Add a game from its Steam store page, then use Steam’s Wishlist for sale notifications. If you also want price history or alerts across multiple stores, pair it with a price-tracking service such as SteamDB or IsThereAnyDeal.
1. Add a game to your Steam Wishlist
- Sign in to Steam in the desktop client or a browser.
- Open the game’s Steam store page and select Add to your Wishlist. Steam Support describes this as the way to add a game: Steam Wishlist support.
- Open Store → Wishlist in the client or on Steam’s website to view and manage your list.
2. Organize your list
You can reorder Wishlist entries or remove games you no longer want to track. Steam’s interface has also offered sorting and filters for discounts, price tiers, tags, Early Access, and release availability. Valve’s July 2026 announcement describes custom categories and improved search, alongside demo availability indicators and alerts. If those features are available in your client and region, categories can separate user-created groups such as “Waiting for a sale” or “Birthday ideas”; these are examples, not preset category names. 3. Enable Steam sale notifications
Steam says it can notify you by email or through its mobile app when a wishlisted game is on sale. Valve’s notification page gives Daily Deal, Midweek Deal, and Weekend Deal as examples, not a guarantee that every discount or price change will trigger an alert: Steam Wishlist Notifications.

- Review your Steam account notification or email preferences and make sure Wishlist sale emails are enabled if you want email alerts.
- In the Steam mobile app, review notification preferences and enable the relevant Steam notifications.
- If you no longer want alerts, use the same preference controls to opt out of email or turn off mobile notifications.
Steam does not promise instant delivery or an alert for every possible price movement. Treat the notification as a convenient sale notice, not a real-time price-monitoring guarantee.
4. Choose whether to add third-party price tracking
Steam’s own Wishlist is the simplest option if you want to keep everything in Steam and receive basic sale notices. External services can add price history, watchlists, or comparisons across stores. Check each service’s current regions, currencies, store coverage, and alert controls before relying on it.

SteamDB: price history and a watchlist
Look up a game on SteamDB to inspect its Steam price history. To keep track of games in a watchlist, create a SteamDB account and add titles; SteamDB also says you can manually import your Steam Wishlist. This is useful when you want historical context for a Steam price, rather than relying only on a current discount badge: SteamDB.
IsThereAnyDeal: compare stores and configure alerts

5. Review privacy before sharing
Your Wishlist visibility follows your Steam Community Profile privacy settings, so check those settings if you want to keep the list private or make it visible. Valve’s July 2026 announcement also describes share links for a category or filtered Wishlist view.
