You enter basic personal and business details, answer questions about your cross-border activity, and complete identity verification. After that you can request receiving accounts in the currencies you need. The exact form, documents and features depend on your country and eligibility, so treat the steps below as the general path and not a fixed checklist.
Step 1: Start from Payoneer’s official registration flow
Begin on Payoneer’s own website and use its signup or registration option. Payoneer’s materials describe the opening questions as basic contact and business details. These typically include your name, mobile number, work email, business name and country. You are then asked about your business and the cross-border payments you expect to send or receive.

The form you see depends on eligibility and jurisdiction. Someone registering in one country may see different fields, or different account options, than someone in another. If a field or option in your flow differs from what a guide describes, follow your screen.
Step 2: Prepare accurate, consistent information
Verification is the stage where most delays are likely to arise. Payoneer’s verification guidance says it may ask for a government-issued ID and proof of address after you register. Prepare for that before you start:

- Enter your name, address and business details exactly as they appear on your official documents.
- Use a work email and mobile number you can access, since they are part of the registration details.
- Have a valid government-issued photo ID and a recent proof of address ready to upload. Whether you need these, and which documents are accepted, is decided by Payoneer’s request for your account.
- Describe your business and expected activity truthfully. Mismatches between what you declare and what your documents show are an obvious reason for a review to stall.
Do not assume a particular document list will apply to you. Submit what the in-account request asks for.
Step 3: Complete verification and wait for review
After you submit your details, Payoneer reviews the application and may come back with further prompts. Check your email and your account dashboard and respond to anything it asks for. There is no universal approval time for opening an account. Payoneer states a timeframe only for receiving-account requests (see below), and that should not be read as the approval time for a new account.

Step 4: Request receiving accounts if you need them
Receiving accounts are what let you get paid from clients or marketplaces in particular currencies. Per Payoneer’s help guidance, you request them once you are signed in:

- Open Actions.
- Choose Request receiving accounts.
- Select the currencies you want.
- Submit the request.
Payoneer may ask for identity documents or a receiving-account questionnaire at this point. It says approval commonly takes from a few minutes to three business days, depending on your business type and location. That is Payoneer’s own undated guidance, not a guarantee.

Receiving account details are not the same thing as a traditional bank account. They let you receive payments, but Payoneer’s own materials distinguish them from a conventional bank account. Check how your payers and the platforms you use treat them.

Payoneer describes its coverage as 190+ countries and territories and 70+ currencies (Payoneer website, accessed 2026, with no publication year given). Those are provider-stated scope figures. They do not mean every feature, currency or receiving account is open to every user in every location.

On pricing, Payoneer’s Pricing page, which says it was last updated on 1 January 2026, makes these points:
- Opening an account typically does not require a monthly subscription.
- An annual account fee may apply under conditions the page sets out, which relate to account activity.
- Transaction charges vary.
The page also states: “The exact fee applicable to your transaction is always displayed before you confirm the payment in your Payoneer account, ensuring full transparency.” Use that to your advantage. Look at the fee shown for your own account and transaction type before you confirm a payment or withdrawal. Compare it with the fee details in your account, because published rates may not match what applies to you.

What to check if you’re comparing Payoneer with another service
Compare only details you can verify for your own situation:
- Whether your country is eligible
- Which receiving currencies and payment methods are supported
- The verification requirements
- How you can withdraw funds
- Account fees and transaction fees
- Whether the receiving details are an actual bank account
Payoneer is not suitable for everyone. Whether it works for you depends on your country, your business type and the platforms you are paid through.
