You can set up a DGX Spark at home either with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse attached or from another computer on the same network. First, verify the exact 64GB SKU: NVIDIA currently marks that configuration “Coming Soon” and says it is available exclusively through participating OEM partners. The detailed hardware guide describes a 128GB system, so its specifications should not be assumed to apply to a 64GB unit. NVIDIA’s product page is the place to check the configuration and availability.

Verify the 64GB configuration before you buy

NVIDIA’s product page lists DGX Spark with 64GB or 128GB of coherent unified system memory, but labels the 64GB option “Coming Soon” and says it is exclusive to participating OEM partners. Check that the seller’s listing, SKU, and technical specifications actually identify a 64GB system before making a purchase or relying on a performance claim.

The detailed hardware overview specifies a 128GB system. Its fuller specification table—including storage options, dimensions, weight, and operating conditions—does not independently verify those details for the 64GB SKU. NVIDIA’s product page lists product-family specifications such as a 20-core Arm CPU, Blackwell GPU, 273 GB/s memory bandwidth, up to 4TB of NVMe M.2 storage, Wi-Fi 7, 10GbE Ethernet, ConnectX-7 networking, four USB-C ports, HDMI 2.1a, and a 240W power supply; confirm which apply to the exact 64GB partner system.

Choose how you want to do the first setup

Setup mode Prepare Useful when
Local A display, keyboard, and mouse You want to use the Spark directly and complete setup at its screen.
Network Another computer on the same network You want to set up and access the Spark without attaching a monitor or keyboard.

NVIDIA documents switching between local and network access after setup. The choice is about how you want to work, not a ranking of the two modes. The first-boot guide describes both paths.

Prepare the Spark before connecting power

  • For local setup, have a display, keyboard, and mouse ready. For network setup, have another computer ready to connect to the Spark and later join the same home network.
  • If using Ethernet, attach the cable before installation. Connect any other desired peripherals before power, because the Spark starts when power is connected.
  • Use a fast, reliable internet connection so the system can obtain required setup updates. NVIDIA advises against captive-portal networks and connections prone to dropping, such as phone hotspots.

If reliable internet is unavailable, NVIDIA points to system recovery media as an alternative way to install current software. Follow the Spark-specific recovery instructions rather than assuming enterprise DGX recovery procedures apply.

Complete first boot over the network

  1. Connect the Spark to power after preparing the network and peripherals. It creates a temporary Wi-Fi hotspot.
  2. On the other computer, connect to the hotspot using the SSID and password printed in the included Quick Start Guide.
  3. Open the setup page in a browser and follow the prompts. The Spark can take up to 10 minutes to install updates and join your home network.
  4. Wait while installation completes. The system may reboot more than once; do not shut it down or reboot it during installation.
  5. When the Spark joins the home network, its temporary hotspot turns off. Reconnect the other computer to the home network to continue accessing the Spark.

If the computer cannot reach the Spark after that transition, check that both devices are on the same network and that the router is not isolating devices. Restrictions on mDNS can also interfere. If network setup does not work, connect a display, keyboard, and mouse to continue locally.

Complete first boot locally

  1. Connect the display, keyboard, and mouse, along with Ethernet if you are using it, before connecting power.
  2. Follow the on-screen setup wizard. Choose the language and time zone; for local setup, choose the keyboard layout; then review the terms and create an account.
  3. Set optional information-sharing preferences. If Ethernet is not already providing internet access, select a Wi-Fi network when prompted.
  4. Let the system download and install software. Do not interrupt installation or power off the Spark while it is underway.

Choose a post-setup access pattern

You can keep the Spark connected to a monitor and peripherals, or work from another computer on the same network. NVIDIA documents NVIDIA Sync, SSH, and remote desktop for network access. Its built-in DGX Dashboard provides system monitoring, updates, and JupyterLab access. A local screen, remote connection, or mix of both can fit different tasks; the system overview describes these workflows.

Rank #2
Cooling Duct Compatible with NVIDIA DGX Spark GB10, 140mm Fan Mount Adapter
  • 140MM FAN MOUNT: Built around a 140 mm fan layout with approximately 124.5 mm hole spacing, creating a defined top-mount position for a compact workstation cooling setup
  • SINGLE-PIECE DUCT: One-piece fan shroud forms a simple airflow channel between the upper vent area and a 140 mm fan position, keeping the desktop workstation setup compact
  • TOP-MOUNT LAYOUT: Designed to sit above a compatible compact AI workstation, the cooling duct uses the upper device area without requiring a larger external frame
  • OPEN AIRFLOW PATH: The central round passage links the workstation vent area with the fan mount, giving the setup a clear physical airflow route without internal moving parts
  • COMPACT SIZE: Approx. 157 x 178 x 51 mm body keeps the fan duct close to the workstation, fitting home lab, AI development desk, and compact compute setups

Understand what the performance figures do—and do not—promise

NVIDIA advertises support for models up to 200 billion parameters and performance up to 1 PFLOP at FP4. These are vendor specifications, not independent benchmarks or guarantees for a particular 64GB partner system. Whether a model fits or runs well depends on factors including precision, quantization, context length, and workload. NVIDIA also describes linking multiple systems for larger workloads, but that does not establish the performance of a specific home setup. See the product page and system overview for NVIDIA’s claims.

Maintain the system and check version notes

NVIDIA describes DGX OS as a customized Linux distribution with hardware-tailored drivers, tools, and settings. Software versions and update timing can vary by system. The release-notes page lists DGX OS 7.5.0, NVIDIA GPU Driver 580.159.03, CUDA Toolkit 13.0.2, and Canonical Kernel 6.17 for the Founders Edition; these are release-note values, not a promise that a partner 64GB system has the same versions. NVIDIA’s July 2026 notes describe improved memory-pressure handling and caution that GB10 partner systems may receive updates at different times. Check the current notes for your exact system at DGX Spark Release Notes.

For recovery, use the Spark-specific guidance: NVIDIA says Spark recovery differs from enterprise DGX recovery and directs users to its DGX OS and recovery information, rather than an enterprise DGX OS ISO.
