The setup path depends on the type. After you add it to your Apple Account, open Find My > Items and select it to see its current or last-known location and any recovery options it supports.
Check that your exact wallet model supports Find My
MagSafe attachment alone does not mean a wallet can be found in the Find My app. Confirm Find My support for the precise model, and check its iPhone and regional compatibility. Apple documents setup for its supported iPhone Wallet with MagSafe; ESR, for example, identifies specific Geo Wallet models as compatible. Those claims apply to the models named by each maker, not every wallet in its range.

Set up an Apple iPhone Wallet with MagSafe and Find My support
For first-time setup, attach the supported wallet to the iPhone from the Home Screen. Tap Continue when prompted, then follow the on-screen instructions. If the prompt does not appear or you want to add it later:

- Open Find My and attach the wallet to the iPhone.
- Tap Add, then Add MagSafe Accessory.
- Follow the prompts to connect it to your Apple Account.
The wallet must be a supported model and used with a compatible iPhone. If it is still associated with someone else’s Apple Account, that person must remove it before you can add it to yours. Apple describes this wallet’s Find My feature as showing its last known location, not continuous live tracking. Setup can also enable a notification if the wallet detaches and let someone who finds it see contact information. See Apple’s wallet setup guide.
Set up a third-party Find My network wallet or tracker
Use the maker’s instructions to put the product into discoverable mode; the exact action varies by model. Then add it in Find My:

- Open Find My and tap Items.
- Tap Add, then Add Other Item.
- Tap Connect when the item appears and complete registration.
If the item was registered to another person’s Apple Account, that person must remove it before it can be added to yours. Follow the product manual for its discoverability steps and any model-specific requirements. Apple’s third-party accessory instructions are at Add a third-party item to Find My.

Find the wallet and understand the location shown
- Open Find My, tap Items, and select the wallet.
- If Find My can locate it, check the map and the displayed location and timestamp.
- If it cannot be located right now, check the last location and time shown. If available, turn on Notify When Found and allow Find My notifications.
- For a nearby item that supports it, tap Play Sound. Tap Directions to open the displayed location in Maps.
These controls depend on the item; not every wallet supports sound or every recovery option. A location may be approximate or last known rather than live. Apple’s general guide says an item’s location updates when it connects to the Find My network. Apple describes that network as crowdsourced, using nearby Apple devices to detect an accessory over Bluetooth and report an approximate location; this does not guarantee an update at every moment or place. Know the difference between a Find My wallet and a tracker card
A wallet with Find My support is not the same product category as a separate tracker card added to a wallet. For example, Ekster documents a MagSafe-compatible Finder Card for Apple’s Find My network. It is an add-on tracker, not evidence that the wallet holding it has built-in Find My support. Check the exact card and wallet fit and follow the card’s manual: Ekster trackers and the Finder Card manual.
