Choose the charity and donation route first
For a BCRF fundraiser, start with its livestream fundraising guidance, which describes using Tiltify or Streamlabs Charity. The exact charity listing and service availability may depend on your location, so check them before you publish the campaign or promote a donation link.

Other routes may suit particular creators. Twitch has a built-in Charity tool that lets creators find eligible charities and start campaigns; its directory is based on PayPal Giving Fund data. Check whether BCRF appears in the tool for your region. YouTube Giving supports eligible creators and recipients, while JustGiving describes a streaming fundraiser setup that can connect with listed services including Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Live. Availability and eligibility are not universal across countries or accounts.

Compare routes on five points: whether the exact charity is supported; whether viewer payments use the charity campaign rather than your personal channel income; country and currency coverage; available donation buttons, alerts, goals, and overlays; and fees, payout timing, and receipt handling. The services’ current terms differ, and the sources do not establish comparable fees or payout schedules across all options. Verify those details on the service you choose rather than promising a particular amount or timing.

Build the campaign page
BCRF’s Tiltify setup instructions describe choosing Breast Cancer Research Foundation as the cause and creating an individual campaign. Add a concise campaign name, the stream date or dates, and a fundraising goal you are comfortable sharing. A specific goal gives viewers context, but it is a target—not a guarantee of funds raised.
You can add an incentive, such as a giveaway entry or digital item, if the service supports it. Check the platform’s terms and applicable local rules before offering incentives, particularly where eligibility, entry conditions, or prizes are involved.

Connect the fundraiser to your livestream
- Create the campaign. Select the named charity in the platform and complete the campaign fields. Save the public donation page URL.
- Link the stream account or service. For Tiltify, BCRF says Twitch can be connected by linking accounts. Other platforms may use a supported stream connection or campaign link; follow the service’s current setup instructions.
- Add the donation page and stream elements. Put the campaign URL where viewers can find it, such as your stream description or chat command. If you use a donation button, alert, or overlay, make sure it points to the selected charity campaign and displays correctly in a test or preview.
- Confirm the live experience. Check the page from a viewer’s perspective and verify that the stream connection, donation route, and any promised alerts or overlays work before going live. Do not announce an integration feature until you have confirmed it is available for your account.
BCRF identifies custom overlays among the Streamlabs Charity tools it promotes. JustGiving’s streaming guide describes connections for listed services including Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Live. Features can change, so rely on the selected service’s current account setup rather than assuming every platform supports the same integration.
Make clear where the money goes
Tell viewers to use the campaign’s charity donation button or page, and name the beneficiary in your stream title, description, and spoken explanation. Twitch distinguishes donations through Twitch Charity or a charity fundraising service such as Tiltify from viewers sending a streamer tips, Bits, or subscription revenue that the streamer later donates. Those ordinary channel payments are not charitable donations through Twitch’s charity system and are not tax deductible through that mechanism. Do not call them direct donations to the charity.

If using YouTube Giving, the cited YouTube guidance says the program’s donations are collected and distributed by Network for Good at Google’s request, and YouTube pays transaction fees. This describes YouTube Giving; it should not be generalized to another platform. For the route you choose, explain the payment path using that service’s current terms and avoid making tax or receipt promises unless the charity or platform confirms them.

Before the stream, share the campaign page, event date, beneficiary, and a short explanation of the cause. During the broadcast, repeat the charity donation link and explain how to find it; JustGiving’s streaming guide also recommends setup and social promotion as part of the process.

Afterward, report the total shown by the campaign and identify it as the campaign total. Do not say that the charity has received or been paid the money until that payment is confirmed by the relevant platform or charity.
