That means the usual fundraiser setup steps may not be available in your Studio account. You can check the account interface, but do not announce a YouTube Giving campaign unless Studio lets you create and attach it to the stream.
For eligible channels in supported locations, YouTube’s documented process is to create a fundraiser in YouTube Studio, select an eligible US charity, add a scheduled livestream, and publish. The guidance does not establish a special setup for one uninterrupted 24/7 stream.

Can an India-based channel use YouTube Giving?
India is absent from YouTube’s published list of creator locations for YouTube Giving. The program’s general eligibility requirements also include at least 10,000 subscribers, YouTube Partner Program membership, and a channel that is not designated Made for Kids. Check YouTube’s YouTube Giving setup guidance and program eligibility and FAQ for the current rules; availability can change.
Meeting the subscriber and Partner Program thresholds does not override the location requirement. The published guidance does not establish an exception for India-based channels, so the practical first step is to open Studio and see whether Giving is available to your channel. If it is not, the documented YouTube Giving workflow cannot be completed from that account.

What eligible creators need before setting up
- Eligible channel: It must be in a supported creator location, have at least 10,000 subscribers, be in the YouTube Partner Program, and not be designated Made for Kids.
- Eligible recipient: The documented program supports eligible US-based public charities with 501(c)(3) status and required registrations or opt-ins. A charity not listed in Studio may be requested, but approval is not automatic.
- A stream Studio can attach: The setup instructions describe adding a scheduled livestream. They do not confirm that the attachment flow supports a single uninterrupted 24/7 stream.
- Campaign details: Prepare a title and description, and decide whether to set a fundraising goal and duration.
How an eligible channel creates and attaches a fundraiser
- Sign in to YouTube Studio. Use the channel that will host the fundraiser and livestream.
- Open Earn > Giving. Choose Get started > Create a fundraiser. You can also look for fundraiser setup in Live Control Room under Advanced Settings.
- Choose the nonprofit. Select an available eligible US 501(c)(3) public charity. If it is missing, use the nonprofit request flow. YouTube says requests can take up to five business days.
- Enter campaign details. Add the fundraiser title and description; set a goal and duration if useful.
- Add the scheduled livestream. Select the stream that should display the fundraiser. Because YouTube’s instructions do not clarify how a continuous 24/7 broadcast is handled, confirm that the exact stream appears as an attachable option before promoting the campaign.
- Publish. The donate control appears after the fundraiser start date, not necessarily as soon as you create it.
What viewers see and what changes during the fundraiser
YouTube says the donate button can appear on the video watch page or in live chat after the start date. Donations in live chat require live chat to be enabled; on mobile, a viewer may need to rotate to portrait orientation to see chat.
- Streams with Live Chat Donations do not have Super Chat or Super Stickers, to avoid confusion between donations and those features.
- Ads are not affected. Super Thanks is unavailable on videos with Donations.
- YouTube says 100% of contributions go to the nonprofit and that YouTube pays transaction fees. Its help material identifies Network for Good as the donation collection and disbursement partner.
Review the campaign and stream settings before the start date, and make sure the charity, dates, description, and attached stream are correct.

What to do if YouTube Giving is unavailable in India
Google for Nonprofits suggests that creators who are not eligible for YouTube Giving can consider third-party fundraising sites. That is a separate route, not an integration with YouTube Giving. Before choosing one, verify all of the following directly with the platform and intended charity:

- Whether an India-based organizer and the intended charity are eligible.
- Whether donations can be displayed or linked during a continuous livestream.
- Which donor countries and payment methods are supported.
- Fees, payout timing, and who receives and disburses funds.

24/7 stream setup: the operational caveat
The official fundraiser flow describes attaching a scheduled livestream; it does not explain whether a single continuous 24/7 stream is supported, or whether the stream must be scheduled or restarted in a particular way. For an eligible channel, verify the exact stream in Live Control Room and confirm the fundraiser is attached before telling viewers donations are available. Do not treat a working 24/7 broadcast by itself as proof that the fundraiser control will appear.
