To add a wallet tracker to an iPhone, first confirm that the exact model supports Apple Find My. Make the tracker discoverable using the maker’s instructions, then open Find My and choose Items → Add → Add Other Item. Tap Connect, name the tracker, and complete registration to your Apple Account. A generic Bluetooth tracker or an Android-only variant will not necessarily work.
What you need before pairing
Find My compatibility is model-specific. A product family may include separate versions for Apple Find My and for Android’s Google Find Hub, even when the cards look nearly identical. Check the model number, packaging, or the manufacturer’s support page for explicit Apple Find My support before opening the app.

- An iPhone with Find My available: You must be signed in to an Apple Account so the item can be registered to you.
- The correct tracker variant: It must explicitly support Apple Find My, not merely Bluetooth or an Android-only network.
- A discoverable tracker: Activate, power on, or place the card in pairing mode exactly as its maker describes.
- Bluetooth and internet access: These are required by some manufacturers during first-time setup. Keep the card close to the iPhone.
- A tracker that is not tied to someone else: If it is still associated with another person’s Apple Account, that person must remove it before you can add it.
Do not assume that every thin card sold as a “wallet tracker” can be added to Find My. Apple supports selected third-party products through its Find My accessory program; unsupported Bluetooth devices will not appear in the correct pairing flow.

Understand the two different accessory categories
Most people asking this question mean a credit-card-shaped third-party tracker that sits inside a wallet. That product uses the third-party item flow in Find My. Apple’s own Wallet with MagSafe is a separate accessory and has its own add option. Identifying which one you have prevents you from following the wrong menu path.

A tracker card normally advertises Apple Find My compatibility on its packaging or product page. The card may have its own button, charging contacts, wireless charging, a companion application, or a QR code. Those hardware details vary by model. Find My supplies the account and locating interface, but it does not make an unsupported Bluetooth card compatible.
How to add a third-party wallet tracker to Find My
Use this sequence for a tracker card that is designed to work with Apple Find My. The exact activation gesture differs by manufacturer, but the Apple portion follows the same pattern.
1. Verify the exact model
Read the model name and variant on the card, box, or receipt. Look specifically for “works with Apple Find My” or equivalent wording. If the manufacturer lists separate Apple and Android versions, select the Apple version. A product that only advertises Bluetooth location finding is not automatically compatible with Find My.
Keep the model information handy if you need support. Apple directs users to the manufacturer when an item will not add, because the maker can confirm whether that particular hardware revision supports Find My and which activation procedure applies.
2. Make the card discoverable
Follow the maker’s instructions to turn on the tracker and enter pairing or discoverable mode. This may involve charging it, pressing a button, removing an insulating tab, or using a particular startup sequence. Keep the card beside the iPhone while you do this. If the maker requires its companion app, follow its stated order; some multi-network cards require you to choose Apple Find My before installing or pairing the companion app.
Do not start by repeatedly tapping the Find My add button while the card is still switched off or asleep. The phone can only connect after the accessory is advertising itself according to the maker’s instructions. If the instructions call for a full charge, complete that first rather than assuming a new card has enough power for setup.
3. Open the Items section in Find My
- Open the Find My app on your iPhone.
- Tap Items.
- Tap the add control.
- Choose Add Other Item.
Apple can adjust labels or the placement of the add control in different software versions and for different accessory types. Choose the option that refers to adding another item rather than adding a person or a supported MagSafe accessory.
4. Connect the tracker
When the card appears, tap Connect. If nothing appears, leave the card in discoverable mode, move it closer, and repeat the manufacturer’s activation step before trying again.
Keep other possible trackers and Bluetooth accessories away during the first attempt if you are unsure which device is appearing. Confirm that the name or model shown by Find My matches the card you are holding. This avoids registering the wrong nearby accessory.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
5. Name and register it
Give the item a name that identifies the thing it is attached to, such as “Everyday wallet” or “Travel wallet.” Find My may offer an emoji; choose one if it helps you distinguish several items. Continue through the prompts to register the accessory to your Apple Account.
The account registration is not an optional label. It establishes which Apple Account owns the Find My item. A card already associated with another person cannot simply be claimed by bringing it near your phone; the prior account holder must remove it first.

Return to Find My → Items and check that the tracker is listed under the name you chose. Open its item page and review the available controls. Apple says registered third-party items can be viewed in Find My, but capabilities such as playing a sound depend on the accessory model.
Read the item page before putting the card deep inside your wallet. Check that the displayed name is clear, that the accessory is registered to the intended account, and that any model-specific controls are present. Feature differences are normal: registration does not turn every third-party card into an AirTag.
Network choice on cards that support Apple and Android
Some wallet cards can operate on Apple Find My or Google Find Hub, but not both at the same time. The network selection is therefore part of setup, not a minor preference you can ignore. If your phone is an iPhone, choose Apple Find My before completing the pairing sequence.
Pebblebee’s Card 5 is an example. Its maker says it works with Apple Find My on iPhone or Google Find Hub on Android and can be connected to only one network at a time. Pebblebee’s guidance says to choose the tracking network before adding the Pebblebee app. If you select the Android network by mistake, follow the maker’s changeover instructions before attempting Apple registration again.

Installing a companion app does not automatically move a card between networks. The app may be useful for charging information, account functions, or changing modes, but the manufacturer’s stated order controls the initial setup. When in doubt, reset the process using the maker’s instructions rather than creating several incomplete entries in Find My.
Example: setting up a Pebblebee Card 5
Pebblebee describes Card 5 as a wallet-sized tracker that can use Apple Find My on iPhone or Google Find Hub on Android. It can be connected to only one of those networks at a time. Decide which network you need before pairing; switching later requires following the maker’s changeover process.
Preparation listed by the manufacturer
- Fully charge the card.
- Turn on Bluetooth on the iPhone.
- Make sure the iPhone has an internet connection.
- Keep the card close to the phone.
- Choose the tracking network before adding the Pebblebee app, following the maker’s setup guidance.
After the card is active and set for Apple Find My, use Find My → Items → Add → Add Other Item, tap Connect, name it, and finish Apple Account registration.

Published Card 5 specifications
| Specification | Manufacturer-published detail |
|---|---|
| Battery claim | Up to 18 months per charge; Pebblebee does not state a publication year for this figure. |
| Charging | Wireless charging. |
| Thickness | 0.07 inch. |
| Water resistance | IP68 rating. |
| Recovery feature | A unique recovery QR code on the device. |
| Network choice | Apple Find My or Google Find Hub, one network at a time. |
These are Pebblebee’s claims for Card 5, not general specifications for all tracker cards. “Up to 18 months” is a maximum manufacturer estimate, not an independently measured result or a guarantee of real-world battery life. Charging frequency can also depend on how the card is used and stored, so treat the figure as a planning estimate.
What to do when the tracker will not add
The card does not appear in “Add Other Item”
- Recheck the exact model and variant for Apple Find My compatibility.
- Repeat the manufacturer’s power-on or discoverability procedure.
- Keep the card next to the iPhone and make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
- For products that require internet access during setup, connect the iPhone to the internet.
- If the item still will not appear, contact the manufacturer to confirm that the particular model supports Find My. Apple directs users to the maker for this compatibility check.
A nearby generic Bluetooth device may still be visible in another app, but that does not mean it belongs in Find My. The relevant test is whether the exact model is part of Apple’s supported Find My accessory program and follows the maker’s discoverability process.
The tracker says it belongs to another account
A Find My accessory can be registered to one Apple Account at a time. The previous owner must remove it from their account before you can claim it. Buying a used card without having the seller unlink it can leave the hardware unusable for your account until that step is completed.
If you are transferring a card, ask the current owner to remove it while they still have access to the original account. Simply deleting a manufacturer app, turning off Bluetooth, or handing over the physical card does not complete the Apple Account transfer.
You selected the wrong network
Some cards support either Apple Find My or Google Find Hub but not both simultaneously. If you chose the Android network, follow the manufacturer’s instructions to change networks, then repeat the Apple Find My setup. Do not assume that installing the companion app will automatically move the card to Apple’s network.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The companion app conflicts with setup
Multi-network products may specify that network selection and Find My pairing happen before the maker’s app is installed. If setup stalls after the app is added, consult the maker’s sequence and restart from the required activation step rather than repeatedly tapping the Find My add control.
It connects but expected controls are missing
Find My lists registered third-party items, but feature availability is accessory-dependent. A card may not offer every control shown for an AirTag or another model. Check the tracker’s documentation for sound, battery, QR-code recovery, and other functions supported by that particular accessory.
The card was moved to another wallet
Find My continues to use the name you assigned until you change it. If the card moves from an everyday wallet to a travel wallet, update the item name so the listing remains useful. The physical move does not require a new pairing as long as the tracker stays registered to your Apple Account.
Choosing a tracker card for an iPhone wallet
Compatibility should be the first filter. Once a card is confirmed to work with Apple Find My, compare the characteristics that affect daily use and maintenance.

| Decision point | Questions to answer |
|---|---|
| Find My support | Does the exact model, not merely the product family, explicitly support Apple Find My? |
| Wallet fit | How thick is the card, and will it fit without making the wallet uncomfortable or preventing other cards from sliding in? |
| Battery design | Is the battery rechargeable, replaceable, or non-replaceable? What charging method does the maker specify? |
| Battery-life claim | What model-specific duration does the manufacturer publish, and is it clearly labeled as an estimate rather than an independent test? |
| Find My features | Does the model support the controls you need, such as locating it in Items or playing a sound? |
| Setup dependencies | Is a separate maker app required, and does the maker require network selection before or after that app is installed? |
Also compare how you will recharge or replace the battery. A card that is difficult to remove from a tightly packed wallet may be inconvenient even if its advertised runtime is long. For a rechargeable model, note the charging method and keep the required charger available. For a model with a non-replaceable battery, check what the maker says to do when it reaches the end of its service life.
A slim card is useful only if it remains charged and linked to the correct account. Record the model and charging method somewhere safe, especially if the card is hidden inside a wallet and rarely handled.
Do not confuse a tracker card with an Apple MagSafe wallet
An Apple Wallet with MagSafe is a different accessory category. It can be added to Find My only when the specific wallet has Find My support; the setup path is not Add Other Item.
Adding a supported MagSafe wallet during first attachment
- Attach the supported wallet to the back of the iPhone.
- Wait for the iPhone prompt.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to add it to Find My.
Adding it later
- Attach the supported MagSafe wallet to the iPhone.
- Open Find My.
- Tap Items, then the add control.
- Choose Add MagSafe Accessory.
- Follow the onscreen instructions.
A third-party tracker card and a supported MagSafe wallet therefore use different add options. Choosing the wrong one can make a working accessory appear unsupported. If a MagSafe wallet has no Find My support, attaching it will not make it appear as a trackable item.
Using the tracker after setup
The tracker appears in the Items tab under the name you assigned. Open that entry when you need to check its location or use an available accessory control. The exact controls depend on the model; registration in Find My does not promise that every feature offered by other Find My hardware will be present.
Keep the item name specific enough to distinguish it from other cards. Names such as “Everyday wallet,” “Work badge,” or “Travel wallet” are more useful than a generic product name when several accessories are listed. If the card includes a recovery QR code, follow the maker’s instructions for using that feature rather than assuming it is an Apple feature common to every tracker.
If you replace the wallet, move the tracker to another belonging you own and update its name so the label remains meaningful. Before giving the tracker away, remove it from your Apple Account so the next owner can register it. Account removal is also required when transferring a used card to another person.
Privacy and unwanted-tracking rules
Use a Find My accessory only with belongings you own or are authorized to manage. Apple’s safety guidance states: “They should not be used to track people, and should not be used to track property that does not belong to you.” Do not place a tracker in another person’s bag, vehicle, or clothing without their knowledge and permission.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add a wallet tracker to Find My on my iPhone?
Confirm the exact tracker model supports Apple Find My and put it into discoverable mode using the maker’s instructions. In Find My, tap Items, the add control, and Add Other Item. Tap Connect when the card appears, name it, and complete registration to your Apple Account.
Will any Bluetooth wallet tracker work with Find My?
No. Apple Find My supports selected third-party products. A generic Bluetooth tracker or an Android-only version may not appear in Find My. Check the exact model and variant for explicit Apple Find My compatibility.
Why can’t I see my tracker in Add Other Item?
Make sure the card is powered on and discoverable, close to the iPhone, and that Bluetooth is enabled. Connect the iPhone to the internet if the manufacturer requires it. If it still does not appear, ask the manufacturer to confirm that the exact model supports Find My.
Can I add a tracker that belonged to someone else?
Yes, but the previous owner must first remove it from their Apple Account. A Find My accessory already linked to another account cannot be registered to yours until that account association is removed.
Can one wallet card use Apple Find My and Google Find Hub together?
Some products, including Pebblebee Card 5, support either network but only one at a time. Choose Apple Find My for an iPhone and follow the manufacturer’s process if you later need to switch networks.
Does a Pebblebee Card 5 need the Pebblebee app before Find My setup?
Pebblebee’s setup guidance says to choose the tracking network before adding the Pebblebee app. Fully charge the card, enable Bluetooth, provide internet access, keep it close to the iPhone, and then complete the Apple Find My flow.
What is the battery life of Pebblebee Card 5?
Pebblebee publishes a claim of up to 18 months per charge. The card also lists wireless charging, a 0.07-inch thickness, IP68 water resistance, and a unique recovery QR code. These are manufacturer-published Card 5 specifications, not independent test results.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
How do I add an Apple MagSafe wallet instead of a tracker card?
Attach a supported Find My wallet and follow the iPhone prompt. To add it later, open Find My, attach the wallet, tap Items and the add control, choose Add MagSafe Accessory, and follow the onscreen instructions. Do not use Add Other Item for this accessory type.
Can I use a Find My tracker to monitor another person?
No. Apple says Find My accessories should not be used to track people or property that does not belong to you. Use a tracker only with belongings you own or are authorized to manage, and follow Apple’s unwanted-tracking guidance if an unfamiliar tracker is found.
The Bottom Line
For a third-party wallet card, verify Apple Find My support for the exact model, make it discoverable, then use Find My → Items → Add → Add Other Item. Connect, name, and register it to your Apple Account. Resolve account ownership or network-selection issues through the manufacturer’s instructions; a supported MagSafe wallet uses Add MagSafe Accessory instead.
