What All of Fabric 6 is—and what you need
All of Fabric 6 is a Fabric-based modpack for Minecraft: Java Edition 1.19.2. The TeamAOE project listing describes it as containing more than 390 mods and 1,000-plus quests, and publishes a separate file named All of Fabric 6 Server. That server file is not interchangeable with an ordinary client download: it contains the files and layout intended for a dedicated server.

The 4 GB figure is the pack author’s published baseline, not a guarantee for every world. Chunk loading, view distance, automation-heavy bases, exploration, and additional players can change the requirement. Reserve memory for the operating system and other services instead of assigning all installed RAM to Java.

Choose Java carefully for Minecraft 1.19.2
Fabric’s current documentation says, “For Minecraft 1.20.5 and higher we recommend using Java 21.” AOF6 targets 1.19.2, so that statement does not automatically make Java 21 correct for your pack. Check the AOF6 release notes, included launch script, and dependency requirements first. If the pack’s script calls a particular Java executable or documents a specific major version, follow that requirement.
Check the runtime before installing
- Open a terminal, Command Prompt, or PowerShell window.
- Run
java -version. - Record the major version shown and compare it with the AOF6 release documentation and the server script.
- If more than one Java installation exists, use the full path to the supported executable in your startup script so the server does not silently use the wrong one.
A Java mismatch commonly appears as an immediate launch failure, an unsupported class-file error, or a server that exits before the Fabric loader finishes. Changing Java versions at random can obscure the real problem; first confirm the Minecraft, Fabric loader, and pack versions as a set.

Download matching client and server releases
Use the official All of Fabric 6 project listing on CurseForge to download both the client release and the separately listed server pack. Match the release number exactly. A newer client connecting to an older server pack—or the reverse—can produce mod-list and registry mismatches even when both files are labelled AOF6.
What to download
- The client profile or client archive for the release you intend to play.
- The All of Fabric 6 Server file for that same release.
- The Fabric server launcher or the Fabric Installer, if the server pack does not already include a suitable launcher.
Keep the original downloads until the server has started successfully. They make it easier to compare versions or restore a file if an archive is extracted incorrectly.
Install the Fabric server launcher
Fabric describes its executable server jar as a small launcher that starts a Fabric-enabled Minecraft server using the selected versions. You can download that executable or use the Fabric Installer’s Server tab. Place the launcher in a new, dedicated directory rather than in your general downloads folder.
Create a clean server directory
- Use a short path without unusual permissions or cloud-sync conflicts.
- Give the account that will run Minecraft read and write access.
- Do not place unrelated worlds, old modpacks, or another server’s
modsfolder in the directory.
Run the launcher once
From that directory, use the Fabric command pattern below, replacing the filename with the actual launcher jar. The memory values are examples; set them to your host’s allocation plan.

java -Xmx2G -jar <fabric server launcher jar file name> noguiThe first run downloads or generates the files required by the selected Minecraft and Fabric versions. It may stop before the world is created because Minecraft requires an EULA decision. Read the console output rather than treating a normal first-run stop as a crash.
Install the AOF6 server pack
Stop the process cleanly after the first launcher run. Extract the contents of the matching AOF6 server archive directly into the server directory. If your archive contains a top-level folder, open it and copy the contents so that the launcher and server files sit together; avoid creating an unintended path such as server/AOF6-server/server.jar unless the host’s instructions explicitly require it.
Files that should remain together
- The Fabric launcher jar and the generated
server.jar. - The complete
librariesdirectory. - The pack’s
modsandconfigdirectories. server.properties,eula.txt, logs, and any generated scripts.- The world directory after the first successful world creation.
Do not merge an old pack’s mods or config directory into the new one. A single leftover jar can cause a dependency conflict that looks unrelated to the update.
Accept the EULA and complete the first boot
- Run the server once and wait for the process to stop or report that the EULA must be accepted.
- Open
eula.txtin the server directory. - Read the linked Minecraft EULA and change
eula=falsetoeula=trueonly if you agree to it. - Save the file without changing its name or extension.
- Start the same launch command again.
Watch the console until Fabric finishes loading and reports that the server is ready for connections. A successful process that later stops with a clear missing-dependency or mixin error is not ready for players; resolve the first meaningful error in the log before testing a client.

Set the server’s basic rules
After the first boot, stop the server with its console stop command. Edit server.properties with a plain-text editor, save it, and restart. The exact settings you need depend on how you want to play, but these are the important controls:
- Server name or MOTD: Give players a recognizable name.
- Difficulty: Choose the world difficulty before inviting players.
- View distance: Controls how far the server keeps terrain visible and loaded for players; lower values reduce work.
- Simulation distance: Controls how far entities, redstone, and other ticking activity continue; lowering it can help a busy world.
- Whitelist: Enable it for a private group and add players by their Java Edition usernames.
- Port: Keep the chosen value consistent with the firewall and router rules. Change it only when you have a reason.
Make one change at a time and restart after editing the file. A typo or an invalid value can prevent startup, while a setting changed during a running server may not take effect until the next restart.

Make every client match the server
Modded Minecraft is not tolerant of casual version differences. Every player should install the same AOF6 release, Minecraft version, Fabric loader, and dependency versions as the server. Fabric’s mod guidance also requires mods to target the correct Minecraft version, use Fabric rather than another loader, and run on Java Edition. Most Fabric mods require Fabric API, which must match the pack’s included version.

Keep client-only mods on the client
On Windows, Fabric recommends creating and testing the client instance first, then copying only server-compatible mods into the server’s mods directory. Graphics, shaders, minimaps that depend on client rendering, and other client-only performance or interface mods should not be copied to a dedicated server. If a mod’s page does not clearly state that it is server-compatible, check its documentation before installing it server-side.
Use a clean client when diagnosing a join failure
- Close the game and launcher.
- Back up the client profile’s
modsandconfigfolders. - Reinstall or repair the exact AOF6 client release.
- Compare the resulting mod filenames and versions with the server archive.
- Reconnect before adding optional client-only mods back one at a time.
Do not “fix” a mismatch by downloading the newest version of a single jar. The pack was tested as a collection, and changing one dependency can require changes to several others.
Start with a sensible memory and performance plan
AOF6’s published guidance is at least 4 GB for a smooth experience with 5–10 players. Treat that as the starting point for the Java heap, then account for your operating system, Java process overhead, and any other services on the machine. Assigning every available gigabyte to -Xmx can make the host swap or become unresponsive.
Set initial heap values
Once you know the supported Java runtime and have confirmed the pack starts, use explicit minimum and maximum heap values in your script. For example:
java -Xms2G -Xmx4G -jar <fabric server launcher jar file name> noguiThe example reserves a smaller starting heap and permits growth to the stated maximum. Adjust it to your machine and player load; do not copy it blindly to a host with less available memory. If the console shows repeated out-of-memory errors, inspect the log and workload before simply raising the limit.

Reduce load before buying or allocating more memory
- Lower view distance and simulation distance in
server.properties. - Ask players to avoid generating enormous unexplored areas simultaneously.
- Stop unrelated applications and services on a self-hosted machine.
- Watch tick times, garbage-collection pauses, CPU saturation, and disk activity rather than relying only on the heap percentage.
- Change one setting at a time so you can identify which change helped.
Back up the world and configuration before changing the pack, Fabric loader, or individual mods. A backup is more useful than a larger heap if an update damages a world or changes generation behavior.
Open network access only when you need it
Local-network play
For players on the same home network, run the server on the host’s private address and allow the Java process through the operating system firewall. Internet port forwarding is not required for a private LAN session. Give friends the host’s local address and the configured port.
Internet play
For remote players, permit the chosen port in the host firewall and forward that port on the router to the server machine. The router must forward to a stable local address, so reserve the server computer’s address in DHCP or configure it according to your network administrator’s practice. Exposing a port makes the server reachable from the internet; use a whitelist, strong account security, and regular backups.

Some residential connections use carrier-grade NAT or block inbound ports. In that situation, a managed host or a private overlay network may be more practical than repeatedly changing server settings. The modpack installation still requires the same matching AOF6 files and Java support.

A managed Minecraft host can simplify power, networking, and backup administration, but the important question is whether it can import this exact Fabric server pack without silently replacing files. Compare services using the technical criteria below rather than a generic “Minecraft support” label.

| Total cost | What is included in the recurring price, and are storage, backups, extra ports, or transfers charged separately? |
Before paying, verify current Java options, AOF6 server-pack import behavior, RAM allocation, backup restoration, and cancellation terms. A provider’s generic Fabric support does not prove that this particular 1.19.2 pack will start unchanged.
Troubleshoot the most common failures
The server crashes immediately
- Run
java -versionand compare the result with the AOF6 release requirement. - Confirm that the server is using Minecraft 1.19.2 and the Fabric loader selected by the pack.
- Check that the launcher filename in your script is correct and that the jar is in the current directory.
- Read the first complete error and its “caused by” section; later stack traces are often consequences.
- Restore the original server-pack files if you recently replaced a mod, loader, or library.
A dependency is missing
Use the dependency version included with the matching server pack. Do not download a random newer jar from a search result. Check whether the dependency belongs in mods, whether it is client-only, and whether another mod requires a specific version range.
The client gets a mod-mismatch or registry error
- Write down the exact AOF6 release shown by the server and client.
- Compare Minecraft and Fabric loader versions.
- Compare the complete mod filenames and versions, including libraries that may not be visible in the launcher’s profile summary.
- Remove client-only files from the server and reinstall the client profile if its folder has been modified.
- Copy configuration files only when the affected mod requires synchronized settings.
The server runs out of memory or lags
- Confirm that the Java heap has a realistic maximum and that the operating system still has free memory.
- Reduce view and simulation distances.
- Inspect logs for repeated garbage collection, chunk-generation spikes, or a mod repeatedly reporting errors.
- Check CPU and disk usage; a heap increase cannot fix a saturated processor or slow storage.
- Test with the same player activity that caused the problem, changing only one variable between tests.
A remote host cannot start the uploaded server
Fabric’s upload guidance specifically calls out the launcher, server.properties, server.jar, and the complete libraries directory. Confirm that those items—and the AOF6 mods and config directories—were uploaded at the server root rather than nested inside an extra archive folder. Then verify the host is invoking the intended Java runtime and launch command.
The world will not load after an update
Stop the server, restore the last known-good world and configuration backup, and test the new pack in a separate directory. Do not repeatedly start and stop a damaged world while swapping jars; that can make recovery harder. Once the new release starts with a copy of the world, schedule the migration during a maintenance window.
Backups, updates, and routine operation
Make a restorable backup
- Tell players to disconnect and run the console’s
save-allcommand. - Stop the server cleanly.
- Copy the world directory,
server.properties,config, and any custom scripts to storage outside the live server directory. - Keep at least one backup from before each pack or loader update.
- Periodically test restoring a backup to a separate test directory; a file that has never been restored is not a verified backup.
Update in a controlled order
- Record the current AOF6 release, Minecraft version, Fabric loader, Java version, and installed mods.
- Stop the server and create a complete backup.
- Download the new client and matching server release together.
- Install the new server pack in a fresh directory instead of overwriting the working installation.
- Start it without the production world first and resolve loader or dependency errors.
- Copy the world only after the clean test succeeds, then test with one client before reopening access.
This approach leaves the old directory available for rollback and prevents stale jars from surviving an update.
Final pre-invite checklist
- The client and server are the same AOF6 release for Minecraft 1.19.2.
- The selected Java runtime is supported by that release and is the one actually used by the launch script.
- The server pack was extracted at the server root, with its libraries, mods, and config files intact.
- The EULA was accepted and the server reaches a ready state without unresolved errors.
- Server name, difficulty, view distance, simulation distance, whitelist, and port are configured.
- Each player has a clean, matching Fabric client and no incompatible extra mods.
- Firewall and router rules expose the server only as needed.
- A world backup exists, and you know how to restore it.
Once those checks pass, connect with the matching AOF6 client, watch the console during the first join, and keep the initial session small enough to identify performance or compatibility problems before opening the server to everyone.
