You can stream an Assamese radio program to YouTube from a home computer using YouTube Studio and an encoder app. First make sure the channel is eligible for live streaming, then create a stream in Studio, connect the encoder with its stream URL and key, test the program audio and visual, and start the broadcast. The connection steps are the same for Assamese and other languages; what matters is preparing content and rights appropriate to your show.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel eligible for live streaming and access to YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
- A home computer and an encoder application that can send a live stream to YouTube. The encoder captures or plays your program and sends it to YouTube.
- A stable internet connection with enough upload capacity for the video settings you choose.
- Your program audio: for example, a live presenter’s microphone, prerecorded audio, or a properly routed combination.
- A visual to accompany the radio program, such as a title card, still image, or waveform. Use artwork you own or are licensed to use.
A USB microphone is optional if a presenter will speak live; it is not needed just to play music or other prerecorded audio. YouTube’s encoder workflow supports microphones and external audio hardware, but check the actual audio in a test before broadcasting.

Check that the channel can go live
YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and states that the person streaming must be at least 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so check access well before your planned show. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and encoder setup guide.
Prepare the radio program and visual
Choose the audio source
For a live host, select the microphone or audio interface that the encoder should capture. For prerecorded playback, select the application or system audio source used by your encoder. If the show mixes a host with playback, verify that both sources are routed into the encoder without muting one another or creating an echo.

Get the desired level via monitoring volume control when gaming recording. Smooth mic gain knob on the PC microphone gaming has some resistance to the point, easily for audio attenuation or boost presence to less post-production audio. (Only available for USB connection)
Choose an accompanying visual
Prepare a title card or other suitable image, or use an animated visual if your encoder supports it. A simple still image is often easier on a home computer than a complex animation. In either case, the radio program is delivered as an audio-and-video stream; test that the visual appears in YouTube’s preview along with the sound.
Clear rights before streaming
Only broadcast music, recordings, artwork, and other material for which you have the necessary rights. YouTube says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match can interrupt or terminate a live stream. Even if you have a license, YouTube says the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to avoid interruptions. A purchase, a general “radio” permission, or a license for another use does not automatically establish permission for a YouTube livestream; the applicable rights depend on the catalog and territory. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and its livestream terms.

Create the YouTube stream and connect your encoder
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, choose the option to go live, then create a stream or schedule one. Follow the Studio prompts for the title, visibility, and other stream details.
- Copy the connection details. In the stream settings, copy the stream URL and stream key shown by YouTube. Treat the key like a password: do not share it publicly, and reset it if you think it has been exposed.
- Open your encoder’s streaming settings. Choose YouTube or a custom RTMP/RTMPS destination, depending on the encoder’s options. Paste the stream URL into the server or URL field and the stream key into the key field. Use RTMPS if your encoder supports it.
- Set the audio and video inputs. Select the program audio source and the prepared visual. Choose resolution and bitrate that your computer and measured upload connection can sustain.
- Start sending the stream from the encoder. Return to Live Control Room and wait for YouTube to receive the signal and show the preview. For a scheduled encoder broadcast, use Studio’s Go live control after the preview is available.
- Monitor the broadcast. Watch Studio’s stream-health messages and check that both the visual and audio remain correct throughout the show.
YouTube’s step-by-step instructions for creating an encoder stream are at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

Encoder settings to use as a starting point
YouTube’s published encoder recommendations are a starting profile, not a promise that every computer or internet connection can sustain a given resolution. Set the video quality according to your measured upload capacity and leave headroom for normal network variation.

- Positionable design: Pivot the mic in relation to the sound source to optimize your sound quality thanks to the adjustable desktop stand and track your voice in real time with no-latency monitoring
| Setting | Starting guidance | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Protocol | RTMP or RTMPS; use RTMPS where supported | Make sure the encoder’s server URL matches the one shown in Live Control Room. |
| Rate control | CBR (constant bitrate) | Choose a bitrate appropriate to your video resolution and stable upload capacity. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds recommended; no more than 4 seconds | Set the encoder’s keyframe interval accordingly. |
| Audio codec | AAC or MP3 | Listen for clipping, silence, or unintended duplicated audio. |
| Stereo audio | 44.1 kHz sample rate and 128 kbps bitrate listed in YouTube’s advanced settings | Confirm the encoder is sending stereo if the program is mixed in stereo. |
For exact video bitrate choices by resolution, consult YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions; select a profile your connection can reliably carry rather than choosing the highest available setting. YouTube recommends keeping about 20% upload headroom and checking the stream preview before going live. The same guidance recommends monitoring the audio, video, and stream-health information during the broadcast. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
Run a test before the Assamese program goes live
- Use the same computer, encoder settings, audio sources, and visual you plan to use for the actual show.
- Start the encoder and confirm that YouTube Studio receives its signal and displays the expected preview.
- Listen to the preview on a second device if possible. Check speech clarity and music level, and listen for silence, echo, clipping, or duplicated desktop audio.
- Check that the visual is legible and that the stream-health panel shows no problem you need to resolve.
- If the test is clean, follow the scheduled or immediate Go live flow in Live Control Room.
Common problems and fixes
- Live streaming is not available yet: verify that the channel meets YouTube’s eligibility requirements and enable the feature ahead of time. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder signal: check that the stream URL and key were copied from the correct Studio stream and pasted into the corresponding encoder fields. If the key may have been exposed, reset it in Studio and update the encoder.
- Preview has no sound: confirm the encoder is capturing the intended microphone, application, or system-audio input; check source mute controls and levels, then repeat the test.
- There is an echo or doubled audio: inspect the encoder’s selected inputs for simultaneous capture of the same sound through a microphone and desktop audio. Disable the duplicate path and test again.
- Stream health reports instability: reduce the video bitrate or resolution to a level the connection can sustain, and preserve the recommended upload headroom. Check again before going live.
- The stream is interrupted after a copyright match: stop using the matched content unless you have the rights needed for this YouTube use. If you are licensed, contact the rights holder about adding your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone may not prevent an automated interruption.
