Screens vary by model, so check your TV’s model number and use the matching guide if the prompts differ.
Before you begin
- Find the TV’s model number on the set label or packaging. Insignia setup screens and manuals can differ by model and Fire TV generation.
- Have your Wi-Fi network name and password ready. The official quick-start guide covers only models NS-50F501NA26, NS-55F501NA26, NS-55F501CA26, and NS-70F501NA26; it is not a guide to every Insignia QLED TV. Find the guide for your model through Insignia Support & Downloads.
Connect the TV to Wi-Fi during setup
- Power on the TV and follow the prompts displayed on its screen. The cited Insignia quick-start guide labels this step “COMPLETE THE ON-SCREEN SETUP.”
- When asked to connect to a network, select your home Wi-Fi network.
- If the network is password-protected, enter its password using the on-screen keyboard, then continue through the prompts.
These are the general steps, not a universal menu path. If your screen uses different wording or does not show these choices, consult the guide for your exact model rather than trying an assumed Settings route.

Choose Wi-Fi or Ethernet
For the model family covered by the cited Insignia user guide, internet access can use Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Choose based on the router’s location, the signal at the TV, and whether you prefer a wireless connection or can run a cable to the set.

| Connection | When it may suit you | What you need to know |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi | You want a wireless setup or cannot run a cable to the TV. | Distance from the router and walls or floors between the router and TV can make the signal inconsistent, according to the Insignia quick-start guide. |
| Ethernet | The router is reachable by cable, or Wi-Fi reception at the TV’s location is unreliable. | The cited user guide says the Ethernet cable is not provided. Ethernet is optional; the guide does not claim it is universally faster or better. |
If Wi-Fi setup does not work
- Check that you selected the intended network and entered its password correctly.
- If practical, move the TV or router closer together. Walls and floors between them may affect signal reliability.
- If you would rather use a wired connection and your model supports it, connect an Ethernet cable; you will need to provide the cable.
- If setup stalls or the instructions do not match the screen, look up the full user guide using the TV’s model number. Amazon Fire TV setup help is another official support route for Fire TV setup and Wi-Fi issues.
