Check that your wheel works with PS5 and GT7
Compatibility is model- and edition-specific. Before connecting or buying a wheel, check its manufacturer’s compatibility list and confirm that you have the PlayStation version, not a similarly named Xbox edition. Logitech lists Gran Turismo 7 for its PlayStation G923/G29/G920 group (Logitech’s compatibility list). PlayStation’s licensed racing-wheel overview includes product families from Logitech, Thrustmaster, and Fanatec, including the Gran Turismo DD Pro (PlayStation’s racing-wheel overview). These examples do not establish compatibility for every wheel from those brands.

- Confirm the precise model and platform edition.
- Look for explicit PS5 and GT7 support from the wheel maker.
- Check what comes with the wheel, such as pedals, and whether its mounting method fits your desk, stand, or cockpit.
A wheel is optional equipment for GT7; a more expensive or direct-drive model is not required just to complete setup.

Clamp the wheel to a stable desk or fasten it to a compatible wheel stand or cockpit. Position the pedals so they will not slide when pressed. A separate stand is optional, but check that it fits the wheel’s mounting points before using it.

- Immersive Gaming Experience: Perfect for PlayStation 5, PS4 and PC gaming titles, the Driving Force simulates the feeling of driving a real car with precision steering and pressure-sensitive pedals
- Premium Control: The Driving Force feedback racing wheel provides a detailed simulation of driving a real car, with helical gearing delivering smooth, quiet steering and a hand-stitched leather cover
- Customizable Pedals: These pressure-sensitive nonlinear brake pedals provide a responsive, accurate braking feel on a sturdy base - with adjustable pedal faces for finer control
- 900-Degree Rotation: Lock-to-lock rotation of the Driving Force means you can turn the wheel around two and a half times, hand over hand on wide turns - just like a real F1 race car
- Up Your Game: Take your racing simulation to the next level with Driving Force accessories like the Driving Force Shifter or desk and rig mounts
For the Logitech G923, Logitech documents both its built-in clamp and bolt mounting. Its guide specifies two M6X1 screws to bolt the wheel unit to a rig, stand, or cockpit (Logitech’s G923 mounting guide). Those screw specifications are for that wheel; check the manual for other models.
Connect the wheel to the PS5
Exact ports, power requirements, and switches vary by model. Use the supplied manual rather than assuming one wheel’s connections apply to another.

- REALISTIC RACING SIMULATION DUO: Feel what is like to drive a real race car with G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel & Pedals and Driving Force Shifter
- PAIRED FOR PRECISION: Take full control of the race with G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel & Pedals and Driving Force Shifter
- PRECISE CONTROL: Helical transmission gears reduce noise and vibration with anti-backlash keeping wheel and pedals tight. The six-speed “H” shifter helps you execute smooth, accurate gear transitions
- FORCE FEEDBACK: The dual motor force-feedback realistically simulates the feel of tires on a turn, understeer, oversteer, drifting and more
- PREMIUM BUILT: Look, feel and durability of a real race car wheel, pedals and shifter. Wheel cover, knob and boot are covered in high-quality, hand-stitched leather with a solid steel gear shaft and polished metal pedals
- Connect the pedals to the wheel base. Make sure the pedal cable is fully seated in the port specified by the manual.
- Connect external power if the wheel requires it. For the G923, Logitech’s troubleshooting instructions say to check the wheel’s power connection and pedal connection before checking USB (Logitech’s G923 pedal troubleshooting steps).
- Set any console or game switch to the required position. For example, the Thrustmaster T300 RS GT manual specifies its PS5-PS4 switch position for PlayStation use. The T-GT II manual says its USB switch position depends on the game (T300 RS GT manual; T-GT II manual).
- Connect the wheel’s USB cable to the PS5. Follow the manual’s connection order if it specifies one.
Let the wheel calibrate and connect your profile
When the wheel initializes, it may rotate from side to side before returning to center. Keep your hands, cables, and nearby objects clear while it moves. Logitech describes this full rotation and centering sequence for the G923; Thrustmaster manuals also instruct users to wait for automatic calibration (Logitech G923 troubleshooting; T300 RS GT manual).
After calibration, press the wheel’s PlayStation button and select or connect the PS5 profile you want to use. The T300 RS GT and T-GT II manuals include this step for signing in to a PlayStation account (T300 RS GT manual; T-GT II manual).

Check steering and pedals in GT7
Launch GT7 and verify that the game registers steering, accelerator, and brake inputs. If one input is absent or behaves incorrectly, inspect the game’s control options and check the wheel’s own mode or switch position. Logitech recommends checking pedal mapping when pedals do not work and notes that a game may invert pedal controls (Logitech G923 pedal troubleshooting).
Do not assume a particular steering sensitivity, force-feedback, or pedal setting is best for every wheel. Thrustmaster provides a GT7 mapping resource for the T-GT II, but that mapping does not establish settings for all wheel models (Thrustmaster T-GT II support). Start with the game’s available defaults, then consult the instructions for your wheel if you need to change a control.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
The wheel does not initialize
- Recheck that your exact wheel edition supports PS5 and GT7.
- Confirm that the USB cable is connected to the console and that any required power supply is connected.
- Check the wheel’s manual for a console or game mode switch and follow its connection and startup sequence.
The pedals do not respond
- Check the wheel’s power and confirm the pedal cable is connected to the wheel base.
- Check the USB connection between the wheel and PS5.
- In GT7, inspect control mapping and check whether the game has inverted pedal behavior.
The wheel is powered but does not control your profile
Press the wheel’s PlayStation button and select the PS5 profile you intend to use. If that does not work, consult the wheel’s model-specific instructions for its console mode and sign-in sequence.

The wheel shifts or tilts during use
Reposition it and use the supplied clamp or a mounting method approved for that model. If you bolt a G923 to a rig, Logitech specifies two M6X1 screws for the wheel unit; do not assume that hardware specification applies to another wheel (Logitech’s G923 mounting guide).
