What the agent needs to do
For an ordinary ecommerce page, a browser-level screenshot is usually the right evidence: it records what the page rendered in the selected viewport or across the full page. The agent should use DOM or accessibility information to find and operate controls, then use the screenshot to inspect the result. Playwright cautions that screenshots are for looking at, not acting on; use a browser snapshot to get references for interaction. Playwright screenshot documentation

Set browser context without assuming it controls the retailer
Locale
locale="en-IN" is a reasonable choice for India-oriented locale behavior and number formatting. Locale is not a currency switch: it does not guarantee that Amazon India, another retailer, or a particular product page will display prices in rupees. The consulted official documentation does not establish the currency-selection rules for individual retailers. Check the actual rendered page.

Viewport and device
Choose a viewport that matches the evidence you need. The sample uses a 1365-by-900 desktop viewport; for a mobile capture, select an appropriate Playwright device profile or use a mobile-sized viewport. Page state
A page can show a region prompt, consent banner, delayed product information, or other UI before the price is visible. Use DOM or accessibility snapshots to locate controls, and interact only in ways allowed by the retailer. A screenshot records the resulting visual state; it does not establish that a displayed price is available to every visitor or account.
Verify the page really displays rupees
Before treating the image as a rupee-priced example, inspect the price on the rendered page. Look for the rupee symbol (₹) or the currency code INR in the relevant product-price area. Where possible, check the price text through the DOM as a separate validation from the screenshot. Do not infer that the site displayed rupees merely because the browser locale is en-IN, and do not convert a foreign-currency amount and present it as the retailer’s displayed price.
For software you control, JavaScript’s Intl.NumberFormat can format an amount using India locale conventions and an explicit currency code. Locale and currency are distinct inputs; setting the currency for your own output does not change another site’s pricing decision. MDN: Intl.NumberFormat

The screenshot shows a foreign currency
en-IN does not force the retailer to select India pricing. Check the retailer’s own region or delivery setting and the page or account state, if relevant and permitted, then reload and inspect the displayed price again. If INR still is not shown, do not label the capture as a rupee-priced page.
The screenshot is blank or misses product details
The sample waits only for domcontentloaded, which does not guarantee that every product image or delayed price has appeared. Inspect the page state and wait for the relevant content before capturing. Use the browser’s DOM or accessibility information to find a relevant condition or control; do not assume the screenshot itself provides reliable interaction targets.

Practical reliability and cost notes
- Keep the currency check separate from capture. Save or record whether the page showed ₹ or INR; a successful screenshot alone does not validate currency.
- Match the viewport to the claim. A desktop capture and a mobile capture can show different layouts; record which context you used.
- Do not claim retailer-specific behavior without checking it. The cited Playwright and MDN documentation describes browser and formatting behavior, not individual stores’ currency rules.
