a solution ratio from the Combo 10 Max or any other model to the Max 775. Before adding concentrate, check the current Max 775 owner’s guide or support page for the approved product, dilution, fill location, and maximum amount.

- Never improvise with household detergent, bleach, vinegar, essential oils, or another cleaner unless iRobot explicitly approves it for the Max 775.
- Do not increase the concentration to compensate for a dirty floor; excess solution can leave residue or affect the water system.
- If the wrong liquid has been added, stop using the mopping function and follow iRobot’s current support instructions rather than guessing at a flush procedure.
Choose compatible replacement supplies
iRobot’s official Max 775 accessories catalog lists Max 700 Series Combo products. Categories include a PowerSpin Roller Mop, Max 700 Combo filters, dual edge-sweeping brushes, carbon filters, debris bags for select AutoWash docks, and replenishment kits.
| Part category | Search wording | Compatibility check |
|---|---|---|
| Filter | “Roomba Max 775 replacement filter” | Confirm that the listing names the Max 700 Series Combo and the exact Max 775 configuration. |
| Roller mop | “PowerSpin roller mop for Roomba Max 700” | Check that it is the correct PowerSpin part, not a similarly shaped mop for another series. |
| Edge brushes | “Max 700 Combo dual edge-sweeping brushes” | Verify the attachment pattern and that both the robot and software family are covered. |
| Carbon filter | “Max 700 Series Combo carbon filter” | Confirm whether the part is for the robot, the dock, or another accessory location. |
| Debris bags | “replacement dirt-disposal bags for AutoWash dock” | Check the exact AutoWash dock model; the catalog specifies bags only for select docks. |
| Replenishment kit | “Roomba Max 700 Series Combo replenishment kit” | Read every included-part line and match it to your robot and dock before ordering. |
An official catalog category establishes that compatible genuine parts exist; it does not establish stock on a particular marketplace or compatibility of an unbranded substitute. Before buying, compare the robot model, dock model, part number, included quantity, and return policy. Keep a photo of the old part and its label until the replacement is confirmed.

The robot will not charge
- Confirm the dock is connected to power and the outlet is live.
- Reseat the robot so its charging surfaces align with the dock contacts.
- Remove packaging, dust, or residue from the contact area using the method in the owner’s guide.
- Check that the dock is level and has not shifted.
If charging remains intermittent after those checks, use the Roomba Home App’s support flow or contact iRobot rather than repeatedly forcing the robot onto the dock.
The app cannot find the robot
- Use a phone, not a tablet, for initial setup.
- Reconnect the phone to the intended Wi‑Fi network.
- Enable Bluetooth, location services, and network permissions.
- Keep the phone close to the dock and robot while following Add a New Product.
- Confirm the dock is powered and the robot is seated.
The dock does not empty debris
Check whether the robot is fully docked, the disposal bag or container is installed as directed, and the bin path is unobstructed. Inspect the robot bin and dock openings for compacted debris. Use the Max 775 guide for any cover removal; do not insert tools into the dock’s internal path.
The roller mop is not washed or dried
Verify that the water tanks are filled and seated correctly, the dirty-water tank is not full, and the dock has power. Inspect for visible obstruction around the washing and drying area. Do not add unapproved cleaner or attempt to bypass a safety sensor. If the dock still cannot complete the cycle, stop mopping and use official support guidance.

Cleaning performance or airflow declines
Inspect the filter, bin, brushes, roller-mop area, and dock transfer path. Hair and fine dust can restrict movement or airflow even when the robot appears clean externally. Replace a filter that is damaged or remains clogged after the guide-approved cleaning process, and verify that every component is fully dry and correctly installed.
A practical ownership routine
After a messy or high-debris run
- Let the robot return to the dock and finish its automatic emptying cycle.
- Check the bin, brush area, and roller mop for hair, threads, or sticky residue.
- Look at the dock’s water tanks and disposal system before starting another mopping run.
- Wipe or rinse the relevant parts using only the procedures in the Max 775 guide.
Every few weeks
Inspect the dock floor, charging contacts, brushes, tank seals, and the robot’s underside. This is a visual inspection cadence, not a replacement interval: the product page’s only stated periodic replacement figure is three to six months for the filter.
At filter replacement time
Record the date, install a filter identified for the Max 700 Series Combo, and check that the bin and filter cover close without resistance. Keeping the package or part number makes the next compatibility check easier.

The Max 775 product page supplies a high-level care list, but it does not publish a complete component-by-component timetable in the information summarized here. A detailed schedule found for the Combo 10 Max belongs to that different model and should not be presented as Max 775 guidance. Likewise, a cleaner dosage for another series is not evidence of the correct Max 775 dosage. When the owner’s guide and a generic web listing disagree, use the current Max 775 documentation or iRobot support for the model-specific answer.
